Anderson Jenkins Signature Homes

DO NOT USE THIS BUILDER!\r We certainly got their ""Signature Experience."" \r They did a terrible job on our home. Delay after delay after delay.\r Repeatedly not following the plans. Walls in the wrong places, doors framed in at the wrong places. Terrible communication. We were supposed to get calls each Monday with updates - none, not one. Their response to why we were not getting calls, even though it was written into the AJ book as part of our contract: "" we don't do that anymore."" \r Failure to supervise the site properly. \r \r They delivered and started to install the wrong color roof. When we pointed it out to them, they stopped working on our house entirely for 5 weeks. Not just stopped working on the roof, stopped working on everything, for 5 weeks.\r We moved in and the septic system didn't work.\r We have lived in our home over two months and still have trades which need to finish - including electrical. \r \r We had architects and professional inspectors come and provide independent inspections. All pointed out major deficiencies - some of the problems corrected, and many not. more

We bought land in the Havenwood development in New Braunfels several years ago. When we decided to build we looked at several builders spec homes and narrowed our search down to 4 custom builders. Our first instinct was Anderson Jenkins Signature Homes, often referred to as AJ Signature. My husband liked their craftsmanship and of course I was worried about price. Could I afford to build a house like the model homes we looked at?\r \r We developed our own building plan with the AJ Team. You are given an allowance for appliances, flooring, granite, etc and you make your own selections for a truly custom home. We met all subcontractors as work was in progress to clarify our wants/needs. It took 8 months from the time they cleared the lot until completion. Very happy!!\r \r more
