I would like to thank the staff here for the kindness and the patience they have showed our 11 year old Shitzu and our 2 year old Pekinese while caring for them. Our Shitzu does not like to be groomed and is very difficult to handle at times. Audrey the groomer took him right in and was able to get him groomed. She does great work on both of our dogs. The staff here is very welcoming and also keeps you informed of what treatment is due.\r So THANK YOU ALL for your care and kindness for our pets!! We highly recommend Animal Hospital of Newton Conover and their wonderful groomer Audrey!! more

Great Veterinarian 4/19/2013

I was very happy with the care & treatment of my Miniature Schnauzer by Animal Hospital of Newton Conover. Dr. Miller is so kind and her experience is evident. The staff was welcoming and really show they love animals! more

Great Hedgehog Vet! 7/22/2012

Dr Dunning is very knowledgeable when dealing with our hedgehogs. His aggressive diagnostic abilities saved my Lily Pricklepot's life. She had an infected uterus that could only be diagnosed with x ray. I was very nervous about Pricklepot being spayed because she only weighed around 600 grams at the time. But Dr Dunning did a great job and allowed me to take her home the same day. She came through his surgical procedure with flying colors and is still doing great nearly a full year later. Thank you Dr Dunning! more

Dr. Dunning and my Bird Maxwell 3/29/2011

Dr. Dunning and the staff (especially Leslie are GREAT! Maxwell is my Sun Conure, approx 1 year old and the care that is provided by Dr. Dunning is exceptional. The advise that is provided is extremely helpful and I rest easy knowing that Maxwell is healthy and will remain that way with the assistance of Dr. Dunning and the staff at Animan Hospital of Newton Conover. more

Dr Dunning is a great doctor. He seems to be very concerning and seems to care alot about the animals he sees. Although some of the additional staff seem stuck up and just give you looks like they are better than you. A little too snobby for me. I'd rather go to a animal hospital where the staff is more kinder to the pet owners and show a greater interest in the welfare of the animals that come in there as well as the people that do. I prefer the conover vet hospital, everyone that works there is so sweet and know what to say to make you feel comfortable and your pet in great health. They also handle animals better. This is not just my opinion, but I've talked to many who agree with me. more

Dr. Dunning is GREAT! 10/23/2010

Although we still miss Dr. Barlowe....his replacement, Dr. Dunning is a very fine vet. He shows compassion and caring for his patients, and also is extremely professional and experienced in his treatment of animals. He is friendly, open, and shares "common sense" information with pet owners which means a lot. Truly, he is a qualified vet whom we hope will be around for a long time. Like Dr. Barlowe, Dr. Dunning doesn't act like the money is the most important thing -- the good health and well-being of our pets is the primary reason he is a vet. We recommend Animal Hospital of N-C highly. more

The best Vet I've ever had. 9/27/2010

My wife and I have been bring our two bulldogs to Dr Dunning since moving here from CA in 2006 and I can say that we will follow him anywhere. Dr Dunning and staff take care of your pets like they would their own and that's hard to find nowdays. He's going to tell you like it is for the sake of your animal whether you like it or not. He's a great Vet that we recommend to every pet owner we know whether it's a dog, cat, lizzard, bird, ect. more

Finally, a good veterinary clinic 9/15/2010

These people generally care about our pets. Dr. Dunning is very thorough and actually took the time to show us the x-rays and explain his diagnosis after going to 2 Veterinary Hospitals prior to going to them. The rest of the staff was equally as helpful...We are switching all of our furry babies to this hospital. more

Remember I warned you 9/3/2010

Unfortunately Dr. Barlow is no longer working at this clinic. I admit he was a great vet. The new doctor that has taken his place is no Dr. Barlow. My experience with rest of the staff was and has always been good ,however Dr. Dunning does not have the compassion or professionalism needed for this business. more

Dr. Barlowe is the best.... 3/10/2010

Dr. Barlowe is fantastic and I would not take my pets to anyone else. He helped us through a heartworm infestation of a rescued dog with kindness and compassion, and the dog is 100% clear now. Dr Barlowe is the regular vet at the Newton office, and although this is one branch of a larger veterinary practice, as long as Dr. Barlowe remains there, so will our 4 pets. more

HORRIBLE!!! 11/5/2008

This place is not somewhere I would recommend. The level of care the pets are given is very inept. Gary Stuttsman has a horrible bedside manner and cannot keep a dependable staff. His staff turnover is higher than any place I have ever seen. I recommend finding somewhere else....anywhere else! more

Dr. Barlowe, Dr. Stuttsman, April and the fine staff at Animal Hospital of Newton Conover are simply the best. They truly care about the pets and their familes. Dr. Stuttsman helped (me and) my beloved JRT through a critical stage in his life 2 years ago, after I had spent thousands of dollars at another vet in the area. I now share my life with another JRT and Dr. Barlowe is the only vet she will ever need. At the front desk, April always makes you feel welcome and she is genuinely happy to see you. In my opinion, the level of service, care, compassion and knowledge at Animal Hospital of Newton Conover is exceptional and unsurpassed. I absolutely recommend this fine animal care facility to anyone who wants the very best for their beloved pet. more

Caring staff! 7/27/2007

My husband and I take our dog and cat to Dr. Barlowe at the Animal Hospital of Newton-Conover. \r \r I feel like these people are family. They are always so friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about your animals.\r \r When we lost unexpectedly lost our yellow lab in March of 2007, Dr. Barlowe and his nurse both were very supportive and loving as we had her put down. I can't imagine taking our animals anywhere else. more
