Editorial review from Citysearch 4/30/2013

Wow, I'm glad to know I'm not the only person with this experiance! Asset is so aweful to deal with, so much so, that I will never go back to Portland Advewntist, because they use Asset! My husband works for the school district, and is out of work for 4 1/2 months out of the year, when I make payment arangements, I always keep this in mind and make sure I don't bite off more than we can pay. I tried to make a payment arangement with Asset, which they continue to reject (because it isn't a high enough ammount for them, though they are the ONLY ones I have EVER dealt with to do this!) Most people are happy to recieve money and steady pay, this company is the lowest of low! I continue to explain that I can not pay what they ask for, and I continue to send them my payment, and they are now starting to threat garneshmnet (even though I am making payments to them) .... on a side note... SCCS (also works with Portland Adventist) is the most amazing agency I have ever dealt with. They are so kind and understanding, and always take what we can afford. I make sure I call them AFTER I have dealt with Asset, because it helps make me feel better to know that not all companys are creeps! I really wish the hospitals would get a clue and read reviews, and recognize that these companys ""representing"" them, are not doing them any favors!!!! more

Found this when making a payment 6/23/2011

I work in the sales industry and unfortunately have a bunch of medical bills that I cant keep up with. This company suggested I pay my bill off in full and offered a reduction in the interest. I was not able to do that so they then offered pretty high payments which I accepted and am currently making. At first I thought it was unreasonable for someone to demand me to pay this bill all at once but then I realized they were basically doing what I do at work all day long in sales. I have spoken to a few different collectors there and they seems firm but workable. These other comments below seem really unfair. The reason medical bills are so high is because a lot of people dont pay them! Is it rude to tell someone its time to do so? Of course they are about the $, duh, they are collectors. Its funny ""the best"" calls them uneducated and calls them bloodsuckers and even brings up the constitution and civil rights. The money is owed and you live in a Capitalist society!! more

The most rude persons I met in my whole life 6/8/2011

This company is rude, unprofessional and uneducated, it is a shame for United States Constitution and civil right in general. All they care is the money, money, money!!! No respect, no understaning, no human feeling or conscience, just solid rock instead of heart.. It is a shame we have in our society such "" bloodsuckers"", really is... If you are a client of ""Asset"" think again how many lifes you distroyed, how many hopes you burried, ... more

The most rude people I have ever met! 5/20/2011

I had more than one experience with Asset Systems due to many medical bills that we just couldn't keep up with after we have lost a house to foreclosure. After many harassing calls we borrowed money and delivered a check to their office in Portland. I went with my two little boys, four and six years old at that time (more than a year ago). Being on the road for more than three hours, when we got there my six year old had an urgency to go the bathroom. His tummy really ached and I asked permission to use their restroom. In the most rude way they refused to give us the key or to open the door for us to let my kid use the restroom which was on the hall next to their office. They told me all sorts of reasons why they cannot let us use it and referred us to go downstairs to the tavern to ask them permission to use their restroom. I told them that I will never take my two little boys to a bar. During all this time my boy was literally screaming that he cannot hold it any longer. I was getting so upset that I thought that I will just pull his pants down and let him go right there on their carpet. As I was still begging them to let me use the restroom, I saw with the corner of my eye that a lady was exiting the restroom so I rushed outside the glass door from this office to catch the door open to the restroom. I called my boys and my six year old ran in despair not to let go in his pants. A few seconds later one lady from the office rushed in to assist us. She literally stood inside the restroom, which had two or three separate toilets, to wait for us until my two little boys used the restroom (around five minutes). During this wait I asked her to give me her name. She refused. I asked her to give me the name of her boss. She refused again. I asked her to give me the name of the owner of the building. Once again she refused. Instead she got inpatient with my four year old because during our wait for my other boy to be done he moved around and the paper towel machine which was automatic released paper a couple of times and he ripped it and threw it in the trash. After I left that place I really thought that I will sue this stinking bussiness that is full of rude and inconsiderate people. Never did though, and I'm still getting harassed by them for some other accounts sent to them. more

Asset is the worst collection agency, EVER! 3/4/2011

These people are ruthless and demand to know information that I will not give them because they are so rude, even if you are not working they don't want to work with you. I hate Asset (strong word, I know) and the reason they are so rude is because they work on commision and don't care how they treat others with no respect and yet they expect everyone to bend over backwards for them Valley Credit is definitely the way to go, they at least treat you like your human and work with whatever they give you. more
