Good: I like the willingness to rethink the commonly accepted. For example, food recommendations and vaccination protocols are contraversial items, but the vets at this hospital a...

Take my Money 2/8/2011

Well to start with the girls out front mostly the short white girl needs to check het attitude at the door . Then his place talks a good game about what your pet needs and they do this because they want your money . This place is about taking your money because of the new rooms . The other thing is they want to run test on your pet then send them out and it takes forever to get results ! more

APAW is great!! 11/5/2010

I have taken my pets to APAW for the 15 years. My 1st cat had cancer. The doctors at APAW were very caring & compassionate. With my current pets they get the same attentative service. The staff know who I am & who my pets are. I am very happy with APAW. more

Disappointed 3/24/2009

APAW was recommended to us when we moved here in Nov 2007. We went, and I liked the service we received. Everyone was friendly, and we were seen in a timely manner. However, I have run into trouble over and over when I have tried to fill my dogs prescriptions online. First, they refuse to fax the prescription, so when I placed an order online I had to physically go to the vet and pick up a written prescription. Then, when I tried to refill it, they said that my dog needed another ($50!) test before they would authorize the refill, even though she had the necessary test less than a year ago. Also, they require Bordetella vaccine every 6 months (which I have learned is excessive) but since they do not offer wellness/walk-in vaccines, you have to pay for a visit just to get the vaccine! My dogs vaccine schedule does not coincide with her annual exam, so that would mean paying for office visits 3x a year! more

All women vets take an extra step ... 12/28/2006

I switched to New Carrollton Veterinary (now called APAWS) after unpleasant experiences with Beltsville Vet. Hospital in Laurel. I have been very pleased with the services my dogs have received from this place. The vets took their time to evaluate my dogs and discussed their findings/results throughoutly with me. I never felt rushed or pressured. \r \r I strongly recommend you this place! more

Good care place for my cat 6/29/2006

This veterinary is recommeded because I took my cat there for some surgery, first of all, the appointment is easy and there's not a really long period of waiting when I arrive. Everything is very friendly and both me and my pet get well respected. I aslo got a lot of useful tips about raising a cat which i never know before. PROS: Convenient CONS: N/A more

Great Care 3/6/2006

I too was given a recommendation by my neighbors to take my dogs and cats to New Carrollton Veterinary Clinic. They have been great. Listen to them regarding the Lyme Disease vaccine. I came from an area with ticks and never had a problem. However, not long after I moved to this area, one of my dogs came down with Lyme Disease. They are very caring and helpful and I would recommend them to anyone with pets. more

Very trustworthy 11/6/2005

This vet was recomended by a neighbor and I am very happy with it so far. The place feels like a family and I am greeted everytime with a friendly smile. I took my dig there because he needed his puppy shots, flea medication, and heart worm medication. They gave him extra vaccines for Lyme disease and kennel cough to be on the safe side which I am not sure if they were really neccissary so the bill was very pricey, but I compared the prices to another vet and they are about the same. You pay ofr what oyu get and this office goes the extra mile for their patients. PROS: caring staff, friendly environment, thourough examinations CONS: price more
