I was traveling through the area and read reviews on it and tried to try it out on a whim. It is a quaint place with a warm staff that is very inviting. The sushi prices can't be beat with the 1/2 price sushi! I totally recommend this place if you are looking for a casual dining experience with a caring team and great sushi! more

Asahi's 4/28/2008

Since moving back from LA and experiencing some of the greatest sushi I have ever tasted I wanted to find the best place in tulsa. This is the third place I have tried and it had by far been the best. I tried Tsunami Sushi downtown and it was horribly overpriced for quarter sized rolls, and then the flavor tasted like chinese buffet sushi. I also tried fuji's on brookside, they have fairly large rolls but they are horribly wrapped and fall apart easily and also not to flavorful. Asahi's has average sized rolls, affordable prices, and a decent selection of flavorful sushi...also they have handrolls(my favorite), something tsunami and fujis didnt. I like the atmosphere here...it reminds me of a few bars in LA, it isnt retro or overdone. There arent fish sculptures and bamboo trees covering 3/4 the floor space. I gave it a 4/5 more

I have been here several times since I have moved to Tulsa, OK several months back. I love the atmosphere and the food. It has a peaceful, yet fun atmosphere when it is slow or busy. But with the food and people, it is usually busy. I even had my birthday here back and March and had a blast. I highly recommend this place if you love good Sushi and Japanese food. more

I love this place. The people who run it are very kind and the sushi is great. It is not a fancy place and don't expect to go there for the "scene". At the same time, it is pleasant and clean. Go there if you want all the taste at half the price. more

Great neighborhood Sushi restaurant 9/16/2006

We love to go here for a cheap, easy, but very good sushi meal. This is definitely not the place if you're more interested in seeing or being seen than the food, but if you want a good average selection of fresh suchi for a tremendous value, you should give Asahi a try. There is rarely a wait at this restaurnat and the service is usually very good. The only complaint is that there isn't a great selection of "specialty" roles, so this is the place to get cheap good sushi, not to branch out and try new expensive trendy food. Pros: Good fresh sushi, Great value Cons: Not a ton of variety, Okay service when busy more
