Animal Medical Center

When I took my sick & dying hamster there they were very sensitive about it. He died there, and they had him cremated for me. They explained that there wasn't anything I could have done differerently for him and his demise was not my fault. They respected that a little guy like a hamster has a personality & people really care about even tiny pets. (I still don't understand why you can't take a hamster to a ""small animal"" veterinarian LOL!) \r ...edited to add that after a bad experience in Muncie with some sick dogs I have transferred my surviving dogs here. Dr. Smith is very knowledgeable and keeps up with new research. He answers my questions and he has kept my two geriatric dogs in great condition. Some vets around here blow off the older pets as just ""old"" and don't bother diagnosing their problems, but Dr. Smith takes my guys' health and comfort seriously. One time they couldn't squeeze in my suddenly sick dog on a Saturday so I went to Northwood to start a treatment for him. They didn't take that personally at all. I wish I'd found this practice when I first moved here!\r \r If your pet is getting older and your vet doesn't seem up to keeping them happy healthy and comfortable I suggest switching to this practice. I love the Animal Medical Center. The staff is just wonderful and caring and they love your pet(s). I have two pugs and I am very confident in taking both for any medical needs that may arise. Even on a day when the office is booked with clients they will make time for you to drop off your pet if there is a medical issue. When we got our new baby pug the staff was as excited as we were when we took her in for her first appointment. but they also make our older pug feel special when he comes into the office. The doctor's are great and they care about your pets. They always have time to answer any questions you may have regardless of how busy they may be at the time. A little bio of AMC by Roger Smith, DVM, owner: just passed my 20th year here in Yorktown. Now with wife and 3 great kids, seems it's been a prolific 20 years. My goal for our practice is for each client (owner) to receive the care and respect that they deserve. Each pet (dog, cat, bird, pocket-pet, etc) should receive our best diagnostic and treatment measures. With current trends in sophisticated equipment and procedures, frequently they may beyond the reach of many.
