I enjoy this shop 5/10/2008

I have a 75 gallon saltwater reef tank. Most of the livestock in my raank has come from this store and I have no complaints. I like that they have some unique items that none of the other shops in town carry, but I wish they had more in the way of quantity. The staff here seem more knowledgeable than other stores in town. Pros: Unique livestock, highly knowledgeable staff Cons: Quantity and diversity of available livestock could be better more

Good for equipment or supplies 5/12/2007

They actually have a good selection of filters (Eheim, Tunze), aquariums and other supplies in stock (like polyfilters that many stores seem to be out of). The staff is very friendly. They rarely--if ever--sell tank-raised animals. They almost always have a puffer--or some other large fish--that appears to be barely alive. So it can be depressing if you care about fish health, and are not in the hobby just to impress people who visit your home. If you buy their livestock you'd be crazy not to quarantine them before putting them in your main tank. But this is pretty much standard for local fish sellers; only the now-closed Austin Aquariums had healthy fish, and even they only in the beginning of their run. Pros: Good supplies and equipment; friendly Cons: Like all local stores fish health not great more

Very average 4/16/2007

The saltwater selection is minmimal. One nice reef tank, a few overpriced unhealthy corals, a small selection of saltwater fish, not a good display of corals or saltwater fish and really NOT worth the prices. The freshwater selection is much better. Pros: clean store Cons: pushy sales girls, not very smart more

Healthy Tropical Fish! 9/12/2005

Aquatek is a tropical fish store with some of the healthiest fish Ive ever seen. The place is small but the selection of fish and supplies is excellent. Im a tropical fish lover so I know where to buy great fish and plants. The staff is very knowledgeable about fresh water and salt water tanks so you can really get some good advice and tips from them. Its a little higher priced than most places but its worth it.. more

Best aquarium shop in town 1/11/2004

They have the healthiest, better looking fish and plants in town, hands down. While others might have cheaper fish, it doesn't do you any good if they infect your entire tank. I trust these guys. Pros: good value, great selection, quality products more
