Animal Care Clinic Algonquin

I have been going to this vet since my dog was a puppy. Love Dr. Christine and Dr. Liz. They listen to my concerns and talk about options. Its also very obvious they love animals and love what they do. more

My dog's illness requires monthly shots and daily medication to keep him alive. I had spent over $3000 in a 12 month period on various bouts of illnesses. The last time, the vet I was assigned to wanted me to have a liver biopsy ($2000) done. My dog was acting and feeling fine, so I said 'no'. The vet loudly stated (in the packed waiting area -- they always overbook thier appointments) that since I couldn't afford to take care of my dog, that maybe I should consider giving him up! Luckily, I switched to a new vet at a different facility and my dog is the healthiest I've seen him since his diagnosis. And the bouts of illnesses? All gone since the new vet cut his daily meds in 1/2 -- a move I asked the ACC vet to do on several occasions and which she refused to do. The facility is clean, but their focus is on the money, not the animal. more

This place is a nightmare! Be prepared for the reception desk to ignore you (this happened on my last 3 visits), appointments to be written down incorrectly and your pet "squeezed in" to surgery, and then... HAVE THE WRONG AREA OF YOUR PET OPERATED ON and catch kennel cough from being there after getting??? (it was supposedly given out of my sight) the vaccine only 3 weeks prior. To top it all off, I had to talk to 2 people about being overcharged on my bill TWICE (on two different occasions for two different appointments) before it was taken care of. I can't believe I've subjected my pet and myself to the awful care of this facility! Please don't make the same mistake I did. more

I'm a pet professional and have a high standard of care for my, and my clients pets. I have met with several of their vets and have found them all to be knowledgable, respectful and openminded to our thoughts. I find this to be especially helpful as I am more holistically based in my care of my pets. I recommend them to my clients as well. more

I have been going to this vet for a year now and they have been nothing but wonderful to my 2 german shepherds and my cat. They are thorough and very gentle and kind to them and take excellent care of them! more

I have three dogs, one who was born deaf, and another was born brain damaged. The Vet's here are all wonderful, they have great mannerisms, they care about the animals, and they are very knowledgable. They will work with you to resolve whatever problem you are having with your animals. They even call you afterwards for a follow up to make sure the animal is doing well. They have at least six different Vet's at this location, so you can find different personalities to fit your needs. more

I am the owner of three dogs. I am very unhappy with the quality of service at the Animal Care Clinic. I brought my dogs to Animal Care Clinic twice for baths. The first time I was charged for Nail Trims, that were not done. The second time I was charged for a brush/blow out, that was not done. I recommend reviewing your bill before you leave. more

I like the practice, but I'm less than thrilled. I think they could be more thorough with testing and have higher standards for the foods they recommend. I started taking my animals there because I liked the technical offerings of the hospital and I was new to the area. Now that I've been there for a while, I'm going to look elsewhere for veterinary care. PROS: Location, in-house services CONS: Could strive to do better more
