simply delicious 7/14/2010

My family and I went to this place last Saturday, and we surely had a fantastic time eating together at Aria Restaurant. The food was superb. It was not stale and you can tell its freshness through its aroma and taste. The wait staff was very polite and the overall service was excellent. We would love spending another Saturday at this place again. more

Great american food at Aria 7/9/2010

We had a great experience here celebrating my birthday. My wife and I had a great time enjoying the American food with its great atmosphere. The server that night was so attentive with our needs and made sure that we had everything we needed. Truly a great experience. more

Terrible Service, Overcrowded, 1/8/2010

From the moment I walked into Aria I was treated terrible (I am in my late 20's). I was rudely butted out of the way at the bar by a snoby patron. We were then sat down in an overcrowded area. They had to to pull the table out for my girlfriend to get into the booth since there were about 3 inches of space seperating us from other diners on both sides. The food was fine, but not worth the price. We had asked for two of the same desert and the waiter rolled her eyes at us (which is not what I expect from a $400 tab for two). We were rushed through our dinner. We spent our time listening to the other couples conversations who were seated right next to us (they might as well have put us in a booth together). I do not recommend Aria. The ambiance was not what I was promised (far from romantic), the staff and patrons treated me like a homeless person (I was in sportcoat and slacks), and the food is just okay. I went in hoping to have a great date and left very disappointed. Pros: Nice bar area Cons: Rude staff, rude diners, and overcrowded more

Supasses Expectations 11/10/2009

No where else in the world can you get such amazing food at such a low price. I come from up North where you'd be lucky to find a restaurant like Aria that doesn't cost $50+ per entree. Aria really raises the bar with some to-die-for dishes at relatively inexpensive prices. The ambiance of the restaurant is phenomenal whether you're going out with friends or on a date (I've done both here with terriffic success). This is the only upscale restaurant in Atlanta I've returned to, and trust me, I will be back for more. Pros: Incredible Food, Perfectly Prepared, Great Atmosphere Cons: Hard to get in more

Amazing food 7/16/2009

My husband and I decided to try Aria as a wedding anniversary treat, since it was rated by Citysearch as one of the best restaurants in 2008. I read the reviews and was uncertain how the experience would be. On one hand, this restaurant was rated as having the best food, and we really appreciate good food. And yet, there were a fair number of unpleasant experiences, such as some of the customers who had rude waitors, or were seated in an excessively noisy location, etc. Pros: Great food (esp. bread and appetizers), extensive wine list Cons: The price more

Off the beaten path, but worth the trip 3/9/2009

Off of Peachtree street in Atlanta's Buckhead Neighborhood is this little gem, if you blink you may miss it. Went here last week for the first time in anticipation to try something new after dining at all the buckhead and midtown restaurants in atlanta, so tried Aria. Nestled between some sort of mixed use almost motel looking thing and trees on the other, can make this unappealing. But when you pull in the parking lot and are greeted by the valet, you can almost forget the low lit questionably sketchy parking lot that you pulled into. After getting inside, it was not busy at all for a Thursday evening. When you come in, they ask you to take a seat at the bar/lounge area set aside with beads (need to upgrade that). Then they pretty much make you get a drink at the bar to entertain yourself while you wait for a table (not sure why the wait if over half the dining room was empty). The main dining room reminded me of miami or some rendition of scarface. With white overpowering most of the room and art deco feel definitely set it apart from all the other restaurants in buckhead area. The food was good, the server was very friendly and responsive. Ordered the filet mignon with crabcakes, both spectacular. Would definitely suggest trying it out, its very intimate and you probably wont have to wait for a table, especially in this economy. Being in a strange location with no extreme pizzaz makes me think that this place might not be around forever. Pros: Good Service, Good quality food Cons: Forced waiting area before seating more

Excellent food and service 1/21/2009

Overall a very good experience. We were seated within 10 to 15 minutes of our reservation. The bar was crowded but the waiters took the drink order promtly. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. more

ARIA LIVES UP TO THE HYPE AND MORE 7/21/2008

After reading the reviews in the Atlanta Magazines and hearing nothing but good things, I decided to take my wife to Aria for our anniversary. We arrived and walked through the door and were very surprised to see what was inside. I loved the unique decor and artwork. It was a little crowded. I expected it to be. Knowing it is one of the most visited restraints in Atlanta. The serves was awesome. Our waiter was very nice and knowable able about the wine list and menu. The food was the delicious. We could tell right after the first bites what all the hype was about. The dessert was amazing. You can?t leave without have dessert at Aria. It was such a good meal and experience all around. Thank you Aria. Pros: Great food and desserts more

Watch out for the ""wine room""!!! 7/20/2008

My husband and I were very excited to go to Aria for our wedding anniversary. To say that it was disappointing is an understatement. We showed up (with reservations, of course) and had to wait in the bar about 30 minutes for our special table in the ""wine room"" which we did NOT request. Yikes! They took us down dark treacherous stairs into an even darker, hot and humid basement room that smelled like mildew. Despite the fan blowing directly in my face the air wasn't moving at all down there and it felt like a dungeon. There were some bottles of wine hanging around though - hence the name I guess. I knew immediately we couldn't stay there and when our waiter showed up we asked to move. We were given multiple eye rolls and lots of attitude from everyone we encountered as a result. They did eventually bring us back up to daylight but seated us right in the middle and it was extremely loud. The food was good but not great. The wine list was extensive but overpriced. Wait staff was rude and not very attentive. Romantic dining? Ah, no! Oh, and they ran out of toilet paper in the women's bathroom! Please. Definitely not recommended and we won't be back. Cons: Service, atmosphere, noise level more

