Almost three decades later, Andre's is still fabulous. 12/8/2008

Andre Rochat, Chef/Proprietor of Andre's French Restaurant, has been Las Vegas? marquis chef for decades -- long before all the big names from New York and Beverly Hills arrived on the scene. The original Andre's Restaurant is a 1980s renovated house in the downtown area. Almost three decades later, it is still fabulous.\r \r Andre has now expanded to a namesake restaurant in the Monte Carlo and the eye popping Alize which is on top of The Palms. All are lovely. All are special. But, the Palms can be a bit too noisy for those of us who like their restaurants quiet. As such, we chose the original, which will be closing at the end of the year, but still brings fond memories. Andres at Monte Carlo is currently closed for renovation and will reopen early 2009.\r \r Allyn?s Dover sole, the best she has ever had, was cooked to perfection with its juiciness and sauciness. I had a veal chop, which I normally associate with Italian food. However, this one was A+ and definitely had a French flair to it. The signature two pound lobster thermidor and foie gras also received rave reviews. more

The Best Fine Dining in Las Vegas 5/15/2008

Andre's French Restaurant is The best fine dining experience one could enjoy. The food, service and atmosphere is absolutely superb. From the time you enter the restaurant, until you leave hours later, you are delighted in selections of fine food and wine. I'm happy to see that after coming to Andre's over the past years that the restaurant earned a Michelin Star. more

Best restaurant in vegas! 10/27/2006

My wife and I go here frequently. We have eaten at numerous other Strip restaurants (Fleur de Lys, Alex, Tableau, etc) and have only been to those places once. We keep coming back to Andre's. The rabbit and duck are fantastic, as are all of their desserts. Waitstaff is excellent. Sommelier is superb, as is the winelist. Only downside is that they may have a busboy or assistant waiter who is a bit new. First line people are all experienced. One of the big perks of this place is that it is about 30%-40% less than the strip restaurants for essentially the same experience (minus the glitz). We just ate at Alex and dropped $480 for two people with a $110 bottle of wine. One of the appetizers there was better than Andre's, but the entree and desserts were equal and the wine list was way overpriced. Expect at least a 400% markup on wines on the strip. Pros: Food, wine, service Cons: location is not so easy to find, have a good map more

Great Service, Good Food. 12/31/2004

Our party of 6 was seated in this intimate, cave-like room; terrific atmosphere if you want privacy, but cramped enough to make it challenging for the servers to get around. The LOBSTER BISQUE, ONION SOUP and ESCARGOT starters were FABULOUS. One of us ordered their signature dover sole entree, which was good but not great, a bit overcooked - certainly not worth the $58 they charge for it. Scallop special was under-seared ho-hum; but striped bass was very tasty. Souffles were wonderful! Wine list very heavily favors reds. Service was very friendly, warm, knowledgable and attentive, though we wondered how the nice-but-clumsy buss boy got a job at such a nice place. All in all, a positive experience and a great non-Strip restaurant choice! Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Wine List Cons: , Location more

Oui, Andre est magnifique! 2/19/2004

Dining at Andre's is a must for us, whenever my wife and I were in Vegas. We have been there so often that it feels like a home to us. Friendly and exceptional services. I think we could be a little biased, since the waitresses and busboys all remember us. The food without saying is magnificent, especially their signature dish - rack of lambs. The only blemish of Andre's is the prices of their entrees. Their evening specials were usually $50+, just a bit too pricey, even for an upscale French restaurant. Pros: Exceptional food, Exceptional services, Country French Decor. more

Fish 6/22/2003

definately recommended 12/4/2002

I took my boyfriend for his birthday. I wanted something special and different. Food from salad, entry, to desert were fabulous. I ordered lamb and my boyfriend ordered salmon. They were both great dishes. I also loved the fact that this restaurant is away from the strip. It's very quiet and personal. I will definately go back next year for his birthday again. Pros: romantic, quiet, great food Cons: expensive, hard to find w/o map, not walking distance more

Very nice service and excellent food! 12/4/2002

The service was superb. They described the food well and were obviously very happy to be there. The food was excellent. I had a prime rib dish which was really unique and delicious. My date had a halibut dish which she enjoyed tremendously! more

Telepathic waiters? 5/27/2002

There are two locations for Andre's, we dined at the Monaco. This was simply the best service I have ever had at any restaurant...period. The food was superb, though pricey, not outrageous for the quality. The servers were amazing. Food appeared and dishes disappeared without the slightest need for prompting and without a pause in conversation. It seemed that you only needed to think to get what you wanted. Note, the waiters we had that night were all at least 50 somethings, which I think says something for experience. Our meals were $150 per person with wine, for that level of dining...not bad. Pros: amazing service, superb food, wonderful ambiance Cons: expensive more
