Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill

Incompetent. Expensive. Head vet is extremely rude. My advice is to avoid this place like the plague, and if you must go here please please please I beg you to get a second opinion elsewhere when dealing with anything beyond the standard vaccinations. I've been to a few vets over the years and my experience with animal hospital of rocky hill was by far the best. I had to bring in my cat because she had been bitten on her leg and my regular vet was closed that day. They were able to sqeeze me in and gave me great service from the start of my visit till the end. I had no intention of leaving my current vet but after my experince at the animal hospital switched over and repeatedly recieved great service. more

So, I first brought my cats and dog to AHRH after my vet of 20 years became corporate. I didnt care for the tests and products that the new ""coporate policies"" of said vet pushed on me everytime I went in and the fact that if my dog or cats were sick after hours they wanted me to drive halfway across the state to be seen at thier er facility. Rocky Hill was a breath of fresh air in that dept. It is a family owned and run practice and the doctors and staff are down to earth, smart, and up front with me. I can get in for an appointment quickly and I love that they have an emergency clinic working on nights, weekends, and holidays. The technicians are great at explaining medicines and procedures to me- I am one of those ""has to know everything"" moms. The facility is clean and modern also. Kudos to Doctors David and Kristin and all the great staff they employ- I would recommend them to anyone!! more

Everything looks nice and the staff is friendly but this is where it ends. I was told that I should take my pets elsewhere and wish I had listened to ""the rumor"". If you do decide to visit this vet you should SECOND GUESS everything you are told....fort he safety and sake of your pets. Oh, and make sure you have a never ending checkbook balance...just sayin'..... more

I have 5 dogs and used to use a cromwell vet. I had great difficulties and concerns about the compassion for my pets while being treated there. I decided to check out other vets and interviewed all the vets in the area. Happy to say I chose Rocky Hill. I have been very pleased with the care that my animals receive here. The staff is incredible. Dr. Haviar (all three) and Dr. Peterson have been wonderful the compassion they have for animals and the treatments my animals have there is great. I would not go anywhere else. My Saint Bernard and my New Foundland have the best care and best interactions when we go to the vet they are not scared or freightened they love everyone there. On 2 separate occasions one of my dogs became extremely ill and almost died. The staff stayed with her and called my every couple of hours to give me a status. The Vet techs are terrific with the animals and are very caring, especially Abby my dogs all 5 love her to death. If it wasn't for Dr. Haviar I would not have my Newfie. He saved her life twice. They do not do uneeded treatment and are extremely compassionate for the animal. Here at this vet the animal is important not just the money. I have had experiences with both the emergency and non-emergency side of this business and all of my interactions have been 100% positive. \r \r All of the employees are friendly and kind and gentle with animals, and their prices are very reasonable. \r \r I frist had to bring my cat in when he was very ill. He stayed for almost a week receiving around-the-clock care. The doctors were very honest with me about his prognosis. \r \r Currently, my dog is a patient in their non-emergency facility. I like knowing that if there is an emergency, she will be cared for by a wonderful staff of people ... and all her records are there. more
