Best

Anna Maria's serves up authentic jersey slices. If you know good pizza, you go to Anna Maria's. The plain pie is to die for, but you can go for more adventurous flavors as well....

Great pizza, great price, from a local business owner. I've been going here for years and love it every time. The cheese pizza is great as is the huge variety of specialty pizza. You can't beat the price and the whole staff thanks you every time you come in and when you leave, which is the benefit of being locally owned and operated. \r \r If you want a great slice and great service Anna Maria's is your spot. more

Be careful and watch your ticket 9/30/2011

The pizza is out of this world, I have to admit, but I have been overcharged (at the HILLSBOROUGH restaurant) by as much as $6 on one order more than once. The sales girl was not apologetic and did not offer a solution to the last time. I am waiting to talk to a manager. Make sure if you phone in an order (Hillsborough) that you have them put it in the computer. Went to pick up mine once and they had forgotten to enter it. Take out. Don't eat in....dark, dingy inside. Again, I will get pizza there often. It is the best around! Just watch your wallet. more

They SUCK! 3/15/2011

My headline speaks for it all. These guys are horrible cocky lil bums that are rude and ""never wrong"". Never order the calamari or linguini. IT'S ALL BLAND like the pizza. If I HAD to name one half decent thing it would be the steak n cheese. But half of the time they tell you the wait time is longer then it really is and by the time you get it it's soggy. The pizza crust taste like playdough w/o salt. A straight water and flour mixture. Ive had been going there for many years but when the owners changed...so did the food. I give it one star because I can't do a half of one. more

Poor Customer Service - Mediocre, Overpriced Pizza 3/4/2011

I have been a regular customer for many years ...Pizza quality has been hit or miss last few years, but, its rather close to home, so I keep going. But, No more!!!. \r \r Ordered some food last night, and when I arrived to pick it up, the order was wrong!!! The guy that took the order as well as the Manager or Owner started yelling at me and accusing me of placing my order wrong, insisting that it was me that had made the mistake, not them. I told them I was done arguing and that they had lost a VERY longtime customer. \r \r Things happen for a reason, right ??....\r \r I ordered same stuff from Italian Pizzeria # 3 on Franklin Street......Front window says...""Daily Special...2 large Pizzas for $13.95""....so.....Saved $10.00 over Anna Marias, got the CORRECT order, and got treated like a human being....And Great tasting pizza.....I apparently forgot what real Pizza should taste like since I've been going to Anna Marias for so long. \r more

Big disappointment 1/12/2009

Apparently Anna Maria?s has become so busy they no longer care about their customers. I have eaten at Anna Maria?s Pizzeria so often they know my order (half artichoke, half pineapple, never mixed) when they see me walk in. Tonight I called at 6:30 and ordered two pizzas; one artichoke and one pineapple. When I got there, shortly after seven the pizza wasn?t ready (they had said twenty minutes). I told him my order and the cashier told me no, I ordered one large with pineapple and artichoke. I told him no and we actually argued about the order. I told him I wanted my order so he rang it up and then, with an attitude, told me I would have to wait an additional 25 minutes. It was already 7:15 and my two kids were starving. I asked the manager for my money back and asked if I could have the mistake pizza at a discount because we would have to pick toppings off before we could eat. He told me he would give me the pizza at full price because he could sell it to someone else. I told him that his people messed up the order, why should I pay for two toppings when they messed up? Never mind good will, frequent customers etc. His response was that he can?t lose money. How much money do you lose on one topping? How much money do you lose on a regular customer never stepping into your establishment again? more

Not-Quite-Decent Pizza... Again... 1/2/2008

I simply must beg to differ in a major way with the reviewer that claims this is the best pizza ever. I found the sauce to be too sweet and yet extremely bland at the same time. The dough is bland as well. The crust is neither thin not thick -- it is kind of a mushy in-between. The cheese was decent, but hardly of the quality you would get at a decent pizza joint. \r \r I'd give the pizza two stars, but I guess it's average for around here. It's sad to say, but I've now tried probably a half-dozen pizza places with good reviews in and around Chapel Hill, and aside from Franklin Street Pizza & Pasta, which serves a decent but not great pizza, it seems like the best place to get pizza is Papa John's. All the folks around here who have ever had a decent slice of pizza in Manhattan must be very sad. Please help me find a good slice of pizza in the Triangle! more

greatest pizza . . . ever 6/6/2003

Anna Maria's serves up authentic jersey slices. If you know good pizza, you go to Anna Maria's. The plain pie is to die for, but you can go for more adventurous flavors as well. Being a jersey transplant, I looked for quality pizza unsuccessfully for 5 years until I found this place. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the canolis are perfect. Pros: Great Food, Great Selection, Great Service Cons: crowded on weekends more
