Animal Medical Ctr

Never been to a better place. Was greated as I entered the building. Receptionist was very friendly and expected Star when we walked in the door. I made the appointment for just his annual vaccinations, however once the vet, Dr Lewis and I talked, I realized he needed a couple other items. He needed a heart worm check and to be on heart worm medicine all year, I didn't know this. Also, she said he would feel much better if we trimmed his long toe nails. Thank you Dr. Lewis. As I was leaving, the receptionist gave me some information about their health insurance for pets. I'm going to read it and probably get it on Star. more

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this veterinary hospital. They are by far the best I've been to in years. I've tried a couple other in the Waldo area where I live and this one beats them all hands down. Pros: Great Vets, off street parking, clean facility, good staff Cons: Their low prices attract cheap people who want it for free. more

I'm an older woman and appreciate the help these folks have given me. The insurance plan they have helps me with my fixed income budget. Now I can afford to have Daisy taken care of when I wasn't able to before. more

I just moved to town and I took my cat here. I was very dissappointed in the lack of communication and the quickness for which they got me out of there. Not all of the staff were this way... but a few really made me feel rushed, which I thought was rude. I would not recommend them to another. Cons: terrible staff more

Most of the doctors at this facility are great. If you pay attention to what you're being told, there are usually no surprises. I noticed problems with some of the people at the front desk in the past, but everyone seems great now! They even helped me save money on my bill, which surprised the heck out of me.\r \r I get the feeling that a lot of reviews I have seen are by people who just did not want to pay their bill. more

I wish I'd done more research on this business before I went there. Unfortunately I had my cat neutered there and he also received shots. The employees there act as if they are doing you a favor to even acknowledge your presence. I had several questions and they were very annnoyed that I asked. When you ask about the costs involved, they only thing they can say is ""You'd save money if you sign up with out health plan"" They really PUSH you to enroll in their monthy plan to send them money continually. Maybe it's a good deal but they are so pushy about it. They finally did tell me what the costs were but when I arrived to pick up my cat, the bill was significantly more than I'd been quoted. I questioned the bill and was immediately talked down to and talked ugly too. I've never been treated worse in my life. There was an older woman customer there at the same time who questioned a bill and they were just plain rude to her. When she left, the employees blatantly and loudly talked terrible about her and called her very unkind names. The woman had been very polite & they spoke terrible aboout her. I would never return to Animal Medical Center. I'm sure they probably talked about me when I left as well. I told another woman at my office about my experience and she said she'd changed vets several years ago after she'd been badly treated at Animal Medical Center. I found another vet right around the corner and they are much more professional and the building is much cleaner and better kept. Also, Animal Medical Center is very dirty and has a strong stench. The service may be bad but at least they are rude when they finally get around to waiting on you at all. The prices are a bit high compared to other options in the area and there is a more than usual odor. One time was enough for me and I'll never be back. I'd urge others to shop for a more suitable vet experience. more

I've personally had nothing but bad experiences with Animal Medical Center. Two of their vets are somewhat personable and possibly competent. Dr. Williams, the owner, is very old, rude, and oblivious to the lousy customer service provided. Complaints about his staff always result in the staff being defended, complaints about being overcharged or charged for unauthorized services result in vicious attacks on the customers. It's not unusual to have more than once argument over billing or unauthorized services going on in their lobby at once. I love Dr Joi, she is the best Veterinerian around. The front staff is knowledgable and always friendly. They know my pets by name!! The health plan saves me a lot of money, especially since I have 4 dogs. \r \r Couldn't ask for a better place to go with my pets.\r \r The person below is crazy!! more

I moved to Lees Summit several years ago and still go to the trouble to take my baby to AMC. I love their Health Plan, it saves me money that otherwise I wouldnt be able to spend. All the Vet's are great and the staff is caring and attentive. They remember my pets name and greet her when we enter the door. I've had to wait a time to two to see the dr but not near as long as I have waited for my doctor. Thanks a million AMC!! more

I was new in town and just used the first vet I could find. That was a mistake. The front desk people treated me like crap and the vets treated me like I was taking up their precious time. I also felt like an unwanted "guest". The prices were ridiculous. I came to her and was having problems with my newly adopted dog and she kept saying" he needs to see a behavioral therapist" (at the age of 12)..I was on a fixed income..she knew I could not do that and she did nothing to help me and didn't care to..she was happy when I left MO. but not as happy as me..and the second vet was even worse than the first..however that was possible. more

This animal clinic is awesome!! I love the health plan, the doctors and the staff. Everyone is always friendly and they remember my pets name. The groomer spoils her terribly. The health plan has saved me money that I wouldn't have been able to spend on my pet without it. I know she is in better health, from routine items to dentals and grooming. I have had to wait a time or two but I always have to wait for my doctor and they aren't as patient with me as the Veterinarian is with my dog. more

I've NEVER had a bad expirence, ever. My puppy princess loves the vets and I believe we've seen all of them. I will mention that I've had to wait a time or two, but the service and care that the vets provide makes it all worth it. My Xenna gets very nervous and they put her at ease before they do anything! I love the plans that they offer as well, it makes it truely afordable to get everything done. We pay under $20.00 a month and there have been times when she's gotten into something and we were there four times that month--which would normally cost more than $150.00! You can't beat it. PROS: Attitudes, level of caring, pricing and ability to drop off and pick up. CONS: Size and number of office persons (NOT vets, but desk clerks). more

I recently moved to Florida but still take my animals to AMC when I am visiting family in Kansas City. I have always had excellent care of my pets and service from the staff. The staff are kind and worked with me to treat my pets. Even though I live in Florida know due to the military moving us here but I still like taking my pets there because I know they will be well taken care of.\r \r Robyn G. more

Several times we have gone in and been greeted by crabby front desk staff. They have a sign in sheet that reads, "Sign in and sit down please!" I felt like I was in grade school. Our satisfaction has been dependent upon which Dr. we saw, but you don't get a choice. more
