good memories 5/19/2009

As a child my grandfather would take me here and on the walk there he would tell its history and when we got there hed buy the little yellow tickets and on the way up he would tell half of a short story and on the way down he would tell the other half of the story so most of the time spent on the top of bunker hill was spent anticipating the ride down lol now that he's gone I found hundreds of little colored tickets in a shoebox. he had saved every one. I planning to take my daughter there when she gers older and its not like its totally cool and exciting it just kind of a neat peice of history and a nice relaxing ride. much better tgan the stairs. more

Angel's Flight, Grandma Mason, & More 8/15/2002

I didn't discover Angel Flight Railway as a child, but through a walk though of Los Angeles with a professor of mine. Angel Flight is the main passage between old downtown and new downtown. For only 25 cents you can take a 45 second ride on an important piece of LA history. Though not in it's original location, Angel's flight is the doorway to such wonderful things as Grand Central Market, The Bradbury Building, and a beautiful hidden memorial to Biddy Grandma Mason. Take an afternoon off, stop by and park near MOCA and enjoy a day of LAs rich history. Pros: Super Cheap, LA History, All within 2 miles more
