This place is awesome! The owner Lisa will get personal and come out and meet her guest. The food is the greatest mederterain you will find in Miami. Lamb!!! Babagamush! Lemon cello!! And the list goes on! Well, go there you won't be disappointed. more

We have eaten here a few times. The food is inconsistent. The pastas are horribly overcooked. The appetizers are tasty, but quite expensive for the portion size. The humus is great, but a small portion. The pita bread is great. The lamb sausage is tasty. The wines are good and well priced. \r \r The atmosphere is Mediterranean café on the drainage canal and quite cute. The staff is very pleasant, but the kitchen is quite slow.\r \r If you don't mind overspending this is a great place to go for appetizers and drinks. more

Canned pasta would be better 7/28/2010

The $18 chef's special pasta with clams was so soft it was falling apart, was dripping with butter and had only 6 baby clams. The owner said we should have ordered it al dente and replaced it with uncooked pasta. I have had problems with entrees at Anise before, but thought I was safe with the “chef’s special”.\r \r The service is a little slow, but you are in Miami. The owners are very pleasant.\r \r The appetizers are good, but pricey, $10 slice of eggplant with feta. The wine is good and reasonable. The pita and humus is good. The atmosphere is nice as you look out over the drainage canal it has a Mediterranean feel. Anise is a good place to go for appetizers and drinks, but stay away from the main courses.\r Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Main Courses more

My dear friends Becky and Tom Ostendorp took me to Anise to celebrate my birthday on Feb. 20th. We were a party of seven, and from the moment we entered the restaurant to leaving, everything was perfect. The service, food, and wine. Upon hearing I was celebrating my birthday, the gracious owner Gennaro brought out a complimentary bottle of champagne. I would recommend dining at this restaurant to anyone. more

We loved Ouzo's (the former restaurant run by these owners), so we were excited to choose their newest incarnation, Anise. However, everything about it was sub-standard. From the food to the service to the decor to the prices, we left feeling 'ripped off". For instance, I used to love their Med platter. This time, even the hummus was terrible! There were four of us and we shared several appetizers and ordered only one main-course dish. We waited at least 20-30 minutes after finishing the appetizers for the main dish (which should have been served along with the other dishes, since we were sharing). No one approached us to ask if we needed anything or to apologize for the delay (the owners were, inexplicably, the main servers. Perhaps they're trying to make up for the money they lost at their last location on South Beach-which could very well have ruined them, since construction on the road prevented anyone from getting to the restaurant). In any event, they have failed to resume where they left off and have instead launched a disappointing, overpriced restaurant. more

I have been going since they opened and I've never had a bad meal. The service is excellent, Thomas you do a great job and it's always a pleasure seeing you. The atmosphere is great, nice to sit along the river. Best humus and taziki I have had. more

Normally this is a good place to eat with a decent menu (fantastic humus)- but yesterday something happened and the waitstaff was ignorant and management flippant. We waited an hour and forty five minutes when we were finally told by the waitress "something happened in the kitchen and I wish I wasn't here". We never got our food, paid for the appetizers and left. Even the owner/manager gave us no explanation as to why no one in the restaurant was eating anything but appetizers. We just kept hearing "5 minutes, 5 minutes..." I have always liked these places even when it was on 79th and the beach, but I don't know if I'll be back. more

Definitely a good date spot. Lively, and delicious Greek food and atmosphere. Lamb chops were delicious. They have good fish and tapas also. more

A very good local Greek Restuarant. The service was a little slow, but they'll get there. more
