My friends & family have been eating at Arigato Japenese Steak House for 15 years and have never had a bad experience. Best place in The Bay to go whatever the occasion, I especially love the early bird choices! We love to eat at Arigatos whenever we get the chance. Our family enjoys the tasty food and the fun atmosphere. The portions are large enough for lunch the next day. The place must be well loved because it is always full when we go regardless of the day of the week. The people are always nice and friendly. We like the Clearwater location the best. My wife and I go to arigato about every 2 weeks and we love it. We have had just about everything on the menu and there isnt a bad thing on it. Chef Wang at clearwater is the Best. We cant stop laughing long enough to eat. Blake and Jacqueline are awesome servers, i never have to ask for a refill. The price is right for the food you get. $15 is the average price and we just went to Outback and an average steak was over $22. While everyone else has raised prices b/c of the economy Arigato has lowered theirs. As always a top notch dining experience for us. Pros: Cooks, Freshness of Food more

Took my family there for a birthday dinner. The service was horrible, and they added a large service charge to our bill. All of our soft drinks had a fowl taste, soggy salad in a dirty looking bowl. The silverware was not clean, the floor is grotesque to say the least, and they sat us in those chairs on the floor (yuk). I was trying to be a good sport since it was the Birthday girls favorite. I don't think I will ever go back unless they clean up their act. It's shame, because the food really is good, the yellow sauce amazing. With all the money they charge for a dinner, why can't they renovate? That was a $125 (for 3 people) I wish I had back. I will stick with Kobe from now on. we were given 1 drink each and never saw the waitress again,we walked to the bar and got our spritsX7 bad service all around.only the cook was good. after no service we were charged a tip charge for our absent waitress. all in all a bab experience, the one in st pete is better on service Pros: food Cons: waitstaff more

I have been here a few times for birthday parties and the staff have always been rude - grunting a reply to a request and never asking if I needed anything I always had to flag one down. I never was asked how my meal was I was simply handed the check with no comment. Another poster commented about it being dirty and I have to agree that the carpet was not something I wanted to touch. The cooks have always been nice and put up a good show. I have yet to have a nice waitress. They seem like they are mad all the time. I have been made to wait needlessly despite having a reservation as they wanted to fit 2 more people onto the table. with a party of 8 this seems rather greedy especially since they were not nearly full. The food was good but the meat was flavorless without the sauces which I am positive have MSG in them. While better than Kobe Steak House it is not high quality and the managment does not make much effort to see you are waited on by nice waiters. Jo-To's is better. more

I took my girlfriend out for a nice anniversay dinner, and I had heard wonderful things about Arigatos. When we went we were highly dissappointed. The wait staff was rude by not answering questions (completly ignoring my girlfriend at one point). The inside was very dirty and obviously not well taken care of. The worst part was probably the fact that their severly over-priced food made us both sick to the point of rejecting our meals on the way home. We had no intention of paying but at the request of some kind of compensation their only response was ""you said ok; you ordered it"". Rediculous!!! For $35 i would recommend taking your date to an Outback or a Red Lobster; especially if you are a broke college kid like me with no money to begin with. Do not waste your time. After eating there atleast 3 times a month for a long time now we were excited to see that they were offering food togo... i called, placed my whole order and at the end asked for a decent sized container of goody-goody sauce. They told me that they would charge me $.50 for each tiny little sauce container... now tell me if you are paying the same price for the food and when you dine in to eat they give you unlimited sauce refills and then sauce to go home on top of that why on earth would they try to charge you for each small container??? doesn't make much sense... needless to say i cancelled the order because the food isn't the same without the sauce..... more

Nothing bad and yet, nothing striking. Its a generic Japanese Steakhouse but its steady and clean and that says a lot. If you want a standard tasty meal, this is the place. more

This place was excellent and the service was amazing . I loved the food and the way they cooked it was just unbelievable, i wonder how much school it tokk them to do that. Everything they cooked was devine the autmosphere was just so warm and iviting. I recommend this for everyone. more

CHECK RECEIPTS!!*** I have been in love with this place for as long as I can remember. Despite the fact they have been on the news for ABC Action News Dirty Dining segment , I still ate there because there is no place like this (yeah kind of gross). I drove past Arigatos last week excited because now they have food togo!!! They make you hold the food with a credit card (so they say) and pay when you pick up. Well First of all they charged be over the phone and when I picked up. $120. I wondered why the bill was so high. So I begin to question. NOT ONLY did they charge me twice and try to say that it wasnt possible (later to find out it was) they charged me for Filet Mignon on all my meals because they say regular meat doesnt hold up as well, which Ive never heard of, But they also didnt tell me they were doing it OR charging me for it. ALSO I asked for Goody Goody to substitue for Yummy Yummy. They ended up giving me 8 sauces and charging me $1.50 for each of them!... I disputed the fact they charged me twice and Arigatos said they'd take care of it. WELL THEY DID BUTTTT I guess they took it among themselves to give themselves a nice little tip without my authority. WHATS GOING ON WITH THIS PLACE IVE LOVED FOR 10+ YEARS????? This restaurant is the perfect place for the whole family. Children sometimes are so difficult in restaurants, mostly because they get bored. This is natural. But here, there is so much for them to look at, be it the large fishtanks, throw pennies in the wishing well or just watch the goofy cooks, these kids enjoy the whole night and aren't a distraction to other people that don't have children. There is so much food that they love as well. For the adults, the food is awesome, best rice, veggies and steaks around. The tempura is out of this world. If the children are happy the parents and all the adults around them are happy and it makes for the perfect family atmosphere!! I would and have recommended this to so many people with and without children and they all feel just as happy when they leave. Pros: Great Atmosphere more
