Would have only given half a star if that was an option. Office workers are extremely rude, leasing managers don't answer calls or call you back even during maintenance emergencies and the maintenance person is inept and unreliable.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW FRUSTRATING IT IS TO WORK WITH THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY! I have lived in my current rental property for 3 years, and any time I have had an issue-- whether it be sewage backing up from the toilet into the bathroom and bedroom (the week of my wedding no less!!) to blown breakers to a non-functioning garage door (broken over 2 months!)-- it has been impossible to contact my leasing agent directly to get the problem addressed. As a matter of fact, I don't think I have even managed to speak to Gary Huntington in the three years since I signed my lease.
So whenever there's a problem, you will have to leave several angry calls/voicemails for your leasing agent--which will never be returned by him/her to you directly-- after which you will be contacted by the maintenance man, Troy, who schedules times with you to work on your rental property and then NEVER SHOWS UP. This has happened at least five times since I became a renter. Not only is he extremely unreliable, he is also the least professional and knowledgable person I have met. I am certainly no prude, but I don't find it endearing or even remotely professional to have him drop 5 F-bombs in a two minute conversation regarding something that needs fixing. Then, when he does show up, he will undoubtedly provide you with a half-assed solution that needs to be properly fixed some time in the future. For example, a breaker blew and as a result my garage door wouldn't open at all. The solution? A giant extension cord run from the laundry room inside my home through the garage to the outside far wall, leaving my house unsecured, a huge cord for me to trip over, as well as a massive fire hazard. And it stayed that way for two weeks until I told Apartment Hunters I wouldn't pay my rent until it was fixed.
Your money is the only motivating factor for anyone in this office. The ONLY way I have ever successfully had a problem addressed in a timely fashion was when I threatened to withhold my rent pursuant to my renter's rights. I have had to use this tactic multiple times just to get any kind of response from Apartment Hunters, and then it only takes a week to fix simple problems, as opposed to several months time...
Apparently this company has never heard the phrase ""Customer Service is Key"" or if they have, they don't give a sh!t. If you enjoy feeling like a giant money bag with a dollar sign printed on it any time you need to discuss something about your property, please lease from Apartment Hunters. But, if you're like me and expect even A LITTLE customer service or respect from a place with which you will do extensive business, go to any other rental company besides Apartment Hunters.
