Arita Restaurant

I was on a road trip driving from Bay Area to Seattle. I picked up a this July month Sunset magazine as I arrived and saw an article which Arita was first listed for best place for Japanese cuisine. Just like the article said " a hole in the wall wander on Phinney Ridge/Greenwood" It was one and the only...with no imitation ~ and incredibly good. I am a regular at Toyoda and Aoki and first time for a long time, I wanted to experience the Japanese cuisine somewhere else. I overheard a casual coversation at my dental office about a Japanese Restaurant in a local neighborhood serving delicious food and they were highly rated in Sunset Magazines few months ago. I went online and saw quite some ratings and decided to give a shot. It turned out as good as previous ratings had expressed. I tried their sushi and it brought me to an another level!!! Sushi @ Arita's is incredibly magnificent!!! fresh and reasonable price! My first visit there was actually referred by an article in Sunset Magazine. It was recognized as the best place to dine in for Japanese food. Since then til now I go there very frequently. My list for must have-- Tataki Sashim: that sear tuna melts in your mouth like krispy creme. White Salmon Sushi: rare but rich and tender King Salmon is undeniably the best that I ever had. For something you can't find in any restaurant, you must try their buttery "Arita House Style Chicken". It is guarenteed no entree can take it's place. I try Kasuzuke Cod every place I know, and Arita prepares it the way like nobody can. Only one minor thing, I went there tonite and I had to wait for 20 minutes for a table. Wait worth the wait...
