Amazing staff that know your pet by name. I rarely have to wait in the waiting room to see a vet or pick up a rx. Dr. Davis is always upbeat and patiently answers every one of my questions. She prints out with information on how I can effectively treat my dog and I leave feeling like I have an clear plan on what I can do to keep my Pocko's kidney disease in check. Also, the front desk and technicians always seem so happy to see you when you walk in. A lot of vets I had been to looked irritated that they had yet another person to see and more work to do. Overall I would 100% feel confident in recommending Arbor Animal Clinic (and Dr Davis!) to everyone who wants caring and affordable pet care! more

Excellent Vet Care 5/22/2012

I just discovered Arbor Animal Clinic last month, and what a fortunate discovery for me! I have made 2 visits to the Clinic, and have been highly impressed both times. The receptionists who greet you are friendly, attentive, well-organized and professional. \r \r On both Saturdays, Jason the Vet Technician was there with the Veterinarians to help. I was very impressed with the way Jason took care of my pets, and the way he communicated with me about them. He was mature, professional, caring and knowledgeable. Jason made me feel quite comfortable about bringing my pets to this Clinic. \r \r On the first occasion, I brought in my cat Tutankhamun, who had mysteriously stopped eating. I was so fortunate to see cat-lover Dr. Laurie Dulaney that Saturday, who impressed me by asking ALL the right questions about Tutankhamun. She did tests on Tutankhaman, treated him, and re-hydrated him. Shortly thereafter, Tutankhamun was back to eating again, and has been doing just great ever since! I was highly impressed by Dr. Dulaney’s care, concern and obvious knowledge about cats. Dr. Dulaney is extraordinary. The Clinic also followed-up by calling me at home to ask how Tutankhamun was doing.\r \r On the second occasion, I brought in my new puppy Sophie for her puppy shots and tests, and was fortunate to see Dr. Rebecca Davies. Dr. Davies did an excellent job caring for Sophie, and I was also very impressed with her kind and professional manner. Jason and Dr. Davies discovered a hernia on little Sophie, which I never would have known about otherwise. \r \r I have been to a number of vet clinics in Austin, and Arbor Animal Clinic certainly stands out for me. I can say whole-heartedly that this is an extraordinarily good place to take your pets, where you will be assured of caring, excellent vet care at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend Arbor Animal Clinic. \r \r more

Dr Dulaney is AWEFUL 9/18/2011

I have been bringing my pets here for years (2 dogs, 3 cats). Once they were all gone I waited two years to get another dog, and I began taking her as well.\r \r For one of her rounds of vaccinations (she was between 7 months and 1 year--I don't remember exactly) she got her shots and everything went fine as usual. Then they wanted a fecal sample and she for whatever reason didnt want them playing with her rear end so she resisted. The tech got another tech and they tried to hold her down. Long story short they tried to muzzle her, took her in back to try to muzzle her, since she started snapping at them but never bit anyone. Instead of just leaving her alone they overdid it. I should have known better but none of my dogs ever had problems at the vet so I figured they knew what was best since it is their job--they DID NOT.\r \r On her latest visit for her yearly exam--she is 16 months--she was fine in the office. They put us in the same room as before and she started acting different and I didn't pick up on it right away. They took her to the back to get blood and fecal samples. Dulaney came back and explained that she was snapping at people and they tried to muzzle her. Then she started talking about anxiety medicine. I asked why and she said because she would have to take some and come back so she was more calm.\r \r Long story short again I explained what happened on our last visit and told Dulaney the way she is acting is a direct result of her experience last time and it was her staff that traumatized her. She is an overly friendly dog so this is completely out of character for her. I asked the vet to see if she could try the examination so she crouched down, my dog wagged her tail and walked up to her and nudged her hand to get a pet, and Dulaney just sat there--didn't pet her or say anything to her to calm her or let my dog know she was friendly. My dog walked back to her corner. I was furious. My dog makes an effort and this vet makes no effort to comfort her or make her feel welcome. What a joke!\r \r On leaving all the vets and techs hid in the back while the poor front desk girl talked with me. She wanted to sell me a bottle of anxiety pills--which Dulaney had already explained may or may not work. I asked if I was getting a discount on them since this office caused the problem--of course not. Also I asked why I would neet to buy a whole bottle if all she needs is a few for ONE yearly visit.\r \r In the end I decided to go elsewhere without the drugs. I never got an apology, they took no responsibility for what happened, and didn't even offer to look into the matter or research what had happened in the past. I am so disappointed in this office and especially Dulaney who I now remember from my other pets. She is a MORON. If you feel the need to use this office, do not use her. She is the worst vet. \r \r I took my pets here for about 10 years and they have gotten worse and worse. I agree with the other comment that they are only in it for the money. Now I may be stuck with a dog that is scared of the vet for the rest of her life. Thanks Arbor Animal clinic, great job!\r \r \r more

