I took several of my pets (small animals) there for various reasons during the course of a year. The vet was fantastic- there were times when he easily could have "over-treated" ...

I used to take my parrot here, but not anymore! Although the vet is a nice guy, he is extremely overpriced. I used to board my bird there for $6.00 a night, which wasn't too bad. ...

My cat was killed by one of their staff members at AMC 12/8/2011

Do not take your loved pets to animal medical center. I brought my kitty in for a simple checkup. While transferring her to the exam table, a staff member dropped her on the ground then fell on her killing her right in front of my eyes. Pros: null Cons: null more

They Killed My Bird - Animal Medical Center & Bird Clinic. 12/8/2011

They killed my bird! I brought my 7 year old macaw in for a bath and nail clippings. Dropped her off at 9pm and at 9:30 they called me and said she bled to death because they cut her nails too short. They didn't even apologize and they tried to make me pay for services. Then when I refused they took me to court and won. If you take your animals there after reading this then you are an absolute idiot. Find a reputable place with trained staff. My baby is gone forever because of their malpractice. Great vet, great staff, great service 4/23/2011

I took several of my pets (small animals) there for various reasons during the course of a year. The vet was fantastic- there were times when he easily could have "over-treated" and charged accordingly, but he never did. I have and will continue to recommend this clinic to anyone in the Hollywood area. more

dishonest and unprofessional 12/18/2008

I brought my dog in to be diagnosed for a medical issue. I was given an estimate for services and an appointment for my pet to be treated. When I showed up for the appointment i was told of additional services that should be preformed prior to operating on my dog. These were not discussed in the initial consultation. I questioned the doctor about this and he became accusatory and asked me to leave his office refusing treatment of my pet. In my opinion this business is much more concerned about getting your money than giving proper treatment to your pet. more

You Can "Scratch" This Place 7/23/2005

I used to bring my cats here, but not anymore. The first hint of their reputation was when they charged me $9.00 apiece for 2 of those cardboard cat carriers. Any vet gives them to you for free or they are $5.00 at Pet Supermarket. I guess the worst thing was when they advised the wrong dosage of medication for my beautiful diabetic Abbysinian cat and I came home to find he had overdosed, went into a coma, and we had to put him down. This place is a rip off, and unless you get the vet (who actually is a decent person) instead of one of his interns or newbie employees, don't go there. PROS: ??????? CONS: most everything more

This Place is for the Birds 7/17/2005

I used to take my parrot here, but not anymore! Although the vet is a nice guy, he is extremely overpriced. I used to board my bird there for $6.00 a night, which wasn't too bad. But one time I came to pick him up after being away for two weeks and the prices went up $2.00 a night. What upset me was that I was not told of the price change until after I returned from my vacation. When I pointed out that I felt I should have been told beforehand, the vet said the best he could do was charge me 10% less. I thought that was a bad business practice because he just should have charged me the $6.00 a night. Now because of this, I never bring my parrot there again. Oh, and another thing. He charged me $20.00 to cut my bird's nails and wings, and his wings were cut so crooked, he looked lopsided. Now I board my bird at Exotics Aviary in Hallandale. They charge only $3.00 a night for boarding and $5.00 to cut my bird's nails and wings (they do a great job with his grooming). PROS: CONS: The h more

  • The staff at the animal medical center would like to welcome you to our community. Choosing a new veterinarian can be a difficult and worrisome process. We know how important it is that your pets receive only the best in preventative and diagnostic medical care and treatment. With our caring, knowledgeable staff and modern hospital you can feel confident that your pet will receive the best possible medical treatment and attention. The amc and bird clinic of hollywood is a full service veterinary hospital for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rodents, rabbits, ferrets, monkeys and other exotic species. Additional services are provided for your convenience - overnight boarding, grooming, day care, house calls, and others. If you have any questions concerning the health of your pet, please feel free to call us. We offer boarding and day care for all our clients. A complimentary bath is given after 3 nights of boarding. Reservations are necessary. We have a variety of enclosures including xlarge size runs for those pets over 60 lbs. All our guests are exercise 3 to 4 times per day plus 20min of supervised recreational time at our enclosed playground. Please call our office for a tour of the facility and pricing information. Our grooming dept is open every tuesday and thursday from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Appointments are limited, so hurry an make your reservation today.
