Ariel Books is a great store in New Paltz, NY. There's a different vibe to this place being located in a small town especially with Suny College nearby. All the students come by and hangout over here and the Starbucks next door. Besides selling all the best-sellers, they also have a corner dedicated to the history of New Paltz with books reflecting the changes in this town. Lots of authors come here to do signings and it alwys creates a buzz. This family owned business has been here for over 30 years and treats everyone is such a friendly manner. Book stores like this one should be supported. more

Wonderful selection, great local section 8/20/2005

Ariel Book Sellers, located on Main Street in New Paltz next to Starbucks, has expanded over the years, and has a wonderful selection of all of the current bestsellers, and a really great local section as well. There are many books about local and NY State legends, I even found a book with my grandfather's photo in it! They have a good sized collection in the back corner of discounted books, and occasionally host author nights. Definitely a great place to visit. more