Absolutely terrible atmosphere 5/13/2008

My spouse and myself went to Aria for a special celebration after the reading the outstanding reviews that the restaurant had and were truely disapointed. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation. Forced to wait in a too small bar that closely resemble a tomb. When finally seated the dining area was terribly noisey, quiet conversation was impossible. Food was so-so, certainly nothing to justify their earlier review. On a bright note they had an outstanding wine list. Pros: Wine list Cons: Noise, noise, noise and average food more

Best Food and Service in town!!!! 1/10/2008

If you want the best food and best service, go!!! We dine out every weekend at fine restaurants and this place always excedes our expectations. The celery soup is awesome, and the sweet potato ravioli is like a little piece of heaven!!! The steak is great. We have had every dessert over the past yr and can't decide which one is our favorite!!! Also, every single time, we get a fabulous server!!! The management if doing something right here so please do yourself a favor and try it!!! Pros: Food quality and servers... more

One of the best in Atlanta 11/29/2007

Aria not only has a beautiful atmosphere, it also has wonderful food. The service was excellent and the atmosphere makes it perfect for a first date or any type of romantic occasion. I had the beef sirlion which was AMAZING and for dessert had the warm chocolate cheesecake which was like heaven on earth. Literally everything I put in my mouth was wonderful and not to mention the drinks are fabulous too! I look forward to going back in the near future and highly recommend going here at least once. Pros: everything more

Very disappointed 10/22/2007

I wanted to take my bf to the best resturant in town on his bday. I decided to try Aria since few magazines had rated as the best restuant in town. I made the reservations 3 weeks ahead of time. I asked for the private room and told them that it was my bf's bday and if we couldn't get the room, I wanted somewhere more private and I also wanted a personalized cake. I called 2 days ahead and the hostest was extremly rude. She told me the room was not availabe and if I wanted the room I should have called much earlier. I asked if we could get somewhere more private and she said she wil try. Once we got there, it took them 20 minutes to seat us. Then they gave us a tabel by the stairway in the middle of all the chaos. Our waiter took 15 minutes to come and greet us. We decided to try few appetizers, 2 enteres, wine and dessert. We asked for his recommendations. Everything was just okay. Once it was time for dessert, they brought us our dessert. He forgot all about my bf's bday and his personalized dessert. Once I asked him for it.....he gave me an attitude and then brought it. They paid no attention to my request. I was very dissapppointed and I have no idea why this place has even been rated. Atlanta has many nice resturants....and this is far from one of the best ones in town. Pros: the dessert was the only thing that was good. Cons: the food and the service more

THANK YOU ARIA 9/21/2007

My New Favorite Restaurant 6/9/2007

My friends and I went to Aria on my birthday. I have to confess that Aria is my new favorite restaurant. The food is excellent. The service is superb. The decor is nice and clean. I had a wonderful experience. Thank you. more

Over - hyped.... 5/19/2007

First impressions were not great as there was no one at the front desk to greet - we had to wait a couple of minutes before we were seen throught the wierd chainmail curtain. The bar man was distracted by his conversation with someone else who seemed to know the all the staff so service was slow and impersonable. We had a table reservation for 9pm we were eventually seated at 9.45pm with no apology. The food was OK - very 'home comfort' - nothing remarkable. Wine completely over-priced. Reminded me of my grandmothers saying - ""fur coat but no knickers""! (translated as - might look grand but really ain't much!) Won't be back. Pros: Easy parking Cons: Slow service. more

Foodies Rejoice! 2/16/2007

If you are looking for excellent food coupled with fantastic service enveloped in a clean, crisp yet cozy atmosphere, then look no further. Aria is a step above and the Chef, Gerry Klaskala, is other-worldly in his ability to create the most exquisite food you have EVER tasted. We recently celebrated my husband's 40th Birthday there and Chef Gerry created a very special menu just for us. Without any guidance from me other than to say tell him we are ""adventurous,"" he prepared dishes such as braised short ribs, celery root soup with black truffles, lobster ravioli, duck, foie gras, and many other simply amazing dishes. Each course was paired with a wine chosen him and the Sommelier (who, by the way, is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly) and the combinations of the wine and food created a perfect symphony of flavor. It was hands down one of the best meals we have ever, ever had and we both travel extensively and eat at many well-known restaurants throughout the U.S. (La Bourdain, Masa, French Laundry, etc). We have crowned Aria our new ""special occasion"" restaurant and will be celebrating every anniversary, birthday, promotion and any other excuse to dine there. Words cannot describe the fabulous food, staff, atmosphere and overall experience. Pros: Fabulous service, wonderful staff, knowledgeable yet not snobby Sommelier Cons: It's too far away from our house in Alpharetta! more

Aria is Awesome 2/14/2007

Our friends have raved about Aria. So we decided to give it a try. What a fabulous experience we had. The interior of the restaurant was very hip. All white with very modern art. Check out the dog scupltures when you walk into the dining room. Our waiter Greg was wonderful, he said we had to have the celery root soup with truffles and parmesan. We split it. It was devine We also had the beet and goat cheese salad and the smoked salmon appetizers both of which we would recommend. He also suggested the Ribeye Steak au Poivre. I have to say it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It must have been two inches thick. very tender and very tasty. It came with these huge crispy potatoes. My wife had the Sole which she totally enjoyed. Dessert we shared the apple tart with caramel ice cream. which was also great. We can't wait to go back. Pros: The Food is Delicious!!! more
