I'm surprised by some of the reviews here, but I guess squeaky wheels get heard. I love this place and the proprietor is very sweet (and expecting!) I love painting pottery and this is a great place to do it. I just wish I could get my piece on the spot, but of course that's impossible since they need to fire it up in the kiln! My 5 year old son attended art-n-fun studio on 6/11/10 for 1 day camp. The studio provides a day camp and for additional $5 can provide a kid with pizza. My husband dropped our son and his friend after 9am and checked with Lisa how much to pay for the camp and pizza, she confirmed few times that it is OK to pay when we pick up the kid at 4pm. My friend came to pick up her and my son at 4pm and realized that that lady forgot to buy lunch for my son and my little boy was hungry for the entire day. My son told me that when other kids were eating pizza he was asking for pizza too but the woman said ?your parents should pay for it?. Nobody called me to check why my kid stayed w/o lunch. The lunch bag that I gave my son for breakfast was untouched since as Lisa told me on phone ?we are not a daycare and won?t serve breakfast after 9am???? My son was told by me that he?ll get pizza for lunch and was waiting for it the entre day. On 6/15/10 when I talked to Lisa on the phone she screamed at me that my son is a demanding and difficult kid and should not attend camp, that he can?t listen and follow directions and they are not a daycare. I was shocked to hear all of this from a childcare person. Just to cover her ass because she forgot to buy food for a five year old boy she yelled at me blaming my son to be hard to take care of. And she hangs up on me, which is totally terrible and inappropriate. My son is a smart, curios and kind boy who listens to his teachers in the preschool and follows their direction. I?ve never heard a single complaint about his ability to listen and behave well. So may be he was difficult because he was HUNGRY and you forgot to feed him??? Don?t trust this facility, on 6/11/10 they forgot to feed a kid, next time they may forget a kid in a park. The staff doesn?t care and very impolite. This was the worst childcare experience I?ve had in my life. more

We celebrated our daughter's 6th birthday here and the experience was not good. The engagement level and creativity of the only girl that was ""in charge"" was quite poor. They did not warn us with enough time to purchase the pizza. The games she organized were not appropriate for the space neither. It took them 3 weeks to locate the artwork the kids painted during the party, despite the fact that they lost track of a few pieces :( All in all, not worth the money. Will not repeat the experience for sure. Pros: Art selection is decent Cons: Where to start?! just avoid the place. more

I liked the place at once when I entered their studio ? spacious, sun lit room, decorated with great taste, and with EVERYTHING that I could imagine for pottery painting well organized in hand reach. I had my son?s birthday there. I really admired how the party organizer did a great job in managing my lively company, their painting projects, and kept those who finished their project earlier busy with fun games. BTW! They have great variety of different pricing options to fit the age and size of a party company. Everything was prepared and easy for me ? I may have spent only 1 hours on preparation and follow up of the party. Lots of convenient parking places for guests! more

We had great experience there! Not only the girls were happy, but the boys loved it too. A lot of cool choices for boys' taste as well. more

I'm focusing heavily on art in school, and am so glad to have this studio nearby! They will fire pieces you bring in for you, and they have very reasonable prices for sitting and painting. The staff is friendly, and the studio is great for a long painting session. Weekdays are quiet, weekends have more activity, and they fire once weekly, so plan it out if you have a specific date you want your piece by. They carry a lot of colors and some interesting special glazes, as well. Pros: Casual atmosphere, nice people, good value Cons: Can get noisy when there's a lot of kids more

I love this place. They keep the birthdays and the camps separate, in their upstairs room, so I don't feel too crowded when I'm painting. They have a good selection of pottery and a reasonable sitting fee (unlike some, they don't charge by the hour). They let me bring my laptop, have free net, and allow food and drink, so when I'm doing a serious project and am there all day, I'm comfortable. The staff is friendly- if you want to have a great painting experience, go in on a weekday; it's quiet, and the staff will happily answer any questions or give you design advice. Location is good, too- downtown Los Altos is way more laid-back than Palo Alto or Mountain View, and there's good lunch places nearby. Pros: Free wireless, food ok, spacious setting, awesome staff, big parking lot out back Cons: Only fire kilns once weekly more

We had my son's birthday party at Art N Fun. The staff was rude & the prices were really high for a kids party. I cannot recommend this place. Cons: Rude Staff, high prices, poor quality products, no parking... more

I would not recommend Art N Fun for children's birthday parties. We found the ""Art Assistants"" to be inexperienced and not very good with kids. Although we reserved a month ahead of time, the staff mixed up our scheduled art project & had nothing prepared for the kids when they arrived. Their party packages are very overpriced for what you really receive & the facility is not great for kids (the only bathroom is downstairs). We will absolutely not be returning! more
