Best Maintained Par 3 in Town 10/30/2006

Arroyo Seco is one of those golf courses that is easy to come back to time after time. The beautifully maintained fairways and greens make for a highly enjoyable round regardless of age or playing ability. There are plenty of trees lining the fairways and make for a challenging round if you have trouble hitting the small, but tough greens. The length of the course can be deceiving and is not simply a ""pitch and putt"" type course. It will require use of short irons, as there are a few holes that play over 140 yards off the tee. There is some water that comes into play on occasion, with a small undulating creek running through the first couple of holes on the the front and back nine. It should be no problem if you're managing to find the greens or fairways. The only drawback that I can think of concerning Arroyo Seco would be the tee mats. If they ever make the move to grass tee boxes, this course would definitely be a 10. When it's all said and done, Arroyo Seco is one of the best values for affordable golf in LA and is definitely high on the fun-factor scale as well. You should enjoy this course, unless of course you are generally a malcontent and/or very hard to please. more

fore!!! 11/24/2002

WHAT!!! this place is horrible for one the green fees are way overpriced $14 you can find much cheaper par 3's around town. the mats you hit from arent level and the greens are pretty bad. another thing is that it is always crowded(dont know why). p.s. this course should have a warning sign that a hard hat is needed due to the amount of errant balls. try Los Felis golf course only 4$ for 9 great deal. or Verdugo Hills (very nice par 3). Pros: friendly staff, good lighting, good for beginners Cons: over priced, crowded more

Not quite a top 10er 10/2/2002

I've played this course and haven't played any of the others in the top 10 list, but if this one is on the list then I'm afraid to see the others!!! What they forget to mention in the description is the fact that the holes are only about 80 yards each. If you come, come with your wedge and putter because that's all you'll need. Other than that, it's just as described. Definitley for beginners. more
