2019 Spring Recital 6/15/2019

I just was at my granddaughters dance recital and was very impressed. She attends Anita's Dance Center. My daughter attended a different dance studio when she was young. She started dancing at the age of 3 and continued to go until she was a freshman in high school. The only reason she didn't continue was she made the dance team at her high school. Anita's Dance Center is far better than the dance studio that my daughter went. I enjoyed the recital so much - I hated that it was over. I was so enthralled with the dancing of the young men, especially the young man that danced in New York New York. He was amazing and stoled the show! Thank you for the entertainment! more

Simply the best ! 8/28/2017

Anita Olson director of anc, Brooke, staff and teachers are exceptional! Excellent at what they do, love being around the kids and are people oriented! It's no wonder the kids and the parents love coming here! more

Studio for all ages and levels of dance 7/13/2015

This is my first year at Anita's Dance Center and it has been a wonderful experience. My daughter has been dancing for 11+ years. We have done park/rec classes, Poms teams, other studios, dance conventions, dance camps and this very large studio has been a great addition to my daughter dance education. It is a very large studio which differs greatly from smaller studio experiences. They do billing on paper as the complaint states although I do not see that as a problem in any way, it is there choice. When I questioned a charge it was handled promptly, professionally and I was given the "benefit of the doubt" treated with respect regarding the issue. If you are interested in performance or competition teams billing can get more confusing, which has been the case at every team I have been involved in. Overall I found my cost significantly less than at other studios and once I understood the system for billing everything was fine, for a highly competitive dancer Regarding "children" teaching, they are very skills dancers that are supervised by adults for the beginning level classes, they first work as assistants then may be offered teaching position if they meet the criteria necessary. They are typically students who have danced over 10 years and often have valuable insight , skills and knowledge for students. They act as mentors and are mature, professional and an asset to the studio. If you don't want a young adult to teach your child I would mention that when you sign up for classes. I recommend trying it before you decide it isn't right. Young adults mentoring young children is a positive. Most studios offer teaching assistant positions to older dancers as a form of learning for the advanced dancer, it is common practice in all studios I have been involved in. This is a very large studio yet Anita is very involved and knows her students. The large studio offers more opportunities to dancers who love to perform but may not be ready for a competition team. I highly recommend ANITA'S DANCE CENTER more

Sad excuse of a studio 6/20/2014

To start off I would like to advise you not to send your child to this studio and start looking into others. The staff is untrained and sometimes may even be the age of your son/ daughter. The shows are poorly crafted for example if you were to go to another studios recitals each dance would be perfected but at Anita's sometimes girls go on the stage without even knowing their routines. Also certain girls are poorly treated at the studio by staff and their "elders". The entire studio is based off of seniority not actually who may be the best dancer. Plus if your family helps Anita out you are more likely to get into better classes or better dances if you compete with her. To add also Anita herself doesn't even teach the students ever she is not trained in all styles of dance that she portrays herself to be. Plus they record all of their students on paper, they have zero computers to document anything. Strange right? It would be easier for them to keep all records on computers, if they actually wanted to keep record of who all danced at the studio, which they don't. They keep everything very private. more

Unprofessional 5/19/2011

They do not answer their phones, nor their emails. Anita has kids teaching kids. The office staff is rude 90% of the time. It's a racket. Anita boasts about how wonderful the dance team is and they very may be good but what about the other classes? They really don't put much effort into those. The building is dirty, the bathroom faucets spray all over you when you try to use them. It's too bad because the building itself has potential. Don't get sucked into referring friends for the money off coupon. They don't give you the coupon till near the end of the semester (even though they said they'd give it to you months prior) so you end up not being able to use it unless you re-enroll for the following semester. (no thank you) If you've been to any other professional dance studio and have to go here you will be disapointed. more

Anita's family experience 8/30/2010

Anita's Dance Center is an amazing experience for the entire family. We have three daughters who dance for Anita's and it has been the best experience for all of our children. So many opportunities have been offered through the studio that our kids have taken advantage of. Last night's event was in my eyes the most rewarding. Anita honored all of the company dancers in the presence of the great Joe Tremaine. Each child was recognized and felt so special for the entire evening. This dance center is more than a place to dance it is family. It was so evident how much the dancers cared for each other and Anita. I left the evening with my husband and daughter and we couldn't stop talking about how fortunate we are to be a part of all of this. For anyone who is looking for the full dance experience Anita's Dance Center is the dance company to be a part of. I couldn't imagine having our kid's anywhere else! Erika Rondeau more

Anita's Dance Center 4/7/2006

My daughter has attended Anita's Dance Center for 10 years. I have always been satisfied with the classes. Early fall is sign up. There is a $20.00 sign up fee. At that time Anita (the owner) talks with each girl in regard to which classes they should be taking. Mu daughter is in toe ballet this year. Anita advised her about blisters etc. Anita recommend a store on North Ave to purchase toe shoes. The class sizes are small and personable. The cost is very reasonable. At the end of the dance year (about May or June) a beautiful, professional recital is put on. Most are held at Muskego High School, some at the Pabst Theater. Boys are also welcome at Anita's. more
