Good food, bad customer service 10/7/2008

I went to the dinner on Sunday morning for breakfast with some friends. The food was good and i really loved the eggs mykonos and the home fries. Also my friend loved the homemade holday sauce on the eggs benedict. Although we liked the food, the customer service was awful. The waitress was rude at all times and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Her manners were not friendly as you would expect from a waitress. Pros: Good food Cons: Customer service more

Arlington needs this 8/24/2008

This is the same diner from your hometown too. I grew up going to a diner just like this with my grandfather every Sunday. The Arlington diner mirrors the rest like it across the country. Pros: Great location Cons: Not so great coffee more

Okay customer service 12/4/2007

Food was very good. I've never had eggs mykonos before - once you've had it you can't go back. Potatoes ok, oj a little sour at first, but I still would go back for the eggs. Waitresses a little too busy to refill our coffees until after we paid our check. more

Bad Advice 9/25/2007

I had business in area so tried for a mid-morning weekday breakfast. Omelet was of large proportion, but nothing to write home about. Home fries almost burnt beyond recognition. More charcoal then potatoes. We thought waitress may have gone home until time for check. Other person in my party had pancakes which were dry and could have been left over from previous day. Both had bacon which was good and substantial quantity. When check arrived it was for a party of 4 who were across the room. It took several minutes to re-acquaint ourselves with the elusive waitress. We felt it was not worth a second chance. We generally eat out for breakfast and lunch around 15 days a month. This ranks up there as one of the worst restaurants encountered lately. We felt those whose award 5 stars must also enjoy hospital and military food. Pros: Location fit need Cons: Quality of Home Fies and Service more

low quality food 8/6/2007

The after taste of the, apparently, old oil was dominant. Big portions of food that was prepared and packed with little care. Certainly not what I expected for the price level. You can easily get better quality for less money in many other places. Stay away. Pros: the greek salad was good Cons: bitter after taste more

BEST LITTLE PLACE EVER 3/1/2006

I'VE LIVED IN ARLINGTON FOR 20YRS AND I'VE ALWAYS REMEMBER THE DINER BEING THERE. THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING. SERVICE IS VERY FRIENDLY, FOOD IS EXCELENT,PRICES ARE RIGHT. VOTED BEST BREAKFAST FOR YEARS BUT YOU HAVE TO GO IN AND HAVE GEORGE MAKE YOU AN AWSOME SAUTED DISH FOR DINNER. LOOK INTO IT YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED. Pros: AFFORDABLE, GREAT SERVICE, GOOD FOOD Cons: STREET PARKING more

Good Cheap Eats 8/13/2003

For lunch or dinner, it's typical diner fare. But the price is right, people know who you are, and the food is good enough. For breakfast however, this is the best place around. On Sundays the place is packed and you'll have to wait to get in. The cofee is good, the food is served right up, and the service is excellent. Your cofee cup is always full. I give this place real high ratings because of the breakfast. Voted #1 breakfast by the locals. more

S0-SO 3/2/2003

The Arlington Restaurant & Diner got good rating on your site so I decided to try it. I know its a Diner but it was slow when I went there and the waitress never came back to the table to see if we needed anything (another drink would have been great) or if our meal was ok. But we didn't see her until the end of the meal with the check. The food was very so-so to lame. Pros: cheap Cons: service, food quality more

A restaurant AND a diner--two in one! 1/21/2003

Huge portion sizes, and good old fashioned eats! The mashed potatoes are real, not from a powder. The porkchops are grilled just right, served with applesauce. The meatloaf is tasty, and, in a different twist, the brown gravy has a clove flavor. All in all, a great place to eat. Too bad it's not open late! Pros: Comfort Food, Friendly staff Cons: Parking on street more

The BEST! 8/15/2002

I have been going to the Arlington Diner for a few years now- it is the BEST place to go for breakfast. You not only get a ton of great food at a cheap prince but the waitstaff is great as well. I highly recommend it!! more

Piled High 8/5/2002

The Arlington Resaurant's breakfast of bacon and eggs comes with a pile of delicious home fries. The bacon is piled high and the eggs are always cooked to perfection. Since their are very few businesses on that portion of Mass. Ave. their is usually plenty of parking. Pros: inexpensive, excellent food, never leaves you hung more

Best All Around 7/29/2002

The diner's food is EXCELLENT. The waitresses are AWESOME and i love anything about it. It's a great family restaurant and you definitely must try it for breakfast! more