I love Dr. Faught 6/10/2010

Both my cat and my Great Dane see Dr. Faught and as long as I live in Austin he will be the only vet they see. Sadly my dog has food allergies. When we discovered the issue Dr. Faught helped me get to the bottom of the problem and find her a diet that does not upset her stomach. Additionally he was understanding about my limited budget and did what he could to keep the costs down. I appreciate that he is straight forward and honest with out delivering negative information in a harsh manner. His bed side manner leaves nothing to be desired. Finally, every one else I come in to contact with at arbor treats my animals with the care and consideration that I do. I can not express in words how much i appreciate everything they have done for us over the years. Pros: Great staff, kind to your wallet, honest more

I love everything about this place 11/6/2009

We moved here 3 years ago and left a wonderful vet behind, very nervous to find a trustworthy vet but were very pleased when we found Arbor Animal Clinic. Our dog Max has very bad allergies and tends to chew himself till he has sores, and it becomes very painful for him. Everyone was very educated and gave great advice and were able to care for his needs. They suggested a different food as well as over the counter meds, nothing that was going to break the bank!! We recently just got a puppy and brought Olive in for her first visit and they explained everything that was important for her growth and health. They also sent us home with a care package for her and a ton of information on what to expect. Every vet there is amazing, we see first available and never worry. The staff is great and the place is very clean! My favorite part is that the dogs love going there and everybody knows them when returning! Great place! Pros: Can get you in all the time, very friendly more

Arbor Animal Clinic - visit at your own risk 11/1/2009

All this vet hospital (I will not name the vet who took care of my pet because I think all the vets there have the same focus: money!) was concerned about was how much money they could get out of me. Did all the tests, didnt diagnose anything, but treated my cat with as many expensive procedures as possible based on some assumptions, NOT diagnosis. She talked round and round and every conversation ended with suggestions for more tests and more procedures, that's all. In the end, after subjecting my cat to torture and unnecessary procedures, they started telling me that if I was not cooperating with their continued treatment for my cat (so they could continue to run up my bill without proper diagnosis!!), their suggestion was to euthanize him - so they could make more money!! I took in a sick cat, brought home a much sicker cat and nursed him back to health myself. He only had a minor ailment that they made worse because they wanted money - I am lucky to have gotten away with a $70 more

Don't say you weren't warned! 10/31/2009

She talked round and round and every conversation ended with doing more tests, that's all.\r \r In addition, their entire focus - doctor, staff and office staff was on what they could get out of me and how much they could run up my bill. He only had a minor ailment that they made worse because they wanted money - I am lucky to have gotten away with a $700 bill and my cat alive.\r \r Take your pet here at your own risk. All they see is $$$!\r \r And BTW, friendliness is no substitute for proper diagnosis and correct treatment for ailments. All those smiles dont make it up for making my cat much worse than he actually was, for subjecting him to unnecessary procedures all for the sake of money! \r \r I checked with another vet right after taking my cat back home and a course of antibiotic was all he really needed in the first place and Arbor animal clinic cost me $700! Pros: Tall talk Cons: At best - inexperienced, at worst - deliberately mercenary more

