Aptos Property Management

I'm not sure why my opinion differs so much from that of previous reviewers; maybe the company's practices have improved, or maybe (as seems the case with at least one of those reviews) previous comments are based more on some sort of personal grudge or neighborhood politics than on business practices. In any event, my experience with Aptos Property Management and with the owner, Mary Andrews, were overwhelmingly positive. My needs were addressed professionally and in a timely fashion, and Mary was even able to make some suggestions about how best to handle my newly acquired rental property that I hadn't considered. There was some work that needed doing before the place was ready to rent, and she took care of everything. The price was in line with, or even slightly below, estimates I received from local competitors. I have no regrets about continuing to contract this company's services, and am glad to have made a new personal acquaintance in Ms. Andrews, whom I found to be both friendly and competant. I'd be more than happy to recommend Aptos P.M. to anyone looking for property management services in the area. more

Our homeowners association recently terminated our agreement with Aptos Property Management. I would caution anyone to think twice before working with them. Ask for references and check them. I have dealt with Mary A. the property manager of this agency. In regards to the Adobe in Aptos, what I know is she is a slumlord. The owners are great, we in the community believe she cooks the books when not cooking or doing wine herself! Nice person when she is to the wind. Rents to bar people, no kids, no same gender partners, no pets unless she adores you. Does not pay her bills and has been a sore eye in the county of Santa Cruz. After a long time resident passed away with in hours she asked when the apartment would be cleaned and emptied. We in Aptos think she should move on and become a bartender, she would save money on drinks. Her rental units are cool, she does little improvemnet and intimidates her tenants constantly. Uses dumpster at owners expense. DO NOT USE HER. Cons: EVERYTHING more
