Best

Albanian hospitality is evident at Pier 4. The food, service, and ambience are very appealing. The lobster bisque was amazing. The stuffed lobster was scrumptious and delectabl...

Worst

This place is terribly over-priced and the management is quite unfriendly. The wait staff seemed ok but I felt bad for how they were treated. It seemed as if they were not happy...

HORRIBLE 7/8/2004

My husband and I went for a special occassion. After waiting 35 minutes for our bottle of wine our appetizer came out incomplete - luckily we could see from the table next to us who recieved excellent service what was missing. I ordered my steak medium rare and got it charbroiled. My husband prime rib was cooked on the grill! Our waiter even forgot our sides and when we asked for them he remembered they were out of what we ordered. After all this aggravation all we were comped was a cup of coffee. I don't like even like coffee!!! Horrible, horrible place - we will NEVER return! Cons: , snooty, service more

An Embarrassment to Boston 8/13/2003

Service was attentive. The trademark Pop Over was very dry and near burnt. The ""Fresh Salmon"" couldn't have been more dry and tasteless, same for the Tuna, and the Calamari might as well have been breaded rubber bands. I'm at a loss for words. Truly terrible. Pros: parking, interesting view Cons: food, price, food more

Wow, bad, bad and worse. Great to take your visiting parents if they don't care that the food, service and mixed drinks are really bad. Great view but go somewhere else. What a waste of money! Pros: view Cons: expensive, bad service more

Don't Believe Stupid People 6/24/2003

My friend and I had decided to eat at Anthony's Pier 4 long before I even heard of it. I went to their website and then here, the reviews here bothered me so much I almost decided to not go to Anthoy's, but my friend was so excited I did not try to change his mind. I am so glad too. This was one of the best meals I have had in Boston. From the variety of breads, mushrooms and popovers you received before the food to the the extensive wine list (its a good sized book) to the amazing food (I had the soft shell crabs). It was a delightful meal. I hope those of you who have not been here will go to Anthony's and have a nice of night as I did. Pros: parking, atmosphere Cons: big dig =hard to find more

we go there regularly 12/5/2002

My wife and I really like Anthony's. We dine early, so we get a seat by the water and look at the skyline. Though it costs more, I love their Dover Sole a la meuniere; Anthony's is the only place I've found that makes it the way the French do and I have searched and searched. We enjoy the small Glover salad with each meal. We don't drink, so that's not an issue. My wife really enjoyed the souffle for dessert. We go there every 2 - 3 weeks. We're happy with it. Getting there can be difficult if you don't know how. Pros: food, view, parking Cons: getting there more

Best Clam Chowder 7/31/2002

I think Anthony's Pier 4 makes the best clam chowder in the Boston Area. more

Rude, Food and attitude!! 7/5/2002

I have lived in Boston my whole life and never visited Peir 4. I finally went for my birthday yesterday. I should have stayed home. It took for ever before anyone came to wait on us. When we ordered the waiter argued about ordering potato instad of rice claiming rice went better eith the dish, when I wanted potato. He was very rude and never came to the table to see how we where doing. They should let a professional buy this place and turn it around. I recomend you skip this place. Pros: veiw, parking Cons: service, food more

Rude Staff, Less than mediocre 5/22/2002

Having relatives in Boston, I've eaten in many of Boston's terrific restaurants. This is not one of them! Ten of us, celebrating my nephew's graduation, sampled Anthony's. The staff, from maitre'd, to bartenders, to waiter is poorly trained and rude. Dinner took from start to finish, 3 hours. My dinner, filet mignon at $34.95 was served with a wilted salad, day old baked potatoe and a glop of bernaise. The filet was dry, cooked medium, not medium rare as requested. When one diner complained that her steak was not cooked as ordered, the waiter was rude, arguing with her. Servers reached across diners to serve other diners. NEVER, NEVER eat here. At best, this was a $10.00 meal. Pros: desserts good Cons: poor service, rude staff, lousy food more
