Absolutely disgusting! When I went in, the first thing I noticed was how unclean and unsanitary the place was. Kittens were kept in a too-small ferret cage, and two of them were incredibly ill (Sneezing, hacking, matted fur)! One kitten had a bleeding paw, presumably from the poorly constructed chicken-wire platforms. The rats were infested with mites, I'm pretty sure every single one was sneezing, and they were crammed into inadequate living spaces. When brought to the attention of an employee, they tried to talk down the severity of the situation. If I hadn't been so distraught, I would have had half a mind to call the authorities, because this was clearly abuse and neglect. I won't be in the area again for some time, but if someone goes and sees these same conditions, I urge you to report them. This place shouldn't be in business. more

In this day and age there is NO reason to SELL puppies and kittens like a product off a shelf when so many DIE everyday because they are not wanted!!! There are THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS just waiting to die in shelters and this guy is doing nothing but promoting the dirty industry of puppy breeding. I guarantee you that he's not getting his pups from reputable breeders, I've seen way too much and helped care for too many rescued dogs to believe a word anyone says about him not getting his dogs from puppy mills. He should be ASHAMED of himself for contributing to the death of dogs that sit waiting to die in shelters!!!!!!!!!\r more

This place is just about the worst pet store that I have ever been into! Over the last 10 years I've checked into the place about 4 separate times hoping that it will get better. But it NEVER does! The fish tanks are disgusting. The little furry critters are blatantly ignored. So much that the first time I was there and stupidly decided to give the place the benefit of a doubt. I went home with a pregnant guinea pig! I only purchased one not five! And then the jerks wouldn't take the babies! The puppies are always filthy and shaking like their interbred and they all look to be runts. If Andy is buying from reputable breeders then its probably more likely that the breeders are giving him ""freebies"" like how he gave me extra Guinea Pigs! STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS!!! Andy needs to go out of business and stay that way! For the safety and health of any poor soul human, animal or fish that have the misfortune to go through there! more

Claiming that Andy's Animals buys dogs from puppy mills is malicious and false slander. Puppy Mills are unlicensed breeders who breed animals in their back yard under horrific conditions. Andy's Animals is state licensed and regularly inspected by the Department of Agriculture, and the breeders who supply dogs to Andy's Animals are certified and regularly inspected by the Missouri Department of Agriculture as well as the Federal USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) to ensure that all animals receive humane care and treatment under the care of veterinarians. this place take very good care of their fish, reptiles, and cats and it is very fun to go play with the puppies. but I have noticed they do not take very good care of their rodents, (rabbits, guinea pig) so andy if you see this revew, please take better care of them. more

The staff, and especially the owner Andy, are extremely knowledgable of the animals they have in house. They have helped me with questions about reptiles that have been surrendered to me, as well as calling me about abandoned and surrendered reptiles. If they don't have something on their shelves that I need, Andy is quick to order it right away. The fact that his puppies and kittens are accessible and roam and play free is more than I've seen at all pet stores, and most rescues. I had been searching for a puppy for a while looking at various breeders for about a year. I saw a puppy sale banner at Andys and walked in. They are very laidback and knew everything about they many puppies they had. I am now writing this review with my new puppy right beside me. I am a permanent customer now! more

I have spent time getting to know the people who work there since its right down the street. I use them to buy food for my snakes and salt water fish. they usually have a good selection of fish. they are a very good knowledge of salt water fish and have good prices. they also helped me solve a problem with my tank where i had red slime. i recommend them to anyone just remember if you use them for knowledge dont take your business to the internet. we need to keep them going so we have a good place close by.
