Applewood Plumbing & Heating

Earlier this month I had need of electrical work. As I was in a crunch, I looked at ads in the phone book and chose Applewood. I didn't, unfortunately, do a internet review check. It turned out the diagnosis and repair were completed in an hour and a half. I did opt to not have one thing that was diagnosed fixed. Afterward I started to wonder about the cost. Some investigation and talking with others led me to become very unhappy. Essentially I paid $500/hour after a $100 coupon. Parts, if bought at ACE, would have been less than $50. The item I did not have worked on was not returned to its original state; wires are left disconnected and the screws needed to reattach it are missing. And this company received an award for ethics? And the owner Businessman of the Year? Pros: Quick Cons: Unreasonably expensive more

The customer service was wonderful at Applewood. They did what they said they would. There was a slight misunderstanding with arrival times and they took care of it immediately. Clay was a great plumber! I will request him for any needs I have in the future. They tell you the price right up front - no hidden fees. They are clean and professional! Call them! more

Their service person was very helpful and knowledgeable when he came to check out our furnace. He showed me the problem and explained things every step of the way. As a company, they are very big on supporting their community too. more

I look forward to commenting about our service from Applewood Plumbing, Heating, and Electric. We had two small flood lights anchored from the ceiling in our family room that needed to be repaired. The room has a 20ft ceiling and it was difficult to change the bulbs in each can. Walt Frizzell from Applewood was able to make the repairs, but noted that the lights we were using were outdated and only illuminated one wall. He directed us to a lighting store in Denver (Foothills) that had a remarkable selection of track lighting systems. We designed a fixture with five lights and then called Walt back to install the system. When I received the parts I was distressed to find that the main track that I had designed as an ?S? curve was straight. Walt said ?no problem,? and shaped the main track exactly the way I wanted it. He had the whole system installed in less than hour. We now have a unique track lighting system in our family room that is easy to maintain and that illuminates all four walls of the room. If you need a plumber, electrician or heating/air conditioning repair person, I highly recommend Applewood. I have used Applewood on more than one occasion and can say that I was very happy with each visit. They are extremely courteous, dependable and punctual. They explain what needs to be repaired and they give you options, along with prices. They even offer service contracts, which I find, are more cost effective in the long run. The last time I needed service on my humidifier, my contract had expired about one week before my service call--my repairman honored my expired service contract and discounted my bill! They always get the job done in one visit--no need to call them back. They always leave my house in the same condition that they found it--no mess for me to clean-up. We have been customers of Applewood for many years. We have also purchased a maintenance agreement which gives us some discounts when service calls are made to our home. Our home is an older home so we do have plumbing issues from time to time. Several years ago we also had Applewood replace our furnace. One morning not to long ago, my wife was taking a shower and I was downstairs and discovered water coming out of the floor drain in the utility room. I called Applewood and the gal in the office said she would get someone to our home as soon as possible. Within the hour a truck pulled up. It was Clay ,who I had never met before, but was I impressed. He was very thorough and friendly. We had a sewer pipe that had been damaged by tree roots. He used a camera and found that the problem was in the middle of the yard. He discussed the options that we had and under advisement, we replaced the pipe to the sidewalk. He called and arranged for a construction crew to come the next morning. Early the next morning they were here ready to dig. He advised me to have two pipe openings installed with the new pipe in case of clogged pipes in the future, as this could be done from the front yard. The job was finished in 6 hours. They left the front yard in excellent condition. They swept up the dirt and debris from the sidewalk and the street. My wife and I were really impressed. We bought an older house three years ago, and it needed extensive work. Being from this area and spotting their trucks around the area, we checked their references and they had excellent references, so we decided to use their services. We have been totally satisfied with their service. We just recently had the sewer pipes replaced and we were very pleased with the work that was done. Very professional, and the cost was reasonable. Someone is always available to come handle the problem quickly-no waiting for openings a week or more later. Technicians seem knowledgeable and explain what they're doing and what they found. Our experience with Applewood Plumbing and Heating was excellent. We had a sewer line backing up which we noticed at 10:00 at night. When it became apparant we needed help, we called Applewood. The tech asked a few questions, and told me he recommended waiting until morning to avoid emercency call charges. I mentioned that we were leaving for vacation that morning, he said he would try and get us an early morning appointment. Applewood called at 6:45 in the morning and that tech was on the way. He showed up before seven, courteous, professional and had the problem fixed and cleaned up and out the door before 7:30. I thought that they really listened to our needs and went the extra mile to fix our problem without excessive charges. Thank You. more

They were upfront about their pricing, and the electrician showed up when he was scheduled to. He was honest and upfront about what he could do ( we weren't sure what the problem was with our phone), and he fixed it very quickly. We were very happy with the service. more

We had very prompt service with good follow up when our sink needed repair. Applewood came out twice allowing us to purchase our own fixtures and have them installed. We had a friendly follow-up call asking if all our needs were met as soon as the plumber finished the job. Pros: Great service Cons: very expensive more

Applewood Plumbing has been great. I've used their services twice now, and will continue to do so. The appointment making process was pleasant and easy, they were able to send someone out on the basis of my schedule both times, and they were prompt and courteous both times, the technician was a 1/2 hour early the second time (He called ahead to make sure it was OK). The technicians were knowledgeable, friendly and neat, cleaned up after themselves, and made sure that I understood what was going on with the plumbing and what they were doing to fix it. They have a 1 year warranty on the their work as well, which I have never had to use. I have used Applewood for plumbing issues and furnace/air conditioning issues. When I called in for service the receptionist/dispatch individuals were courtesy and quickly found a time to fit my schedule. A call was made as the technician was on his way and a follow call was always made to make sure I had received satisfactory service - which of course I did. \r \r All three technicians who have responded to my calls were very prompt, friendly and respectful of my home. They explained the problem clearly, a course of action, and the cost for the repair. I felt very confident about the technician's expertise. Once finished each one clean up the area they had been working in. I brought a yearly membership with Applewood because of my trust in the service and the ability of the servicemen. Applewood provided great service for us recently when our AC went down. They set a time to service the unit and stuck to it. They called beore arriving to make sure I was home. I called Applewood on a Monday morning and they were able to get a service technician out that morning. Zach was very knowledgable. He presented options and didn't put any pressure on me to go with the most expensive. A couple weeks later I had another plumbing issue and I called Applewood and they were able to go back through the records and see I had service within 30 days. They were able to schedule Zach for the following day and the warranty item was replaced. more

This is the first time in my life I have ever had to get a plumbing service but I felt that Applewood Plumbing was a great company to go through! The employees were very honest and helpful. When the employee came out the first day to see what the problem was he gave me 3 options that I could have done by Applewood and he DID NOT try to sell me the most expensive option. After deciding which option would be best for me the appointment was set up. Applewood's employ was there on time and went right to work. I live in a condo with a very old HVAC unit that works both centrally through the condo building and independent in terms of controlling heat/air to my individual condo. The HVAC unit had quit working altogether. There was no wiring schematic and no manual. When the cover was taken off the unit, the visible tubing and wiring was scary to say the least. The Applewood Tech was patient and diligent and perservered until he found the wire that had shorted out and disabled the unit. I truly believe many techs would have simply given up, charged me the service call and wished me good luck! I will definitely recommend Applewood and will use them again. more
