Mmmm... Anna's! 3/15/2010

Mmmm, nothing like a greasy Anna's burrito to cure that hangover! With cheap eats ($3.99 for a burrito) and ample seating, one can see why why Anna's has such a cult following. The quesedillas are delicious - just be careful, they define ""quesedilla"" as a fried burrito, not the sliced tortilla treat most Americans are used to. Pros: Food, prices, lots of seating Cons: Be careful when you order! more

Best burrito in Boston 2/10/2010

I really like Anna's and go at least once a week. Their chile verde is the best I've ever tasted. The salsa is okay, but I think the hot sauce more than makes up for it. If you order the ""plate"" version, you'll get a sizeable portion of rice, beans, salsa, choice of meat, and two small corn tortillas. I don't like that it's cash only. I've also e-mailed them several times regarding nutritional information and have been rebuffed every time. Regardless, this is an amazing burrito place. Pros: Chile verde is amazing Cons: Cash only, lack of variety of options, no nutritional info more

Just okay 1/12/2010

I find Anna's Taqueria to be highly overrated. They're decent, but they should not be winning the awards that they seem to consistently win. Yes, they make your food incredibly fast, but so does just about every burrito place. Granted, I've only been to one of their locations, but I've been a few times. I always seem to leave hungry. Sure they're cheap so you get what you pay for, but El Pelon (RIP) charged the same prices for their burritos, and I always left that place stuffed and super satisfied. I think you're better off getting a burrito at Olecito or Boca Grande, that is, until El Pelon returns. Pros: Quick, Multiple locations Cons: Not ""the best thing ever"" more

Best Burritos on Earth 12/10/2008

The mecca of mission-style burritos. There can be arguments made from those that prefer their burritos grilled, greasy, or generally more in the SoCal style. But make no mistake. In terms of mission-style burritos, Anna's is king. If this place came west, LA would be a sunnier place. Pros: Best burritos on earth Cons: Only in Boston more

Best burrito in Boston 6/9/2007

Anna's serves up what I consider to be the best made burrito in Boston. I have been visiting the place regularly for about two years now and have rarely been disappointed with my order. The staff can be pushy at times, even when there is no one in line. They never fail, however, to load their burritos up with enough rice, meat, and toppings to keep me full for a while. The chicken has always been tender, something I can't say about Boca Grande's chicken down the street. A few months ago I was shocked to find that their prices went up. I still manage to get a burrito, chips, and guacamole for under $9--a good deal in my book. Pros: Loaded burritos, solid guacamole Cons: Pushy staff, restaurant interior could use some work more

Gross and Uncomfortable 3/26/2007

Food was disgusting and not worth the price. The ambiance was also uncomfortable. Not an enjoyable place to be in the slightest. Pros: Nothing. more

Love the Tortilla, BEST BURRITO & great deal!!! 2/20/2007

I never like any Mexican food until I tried the wrap at Anna! I simply love the chewy and tasty tortilla skin... Plus, the reasonable amount of rice and meat.\r Since it is quite hard to rate a simple dish like a wrap, I'm going to compare Anna's wrap with a few others I have tried.\r Unlike Boca's burrito, Anna's burrito is a little smaller BUT it has more meat than Boca's burrito... Plus, Boca's burrito has way too much rice relative to the meat. It explains why it's a few cents cheaper (if you just wanna get full, go to Boca).\r Honestly, I prefer Felipe's meat filling (steak in particular) because it's more tender than Anna's steak... but Felipe's tortilla is rather tasteless and it's not as chewy. Furthermore, Felipe's service is rather slow compared to Anna's and Boca's.\r *TIPS: Sometimes the burrito-maker ""breaks"" my burrito because the steak is too wet... if you want a nice burrito with no ""hole"", order the drier pork filling... but if you wanna go for taste, go for steak burrito!\r yumm\r *WARNING 1: If you don't like greasy food, avoid the Quessadilla. You can't taste anything other than the oil!\r *WARNING 2: Anna's Burrito is addictive!!! Pros: Great Value, Tasty Chewy Tortilla (Burrito) and Super Quick Service Cons: It's always full (seating might be a problem during peak hr), Your clothes will smell afterwards more

STILL THE BEST 1/2/2007

Anna's is, and has long been the best place in Boston to get a Burrito. Compares favorably to the top spots in San Fran, which has the best burrito's in the world. Because Anna's is so popular - you're bound to have some voices of dissent....but trust me, much better than every other place, and it's not even really close. El Pelon is so so...same with Boca...Viva, QDoba, Baja are awful. Mexican Plate with Carnitas is a better entree than you'll get at most mid to upper mid level restaurants in the city. Quesidillas are also delicious.\r Pros: Best Burrito, Hands Down! more

Quesadillas are delicious!! 12/17/2006

My favorite Mexican fast food restaurant in Boston! Great values on everything. Burritos are average but the quesadillas are absolutely delicious. Not your typical quesadilla, it is wrapped up like a burrito but is slightly fried on the outside. If I'm hungry, I usually get two (one chicken and one steak). There are some long lines at times, but it moves incredibly quick. more

Best Burritio in Boston 10/26/2006

Anna's is it. Best burrito in town or farther. get the super quesidilla as a burrito (so that wrap is buttered and toasted) SO GOOD!. At $4 for it's also a very inexpensive burrito that is big enough to satisfy. The chips and salsa are a good add on for $2, I think. Argueably, Harvard St. is the better location, just because of seating, quality is good at all Anna's locations. Worth the trip. Pros: Flavor of food, price, seating Cons: they don't deliver more

Delicious, Fast, Cheap Burritos 7/18/2006

Anna's Taqueria is the best burritos for the price. So good, so cheap and you're in and out of there (unless of course your eating there) in less than 10 minutes. Be sure to get the super burrito with guacamole! \r more

Great Value 5/3/2005

For a quick burrito fix, Annas is definitely the spot. The menu is pretty standarad and the prices are great. It may not be pretty watching your burrito be thrown together but the end result is never disappointing. The chicken can be a little tough and I usually stick with the pork (carnitas) as it is usually the most flavorful of the fillings. The atmosphere is much improved with the re opening of the Harvard Ave. location with plenty of seeting and two counters to order from, which solves the one problem Annas had with there incredible lines. Pros: Value, Taste more

HARD TO BEAT IT 5/28/2004

essential 4/8/2004

This place is a true must-go. At least the one in Davis Square, Sommerville. Everything they make is delicious. You really can't go wrong. The service is great: fast, friendly, and they ALWAYS get your order right. Most important to a college student, this place is CHEAP. Pros: Cheap, Good Food, Fast more

Mexican 3/3/2004

I was really dissappointed here. I had heard alot about this place, about how good it was. I moved form Amherst which had a FABULOUS taco and burrito place. THose of you who know, know. WHich was a much better value for WAY better food. Anna's seemd to just kinda slop things together for a semi flavor less burrito which was not very large. All and all it was not as bad as say Taco bell but was not memorable at all. more

starting the slide 10/15/2002

Anna's used to be AMAZING... lots of great food cheap. Now the slide has started. it is still good, but the quality is declining. BUrned pieces of meat find their way into burritos. The veggies last longer than they should. The portions are MUCH smaller..... from very large six months ago to barely adequate now. It is sad to see a shining star falling from the sky. Pros: tasty, cheap, close to T Cons: small portions, lower quality, decline of a star more
