Best restaurant in the valley - finally a place thats not like the chains and isn't afriad to be their own concept! I love the great beer seelctions, menu is great with hand cut ...

Shingle your roof with the fish and chips. 2/10/2012

I ordered the Fish & Chips. I have had some good burgers in the past but the fish was fried to a brown color and it was hard and very dry. This tells me something. The fish was clearly over cooked or very old or refried but it was obvious to anybody. The chef and the server should never have served this meal. The manager better have a talk with the staff or business will go away. more

Over-rated and Over-priced 12/4/2009

i heard nothing but great things about this restaurant.....only to be very DISAPPOINTED!! they advertise all these specials but then when you get in there it is the old bait and switch. When i called the owner on it, she gave me a ton of attitude. when i started to look around it seemed like most of the clientele were young kids.....as i saw my neighbors daughter drinking beer who WAS NOT 21. I will not go back - EVER!! Pros: good beer selection Cons: owner is rude, food is not fresh made, bait and switch you more

This Place Rocks! 12/10/2008

Best restaurant in the valley - finally a place thats not like the chains and isn't afriad to be their own concept! I love the great beer seelctions, menu is great with hand cut steaks and pastas made to order. The price is right in line - you truly get what you pay for here. The staff is friendly and very attentive to customers. Love to watch the games on the many tv's they have. This place rocks! Pros: great place more

Sunday Night Party 11/6/2006

Bartenders coming from across the border and venturing into a much smaller town then our own we did not know what to expect of the Arena but after pretty much closing down the bar with the other patrons we came to the conclusion that it was a great bar. Being bartenders too we know we can be abit critical of some bars but for a Sunday night, this place was great. We were greeted at the door by the doorman and manager ""Rob."" (not sure if they just didnt believe that our Canadian ID's were real) He was nice, welcoming, curtious, helpful with information, and not bad at making the drinks! (Thank you for the paralyzers by the way)...Not having milk was odd for us because its a popular mix for our bars but we managed.....50 taps!! WOW.....definitly a must try next time we dont need to be up at 7AM....The food was good....we did not get a chance to try everything but the pizza was good ( need to have pineapples for those weird Canadians!)....and the nachos were great!\r \r The bartenders were ok, I could agree with the fact that they seemed to have paid more attention to the hockey team that was there, but our waitress Cassie made sure we got our drinks and we werent ever sitting empty handed. She was excellent! The crowd was good and it was busy, but it did seem that VIPs did get special treatment. Understandable when I guess they could be tipping big...but so can out of towners :D. Music was good, and the live band was awesome!!....too bad they didnt play for longer sets. \r \r Great atmosphere for just socializing and drinks. We played pool and enjoyed meeting others from the city. We highly recommend it to others looking for an exciting night thats both fun and kind of low key. We are bringing back more of our friends in the next month to hopefully enjoy and experience the same fun and atmosphere as we had.\r \r Thanks again for making our stay fun....Hi ROB and Cassie...the Canadian girls from Sunday :) Pros: ambience, music, helpful staff :doorman and manager Cons: drunk guys a bit out of control, and service attention to other patrons or customers more

Great food from wings and pizza to unique entrees 5/9/2006

The Arena is owned by a husband and wife who take as much pride in their beer menu as they do in their food menu. 50 ever-changing beers on draft plus a large bottled selection. Everything about the food is great: taste, portion size, etc.. Service is prompt and friendly. The staff is knowledgable about the beer selection. Prices are unbeatable. Ask to get on the mailing list and you'll receive buy one entree get one free coupons in the mail periodically. Salads are always fresh and they have an excellent selection of dressings. Appetizers are filling. Wings are fresh and crispy. Pizzas are excellent. Steaks are always cooked to perfection. It does get crowded, especially before and after hockey games or during promotions. Reservations are recommended. Pros: Beer selection, Food quality, Price Cons: Parking, Music selection more

I really enjoy the Arena Bar and Grill. I completely disagree with previous review in regards to service. I have never waited long for food. I have also never waited very long for seating- no more than an average restaurant wait. But you are able to make reservations and when we have done that, we have gotten right in :). The menu and food are great- sooo many choices. The martini menu is also great- something for everyone. I highly reccomend it to family and friends all the time. more

As long as you can get past the horrible waitresses that ignore everyone except hockey players, the food is excellent and so are the drinks. But the service is horrible unless you ""know someone"" or are a ""friend"" of the owner. Don't bother going on Thursdays during hockey season, as the place is entirely too crowded with fifteen year old girls drooling over the Penguins. Pros: Good food, Good drinks, Decent prices Cons: Horrible service, Sometimes very crowde more

Terrific food and unbelievable beers!! 8/23/2005

My wife and I went to Arena's new location, 380 Coal St. with friends on Sat. 8/20. The place was very busy, especially the outdoor patio, there was a Jimmy Buffet tour group having a party. We got a great booth off the side of the bar. The new location is really much better than the old place, great u-shaped large bar, over 50 beers on tap. But the food was the kicker, for $15 to $20 each we had sea bass, talapia, tuna, and filets, all comes with soup or salad included. Overall a great night!!! Pros: Food value, Beer selection, Friendly service Cons: Can be crowded more

bad birthday celebration!!! 8/1/2005

We called for a reservation for 5 of us, and when we got there, we were not seated til 15 min. afterwards, after asking twice about our table. It was our sisters birthday, so we waited at the bar. Only one of us ordered a shot, yet 5 shotglasses were lined up. It was assumed by us, that it was a celebretory drink, yet the bartender asked for 15.00 after they were consumed. He was extremely pushy, trying to sell the highest priced items. Once our table was ready, 2 of our orders were wrong and a 3rd order had to be taken off the bill as it was burned and not edible. We had heard good things about this restaurant, however once there, noticed the definite lack of management. It seems the atmosphere there screams to their staff, ""sell, sell, sell"" without the personal attention. more

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST 8/17/2004

THIS LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED RESTAURANT HAS IT ALL! GREAT FOOD...GREAT SERVICE...GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!! THE ONLY TIME YOU WAIT FOR A TABLE IS WHEN THEY ARE BUSY! THE WAIT STAFF IS INCREDIBLY ATTENTIVE. THE ONLY TIME I'VE NOT RECEIVED A SEPERATE CHECK IS WHEN I WOULD BE WITH A GROUP OF 8 OR MORE PEOPLE AND THAT'S COMMON RESTAURANT PRACTICE. BEYOND ALL THAT AN AWESOME MENU...AND REASONABLE PRICES! WOW.............AND WHAT A HAPPY HOUR!!! Pros: GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, REASONABLE PRICES Cons: , SOMETIMES CROWDED more