Very kind and informed vet 3/24/2009

I've been taking my dog for care here for 4 years and have had very good experiences from regular shots to emergency injuries. They are very nice and keep track of all my dog's health details and history. I would definitely recommend all the doctors and nurses that I've worked with at this clinic. Pros: good quality care, help you price different options more

I've been bringing my pets here since 2001 2/17/2009

I have used other vet clinics in the Austin area. I wont do that again! Dr.Faught has been my vet since 02 or 03 and without a doubt is the best for my dogs. He works currently at the Arbor Animal Clinic, but if he ever moved or changed locations I would definitely try to follow. thats just to say how much I trust his professional evaluations and advice. Pros: everything more

Arbor Animal Clinic was professional and very caring with my two pet kittens. 10/25/2007

I highly recommend Arbor Animal Clinic! Dr. Faught was very professional and very caring with my two new kittens. Their neuter and de-claw were handled with great care. The clinic followed up afterward twice to see how my kittens were doing. Their receptionists were extremely competent as well. They were awesome! Pros: Very competent staff, caring doctors, efficient staff, good follow through. more

They SAVED my dog! 12/27/2006

While visiting the Williamson County Humane Society one day, I came across the saddest little dog I had ever seen. The dogs she was sharing a kennel with would not let her eat, and she was extremely malnourished. I immediately adopted her with the hopes of saving her. On her first visit we found out that not only was she about 20 lbs underweight, but she had a horrible upper repiratory infection, some worms, and some sort of stomach virus. I had never been to this vet before but Dr. Hunt and I became well acquainted after numerous visits over a couple of weeks. We really weren't sure if my dog ""Bailey"" was going to make it, but now a couple months later she is healthy, active, and loving. I don't know what I would have done without the emotional support and medical expertise of Dr. Hunt. Pros: Friendly, Affordable, Plenty of Parking more

The absolute BEST Veterinarian Clinic in Austin. 10/30/2006

You will not find a more adept, clean and friendly Veterinarian clinic anywhere in Austin. My animals have been patients for over ten years and even though I have moved to Kyle, I still go out of my way to take my pets there. A few of the very sweet technicians even remember my name and my pets name when I walk in the door. In a city this size, it's nice to be treated like a real person rather than just another paying customer. When my cat developed urinary tract disease and was in their care for a month, they called me frequently to tell me how he was doing and encouraged me to come and visit him anytime I wanted to while a lot of other places would either refuse or discourage it. Thanks to their superb care and spot-on diagnosis, George is back to his cheerful and healthy self and I couldn't be happier. Pros: Service, Parking, Friendly more

Mixed Review 7/27/2005

I took my dog to Arbor Animal Clinic for 3 years before changing to a veterinarian closer to my home. I liked all the doctors at Arbor. They were very knowledgeable and thorough. The office staff was extremely kind. I liked how they would call to follow up on your pet to see how they were doing. I really disliked how they were NEVER on time to see my pet. I spent a long time waiting in a small examining room that was very hot and uncomfortable. PROS: Kind and Knowledgeable Staff CONS: Never on time, rooms were hot more

Highy Highly Recommended 4/20/2005

There is another Dr at this clinic. Ruth Ann Lobos. She is absolutely wonderful. I could not have asked for a better Dr to take care of my dog's surgery. If I had kids I would probably try to take them to her. All of the vets here are extremely compassionate, well mannered, and understanding. They care more about animal welfare than they do their own. They took the absolute best care of my dog down to the last detail. I also rec'd calls at home just to check on him. Everytime I had a question, the Dr herself came on the line to speak to me. The entire staff if just amazing and completely awesome. If you are not taking your pets to this clinic, your pets are seriously missing out on the best care in Austin. Pros: Awesome Staff, Compassionate, Good prices more
