If you want to get screwed by the auto policy with Apollo. My car was flooded and in result towed away by Apollo in order to estimate the damage. At first they said it will cost about $950 to fix it though the car had a water level up to the top of the steering wheel. Of course I din't agree with their estimate as the body shop where vehicle was kept told me that they can't touch it for this money. After a month they came up with a conclusion that the vehicle is classified as ""total loss"" and they estimated the value of it for $3950 (less $500 deductible) though real market value was $6000. They wanted to deduct the damage caused by their towing truck plus another $500 deductible for second accident as it was not caused by flood. Finally after 3 months of stressful negotiations we settled for $4750 plus the cost of car replacement ( new car tax, license plates, city sticker). After 15 weeks still didn't get refund for car replacement. The company never, even once contacted me, I had to call, ask and visit them to get anything. Safe yourself a troubles and stay away from them. more

I've seen bad insurance companies, but this one makes others look great. They have horrible customer service, and they also are ridiculously slow on solving claims... oh wait, they still haven't solved mine! Pathetic! more

If you are in a claim situation with, Apollo, Delphi, American Access, American Freedom and countless other nonstandart companies that sell insurance in IL know that your claim will not get handled fairly and quickly. Contact an personal injury attorney ASAP. Even with the attorney the claim can take up to 2 years to settel and unfortynately there is not much you can do. Make sure your own insurance is with one of the standart carriers with good limits. Carriers I recomend for fair claim handling are: Progressive, Travelers, Statefarm, American Family, Geico, Pekin, EMC, Metlife. There are other carriers that are as good. Make sure you carry at least 50000 medical limit to cover yourself specially if you don't have health insurance. Good luck. Pros: Know thy coverages Cons: Dont trust the system more

BIG 0 RATING: MYCAR WAS VANDILIZED ON NFEBRUARY 25, 2008 . i IMMEDIATELY REPRTED THE INCIDENT TO THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT AND TO APOLLO CASUALTY COMPANY.. EVERYTHING WENT WELL FILING THE CLAIM THAN THE TROUBLE STARTED: EVERYTIME I CALLED TO F/U ON MY CLAIM I WOULD GET A DIFRENT PERSON EVERYTIME, I SENT EVERY DOCUMENT THEY REQUESTED TO THEM TWICE BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS KEPT CLAIMING THEY NEVER RECEIVED IT. I SPOKE TO A ROSA BRAVO THERE AND THE EMPLOYEE SHOULD NOT EVEN WORK THERE, SHE IS THE RUDEST AND A LIAR, I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH.... SHE EVEN CALLED MY AUTO SHO AND SAID TO GO AHED AND FIX IT, JUST TO KNOW IT WAS ALL A LIE..
