This place is a racket! 9/11/2011

Do not rent anything from this place! I rented a Waverunner and a boat with some friends and got charged an extra $190 upon returning because they found a small scratch BEHIND THE BUMPER. There is no way anyone could have seen such a scratch during the walk-through. When we looked at some other Waverunners right next to ours, we saw that a few of them had bumpers which were screwed on very loose as well. We pointed this out to the owner's son, and he ignored this and restated that there was a scratch that was not circled during the walk-through, therefore we must have crashed into something and caused $190 worth of damages. All our attempts to reason were then cut short when the owner came out and yelled at his son to stop talking to me, then cut off all debate, saying, ""when you're ready to pay, you can check out inside"", then disappearing inside himself, to hide in his office. Obviously I'm not going to walk away because they have a $1,000 deposit from me. The only other choice was to pay the extortion to get the rest of my deposit back, and they know this. These crooks can and will do this again to whoever they want, whenever they feel like pulling in some extra money. So my advice is this: stay far away from this place. If you must rent from them, do yourself a favor and be VERY thorough with the inspection. You'll notice that they circle even the most barely noticeable scratches, each of which probably earned them a lot of extra cash from unsuspecting customers. So make sure that every single possible hint of a scratch is circled, and make sure that you don't cause any more while riding. Check the top, bottom, inside, and out, check for loose screws that attach the bumper, and ask to remove it to check for damages behind it if they are loose. And be sure to ride very slowly and carefully, and avoid waves and wakes. In short - go somewhere else. more

Unprofessional Owner. Broken Boat. 8/27/2011

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. Today, I rented a 8-10 passenger (1700 lb) deckboat for my husband's birthday. Ten of us (weighing approx 1400 lbs) got on the boat. Before we even started, the battery had to be replaced. Took 15 minutes, no big deal. So we set off for what was supposed to be a fabulous day of boating and made it 10 minutes before the boat stopped working. We called the marina and they did not apologize but said someone would be coming to pick us up. The owner of the marina arrived and hooked up our boat to his boat. He never apologized for what was the second inconvenience of the day. He was rude. He was patronizing and acted like none of us ever had been on a boat (although all 10 of us grew up on the lake). He towed us back and the guys at the dock (who actually were very nice) immediately looked at the prop and stated that the prop was stripped and one of the pinions in the prop was not correct - which caused the problem. The owner then came over and said that the problem was our fault because the boat was overloaded. There was no question that this was untrue. A cop out in the clearest sense. I interrupted the owner and told him it would've been nice if he had started with an apology before launching into an explanation that was clearly ridiculous. He stated ""I refuse to apologize for something that is not my fault"" and told me he would refund my money and we could call it a day. He walked off. After some attempted negotiation, he offered to let us pay full price to drive his 10 passenger, 1700 lb capacity pontoon. As excited as I was to rent another boat from this unprofessional guy, we declined. Everyone agreed that we would not reward someone this rude with our business. Find another place to do business. I have heard there are great people and better boats at the other rental places. This experience was a nightmare. more

Rip-off 7/25/2011

The underlings here were friendly and helpful, so I'm giving 2 stars. The owners were extremely rude and are probably purposefully ripping people off. If you visit the dock with their boats...especially if you're thinking about getting a waverunner...take a close look before doing so. Go down the line of waverunners and examine the front bumpers. It's not much of an exaggeration to say many of them are practically duct-taped on. There's a reason for this: 1) group A of drunken frat boys rents waverunner 1. They ram it into a dock somewhere, damaging the bumper and the fiberglass under the bumper. 2) group A returns waverunner 1, the owner and/or his son screams and berates them and charges them mucho dinero for repairs. 3) aqua sports adventures ""fixes"" the waverunner by drilling a new hole in the bumper and insecurely reattaching it. 4) group B of responsible adults, mostly engineers, rents waverunner 1. they're asked to sign off on the damages already existing. they proceed to enjoy it on the lake, never docking or approaching anything besides water. 5) by the time 4 hours of riding around and jumping wakes is over, the water has dislodged the poorly-attached bumper 6) group B returns the waverunner. owner and/or son screams and berates group B because the front bumper is hanging off, and (gasp!) look at all this fiberglass damage that's under the bumper! you obviously rammed something! the damage report YOU signed doesn't mention any damage to the fiberglass on the front! 7) profit. more
