Best

Great food, great service. Spring rolls and crab cakes are a must, cannot miss. I've been going there for lunch once a week for almost 2 years and I never have a bad meal.

Worst

I was out there at Asian Mint for lunch with a friend around noon.\r Long wait to be seated and long wait for our food. Service was slow and inattentive.\r Hoping the food would...

Most Creative and Consistant Asian Fusion food in Town! 8/18/2010

The Shrimp and Chicken Basil is to die for! Order it spicy with Cilantro on the side.\r \r Ask for Jane and say Hi\r \r The Dallas Roll Rocks! more

holy moly 8/18/2010

This has got to be the best Asian fusion restaurant in the Metroplex hands down. Been here many many times, and its always great! I dont know what that guy was talking about, how the appetizers always comes at the same time as the entree, because that has never happened to me at this restaurant. Cant believe people would dare write a bad review and really dont know what they are talking about. Its ASIAN FOOD not Italian first of all. lol Holy Moly people! Anyways, if you want good food, drinks, desserts, and sushi then try them out, you wont be dissapointed! more

Good, but annoyed 8/11/2010

Been here many times. The food is really good. You will not be disappointed. Word to the wise...hold off ordering the entree until the appetizer arrives. Otherwise, they will both arrive at the same time (common theme with both restaurants).\r \r That being said...really annoyed that The Mint and the Asian Mint are stacking the deck ""The Best of Citysearch"" vote. Seriously, The Mint Asian...is one of ""The Best Italian Food"" nominees. And have 17% of the vote. \r \r I'm calling ""Shenanigans"". more

I Love Asian Mint !!! 8/9/2010

Asian Mint definitely tops my list of favorite Thai places in Dallas. Huge portions (pad thai feeds 2-3), bold, authentic flavors (medium spicy is actually medium spicy!!) and reasonable prices ($8-12 for most family style portions) makes this spot one of our go-to's for Thai. more

It's easy being green 8/9/2010

My wife and I love the Asian Mint. It's easy to get to, easy to find parking, and we love the contemporary, somewhat retro green-and-white decor. It's a small place, often with a wait, but worth it. There's a small bar as soon as you walk in, a good place to have a drink while you wait. But what about the food? It's consistently excellent. I get something different each time, but usually stick to the noodle dishes. Very reasonably priced and a cut above most Thai and Asian restaurants around here. Don't miss the green-tea cake! I mean it! more

Nikky always has great food!!! 8/6/2010

A few years ago, we had on in the background the show of the immortal Glenn Mitchell on 90.1 KERA when he had his periodic restaurant reviewer special.\r \r In additon to the Greenwood Grocery Store, one place that the reviewers were unanimous in raving about was this place called Asia Mint, across from Med City Hospital on Forest Lane at Central Expressway.\r \r My wife and I went there that evening for dinner after the rave review and had one of the best meals we have every had.\r \r Young Nikky ( many, many syllables ) was there, beaming at all the new customers who were coming for the first time to her immaculate, brighty docorated in greens and whites really great Thai restaurant.\r \r Since then, we have been back over a hundred times, frequently with out of town guests, and have always had an outstanding meal.\r \r One nice thing about the Asia Mint that we like: there is never a fight to get a parking place.\r \r We have found that Nikky can ba counted upon to always deliver a really great meal.\r \r Every time that we go there, I always think of the late and great Glenn Mitchell and how much he added to the qualaity of life in Dallas, especially when he and his restaurant reviewers brought us awareness of the Asia Mint. more

Asian Mint 8/6/2010

This is a great place for a date or with family. It's been the family pick for Mother's Day the last 3 years in a row. The food is fantastic, reasonably priced, and service always outstanding. more

Great Thai Food!!!! 8/6/2010

Great quality Thai food at reasonalbe prices! Don't let the shopping center location fool you. This place is so cool & comfortable --you relax the minute you open the door. They have the best Pad Thai in Dallas & if you are watching your carbs ---go for the Pad Thai no sen --no noodles --but you won't miss them in this great dish. My husband loves the Sliced beef thai salad. more

Dallas' Absolute Most Wonderful Thai!! 8/6/2010

Although Thai restaurants are popping up all over the Metroplex...there is none uniquely wonderful as the Asian Mint!! Without question its sister location, ""The Mint"" are truly a wonderful experience. From the moment you enter the door, the staff is consistently warm and friendly. Their menu items are flavorful and as well ALWAYS consistent. The menu is so appetizing that I the unadventurous seeks out to try new items from time to time. The portions are more than generous. My favorite items are the crispy fried spring rolls, Pad Ke Maw...and the MOST AWESOME DESSERT IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD is the green tea cake!!! SUPER FANTASTIC!! From my perspective the restaurant is moderately priced. Having visited since its opening, I note it is not uncommon and in fact a special touch to see the young owner (and her Mother) with a hands on impact to the location's success. The environment is unassuming from the exterior but chic and cozy inside. Rushes can occur at lunch and in the 6-8 hour as the weekend approaches. I recommend Asian Mint without hesitation!! more

