An awesome workout for anyone, no matter what your current level of fitness is. There's always something new to learn, and that keeps it exciting. I've had a tendency to get bored with other workouts, and that's not an issue here because of how the training works. I think that the best aspect of krav is the level of realism; like he says in the video, its not about meditation, its about really learning to fight. Other martial arts I've tried don't compare at all to what you learn in krav, because you learn so much in the first class, and especially the first month you go. But really the main difference I see between krav and other martial arts is that it truly prepares you for a real fight scenario, where you're adrenaline is pumping, you're completely exhausted, and you've got someone coming at you that you need to defend yourself against. Tae kwon do doesn't do that. If that sort of thing is at all appealing to you, you should definitely give krav a try (the instructors will let you come in and try or just watch a class for free). At the very least you'll get a great workout and learn something new. more

Challenging and motivating 1/6/2011

After researching other martial arts, I found Krav Maga most suited what I was looking for in self defense training, especially the practicality of the techniques and how they applied to what you might encounter in todays world. Upon joining Krav Maga Eastide Training Center, I found the training to be much more than just self defense; the classes are challenging and motivating (the training makes you want to perfect a particular move or technique), unlike anything I had experienced in a regular workout at a gym. Not only am I learning how to defend myself, but my fitness level has increased, and more importantly, my confidence level has increased. Give Krav Maga a try, it will definitely stretch your boundaries and you might find yourself, as I did, doing far more than you ever thought you could. more

I Love It!! 12/10/2010

I am a single mother who has no time and lots of stress. I was invited to Master K's ATA to work out and I Love it. There are things for the kids, great work outs for me and I didnt feel pressured to over do things. Being over weight is hard to feel good working out, but with Master K and all the team I Love It! I would recommend it to anyone!! more

Good Atmosphere 12/1/2010

Do you want to learn to defend yourself? Not just look good or tell people that you know how, but to really, actually, defend yourself? If so then KravMagaETC is the place for you. I've been going for just a few months and I've just started to scratch the surface, but even so, I'm more ready now than ever before. None of us want to have to fight, but if the time comes when you are attacked, mugged, threatened, etc, you better be prepared...and these guys will prepare you.\r \r It is a good atmosphere, everybody helps everybody else without getting all touchy-feely on each other. Each person is pushed just beyond their limits and tons of personal attention is given. I really like the lack of spiritualism in the classes. There isn't any ""centering your chi"" or ""being one with yourself""...it is just, kick, strike, fight, survive.\r \r If you want to wear a belt or a uniform go somewhere else, if you want to walk down a street or into a store and know you don't have to be afraid-come see them. more

Excellent 11/29/2010

This is excellent for anybody who wants to learn ""real life"" self defense. It would be great if every law abiding person would take this fine instruction. The world would be a safer place. Getting a vigorous workout is also a worthwhile side benefit. Anybody can gain by this program. more

this place is great! 11/19/2010

I have been going here for over 3 years. The instructors teach you real life defenses and better yet train your mind to get used to the feeling of stress and aggression needed for actual street fights. The haters i.e (Joe) are usually lazy people who expect the instructors to hand hold them thru every drill. If you have the willingness to learn and are there to actually sweat and gain some bumps/bruises along the way...this is a great place. Bottom line...you get out of it what you put in to it. more

Horrible Martial Art's School 2/4/2010

This academy is a joke. The so called ""master"" instructor is very dishonest and lacks major integrity. He has horrible business sense and all he cares about is your next dime. He doesn't practice his so called integrity teachings at all. He is full of drama and always causing fighting between his instructors. They don't get along it is evident; one has no clue what she is teaching and the parents can't stand her and the other stands in the back of class crying all night. Do yourself a favor and keep you and your family away from this joke of a martial art school. Pros: building is big Cons: $ hungry instructor, lack of integrity and honesty more

Mr Kassabaum may know how to do this sport well, but he is not after the best interest of the students. All he cares about is money. 1/14/2009

He convinced us rigth before Christmas 2007 that our son was ready for the leadership clasess. Our son wasn't even tested all that hard for the belts he earned. I told Mr Kassabaum that we couldn't afford to gear and he said he would break the cost of gear into several months. He was ready to do anything just to get my husband and I to sign that contract. The monthly payments went up to 120$ and contract was for 12 months. He said that If my husband had orders with military, they would easily released the contract. My son hated the next class and we paid all that money every month for months. When my husband was getting ready to retire, I called this guy several times. He will not answer or reply to your messages. I had to stop the payments in December. I don't know what this may do to my credit, but I'm tired of being ripped of by this guy. Last time I talked to him he told me that I had to call another number and he would not give the number without a figth. They need proof of residency from our new location. I can't believe that copy of my husbands military orders doesn't mean anything at this point. Anyway, the picture is clear. I feel like I'm against a brick wall!!! Cons: filty facility, the owner is not a true professional. more

Great family environment 7/16/2008

Great instructors that work well with kids. My daughter has improved so much since beginning classes here. She is more attentive, has more confidence, and is more respectful. I also take the kickboxing classes and I love the work out. It is a great family environment and there is a class for everyone. Pros: wonderful caring instructors, work well with kids Cons: none really, sometimes parking on testing nights more

Money Hungry Instructors 3/18/2006

The training is ok and the facility is alright. The head instructor is a money hungry jerk. He in not in the business to help people, rather to get their money at all cost. He only see's $$$$$$ when a family walks in the door. He has no personality. This school is also full of drama. There is a huge Click in this school. They have run off students parents and even instructors. Pros: class structure, self defense Cons: $$$$ pressure, Drama in the lobby more
