Animal Wellness Ctr Of Monee

I am replying to the Mama Petunia story. I see no reason why Dr. Wessels would need to lie about Petunia being left untreated, in the care of the other clinic. I think what Paula wrote, is an assassination of character of Dr. Wessels I think it is HIGHLY disrespectful for a ""vet tech"" to be SLANDERING a veterinarian, ""glorifying herself"". I don't deny that the other clinic did some basic care for Petunia, but hardly the treatment that she desperately needed. As far as deleting comments, Paula has this so twisted. The clinic she works for is infact the one who deletes and scrubs EVERYTHING. Many people including myself, comments have been deleted and were blocked from their FB account. Paula also has comments scrubbed on Petunias rescue FB page. It is very obvious how one sided the clinics FB page is. When you scrub criticism, people are pretty quick to sniff it out and they are not afraid to point it out. I have never seen or heard of a post where Dr. Wessels has spoken negatively about any other vets or clinics. Can't say the same for Paula's clinic. Paula needs to look up the word professionalism. The nerve of her to ask the Dr. to change her statement!! Who does this Paula think she is?? Go to Dr. Wessels website and read her blog. It will tell the story of what REALLY happened. I would like to thank Dr. Wessels and her wonderful staff for truly doing the best they could with Petunia and for doing heartbreaking, yet rewarding work. You truly are a HERO. more

I have been taking my dogs to Dr.Wessels for 6 years and couldn't be happier!!!\r in November 2011, my weimarainer Maizey was diagnosed with kidney and liver failure. She was severely dehydrated, lethargic and in a lot of pain. With a compassionate heart, Dr. Wessels suggested pushing IV fluids, in hope that this would help jump start her kidneys. For 3 days, my husband dropped her off in the morning and picked her up after work. Dr.Wessels suggested Maizey sleep over night with us in case she passed through the night. On the 3rd day, we made the tough decision that her health was only deteriorating and the most humane decision would be to put her down. The staff was so incredibly comforting and supportive. A couple of days later...we received a call from Joey asking how we were doing and how our other dog was doing. A simple telephone confirmed the sincerity and compassion that AWCM is all about. Then a few weeks later, we received a card from University of Chicago Veterinary Science saying that there was a donation made in Maizey's name from AWCM. Dr. Wessel's generosity was so much appreciated.\r We now have 2 dogs that have been blessed with anal gland problems...I know gross!!! I have witnessed both dogs expel the most awful smelling discharge all over the exam table/room as well as Dr. Wessels. She always says ""that's okay...don't worry about it"" and cleans them up as best as she can. Each time leaving the exam room smelling horribly and resembling the Elephant house at the zoo.\r The staff always provides endless support, love, care and comfort every day to every patient. Joey, Kathy, Mandy, Kristen, Lindsay, Carmelita and of course Dr. Wessels~\r you are all the best and I know my doggies always receive the BEST care possible! more

Dr. Wessells and her staff care about all breeds of animals I rescued 2 pit pups and 1 ca me down with parvo and was hospitalized there she gave up her family time and took care of my baby not just during the day she was also taken care of through out the nite. with updated calls to me. she is the best and whoever keeps making posts that she isn't\r has no clue what she is talking about. more

Dr. Wessells and her staff are amazing! They are very friendly, professional, caring and will go above and beyond for their patients. I drive an hour to take my 4 year old pitbull Jewel to Animal Wellness Center and she just loves to see them. The waiting room and exam room are extremely clean and the aquarium is beautiful, it's a very nice facility. Jewel and myself highly recommend AWCM! more

I first heard of Animal Wellness Center of Monee through our rescue I volunteer with. I seen how Dr. Wessels and all the ladies that work there treated our rescue dogs like they would their own. Very thorough and loving. I was also very impressed on how clean the vet is. Last week my personnel dog became very sick and I was very concerned because all of my dogs have been very healthy up to this point. I felt very comfortable leaving my Petey in Dr. Wessels care knowing she would do everything in her power to help him get better and she did no surprise to me. She explained everything to me thoroughly and kept me updated on his progress daily. My Petey is now home safely and I would never trust my dogs life with anyone but Dr. Wessels. Janey more

I first became familiar with Animal Wellness Center while working for a shelter. Dr. Wessels and staff always treated our homeless animals with dignity, love, and compassion. After seeing the lengths she would go through and the generosity towards these animals, I quickly changed my dogs over to her as well. more

I wanted to take a moment and say thanks to everyone at the Animal Wellness Center. They were all very nice and understood my concerns about my cat. Dr. Wessels took the time to explain what was wrong, the treatment and what to do when my cat and I got back home. I was also very pleased with how the facility looked. It was very clean & bright and the waiting area was a pleasure. Thanks again, you are now our permanent vet center! more

We use Animal Wellness Center of Monee for our lab Brodie and have always been satisfied with the service and treatment of our dog. We recently boarded Brodie for an entire week while we were out of town. The service far surpassed our expectations. We have no need to worry when we are out of town. I think he liked AWCM better than home. We love the care the staff provides our dog. I know they care about him and want to give him the best treatment possible. I find the staff always friendly and helpful. That's why I travel 17 miles to AWCM (passing 2 other vet clinics on my way). I wouldn't trust anyone else with my beloved Brodie. Dr. Wessels and her staff of professionals are wonderful. more

Dr. Wessels has to be one of the most caring veterinarians I have ever met. I recently took my cat Stevie in about a week ago because of something he had swallowed. I called them, told them what happened and they told me to bring him in right away. more

I have been to the Wellness Center a half a dozen times over the last couple of years with my ShihTzu named Gomer. Service was always exceptional and I found the staff to be great. Apparently I am boring. I didn't demand any free service, bring road kill in for a miracle save, make a scene in the clinic lobby, or picket outside for animal rights. Some of you people need to get a life - not enough attention as children? more

As a rescue person and animal lover, I feel compelled to respond to Don't go there. I've had a long term personal and professional relationship with Animal Wellness of monee. I've never worked with a more compassionate Animal hosp. Dr. Wessells and her staff have treated hundreds of our hurt, sick, broken, homeless rescue dogs. Not one time, in five years, have they ever refused to help one of our dogs. I cannot count the times we have called them at 2pm, saying animal control just called us, there is a dog who has been hit by a car, can you help. Everytime I've called AWCM, they say "Bring them in". Not only do they help us immediately, they treat them with such kindness, AWAYS going the extra mile for these thrown away dogs. I am in there many times a week, I've never seen anyone of the staff treat anyone in a rude or unprofessional manner. As far as the bird comment, that is ludicrous, that bird is a pampered parrot, maybe it was the bird who said shut up!!!, that would be more believable. So, Dr. Wessells, Joey, Cathy, Mandy adn karmalyta, keep up the great work!!! those of us who know you, know what a fantastic job you do, how all of you go above and beyond. more

This lady who wrote, "Don't Go There" was denied adoption of Sugar because she did not meet criteria, i.e., financial means to care for her, and records from previous vet showed her current dog & cat were not vetted. Denying this adoption was in the best interest of the dog. more

I am very impressed with this facility. The doctor is very knowledgeable and compassionate. The staff is extremely friendly. They all go out of their way to give yout pet the best care there is. The best testament is that my dog actually wants to go there. He wags his tail the minute he gets to the front door. We found an injured rabbit that obviously had a broken back but was still alive. We brought it to Animal Wellness of Monee assuming they would know what to do or who to call. Pros: None Cons: Major attitude from both vet & staff more