My favorite Thai and Sushi hangout 9/22/2009

I love coming here for Lunch and Dinner. Their price point is so affordable and the value is amazing. Best Pad Thai in town, Pineapple Cashew Shrimp Fried Rice, Ginger Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Spicy Kung Pao oh so yummy! $6.50 martinis of the day, all day. $1 nigiri every Monday and Tuesday Night from 5:30pm-10pm with $2off all Sakes. Half priced bottled wines over $39 every Sunday, All Day! Gotta finish with the green tea cake or the sticky rice with coconut ice cream. Pros: Pad Thai, $1 sushi, mango martini, greentea cake, stickyrice more

it was not the best 1/6/2009

One day i went to asian mint to get some dinner.it was crowded with a bunch of americans. So the waitress took us to a table, got some drinks, and went straight to ordering. The server was disrespectful and didnt come to the table that many times when i needed something. so when we were done we asked for the check. Just when we were leaving we said ""Thank You"" but the server just walked away with no manners. I thought that i was not treated with any manners. So i will of course not go backto asian mint again. Pros: It was clean Cons: not treated well more

Cute place, Good food, weird location. 12/16/2008

IThe location is about as random as it gets, in a shopping strip right off the highway next to an Office Depot, but once inside it has a fun, very green and trendy feel, without coming across as snobby or tacky. (I wouldn't recommend going there if you want privacy though, the tables are tiny and squeezed into the small space)\r \r I started with a cup of Tom Ka soup, my favorite appetizer on a cold night, and while it was rich and had good flavor, it was not at all spicy like I expected it to be (and good Tom Ka always is), and the texture was a little thin and watery. But lots of chicken chunks and mushrooms, which is a good thing in my book.\r \r I'm a huge fan of thai noodle dishes, so my friend and i ordered the Pad See Yew and the Pad Kee Mao, both with beef. The dishes are huge servings (although still a little overpriced at $11 each) and came with broad, flat noodles (that were a little overcooked, but still okay). The Pad See Yew had excellent flavor, very sweet and light, and I liked that it came with lots of big juicy broccoli heads and spinach leaves. I got the Pad Kee Mao medium spicy (which looking back i would have gone spicier, because they dont seem to make things very spicy at all for thai food) and it was good but mild compared to the same dish at other places. Not the best of either dish i've had but not disapointing either, and there were enough leftovers to take home for an entire other meal.\r \r We finished with the Green Tea Cake, which was AMAZING. Layer after layer of cake, whipped cream icing, and green tea ice cream...it was so light and refreshing for a cake i couldn't believe it! Definitely the best thing i had all night.\r \r Overall, the food was really good but not quite good enough to justify the high prices, the atmosphere was trendy and casual, and the service was friendly and prompt. If not for the weird location, i'd probably go back there with friends--they also serve sushi and have an extensive drink menu i'd love to try. Pros: buzzing atmosphere, big portions, extensive menu, great desserts Cons: bad location, small space more

Food Was Great, But The Chairs Are Too Close Together 11/18/2008

I thought the food was wonderful. I however didn't like the fact that their chairs were so close together that I couldn't even look straight ahead... more

delicious and FLAVORFUL dishes 11/9/2008

I've been to a LOT of thai restaurants in LA and Dallas, but so far this one's my fave. Their dishes are so flavorful while other thai restaurants' pad see ew or pad thai are kind of bland. Their dishes are generally big portioned too. The only thing that irked me is that their spring roll did not have any meat or seafood in it. It was just lettuce and carrots or whatever else they put in it. Also Asian Mint is really pricey so its definitely worth it if you have a coupon. Pros: tasty fresh food Cons: pricey more

Great find 8/22/2008

I did not have reservations and was seated immediately. The ambience is very metro-sheek. We ordered the crab fried rice...it was awesome, not expecting a whole soft shell crab AND crab meat in the rice. Also had the Asian mint roll. At first doesn't look so good but it is deep fried, what's not to love about that? The flavor of the mango sauce and seaweed texture wrapped in the spicey tuna was to die for. All in all, it was a great experience. The lychee sake wasn't too shabby either...better served cold. Pros: Mango Martini's, fried roll, fried crab, fried rice Cons: Rent-A-Cop in parking lot packing a pistol just to show his brute force, but was forgotten when I tasted crab more

Best Thai in north Texas 6/15/2008

I cannot reccomend this place enough. My wife and I try and eat here once or week or so and never seem to get tired of the amazing green basil fried rice which we so often order. Personally, I couldn't tell you if the sushi is good or not as there are so many sushi restaurants in town that we focus on the Thai when dining here. Furthermore, the service is always as friendly as it gets. I don't know where the heck other idiot reviewers are getting the idea that certain races get preferential treatment. The owner and much of the staff are Asian, I'm white, my wife is Hispanic, and we have friends who have eaten here of every race, creed, color, whatever who have never had anything but glowing remarks about the place. Go figure. On a side note, expect a little bit of a wait at peak hours on weekends. But, as they say, that's a pretty good indicator or a restaurant. Especially one that's still packing them in after three years. more
