Better Time this time around! 3/15/2004

Well, after having a pretty rough experience here the first time, I decided to try it again, and boy what an improvement. I was met with a friendly face at the door, seated promptly and service was great again. I got a different dish and the food was wonderful. Everything came out much smoother. I guess everyone has a bad night, so this just proves you should always give second chances. Sorry about my first review! Pros: great service, atmosphere more

Run there now! 2/16/2004

I have been to Anatolia 3 times. I am in love with it. Great prices, polite and fast waitstaff, warm atmosphere! Excellent stuffed grape leaves! Yummy desserts! (If nothing else you must have their turkish coffee and a dessert!) This has become a favorite for me in less than two months. Pros: friendly staff, great value, delicious! more

Good food, SLOW service 2/16/2004

I went with a few friends to Anatolia on a Friday night. It only took us about 20 minutes to be seated, but we waited for our food for well over an hour. The waiter was friendly and apologetic enough, but it seemed that this new restaurant was still working out a few kinks in their system. As for the food: I had the Iskender, which was delicious. My friends were only mildly positive about their dishes. Prices were quite reasonable. Pros: Decent value, good food, friendly service more

We love it! 1/18/2004

We were on our way to Benkay, went here instead, and are now ""regulars""! The baklava is the best I have ever had. The onion soup is delicious and the rose petal dipping sauce served with the cheese appetizers is wonderfully exotic! The servers are extremely friendly and so helpful. All the food is freshly prepared so relax and have another cup of delicious Turkish tea or coffee...or better yet...Turkish wine! yum! Pros: baklava, soup, friendly staff Cons: none! more

?!?!? 1/14/2004

My boyfriend and I went based on Kay West's article in the Scene. Boy, did we ever experience a different restaurant. The food was tasteless. It actually pains me to say so because the owner was so kind and personable. Did we order the wrong things? Perhaps. Just make sure you're not counting on the best meal ever if you jump into this fire... more

exotic and worth a try 1/14/2004

I stubled across this place while getting a haircut, have gone back 3 times since. The food is good, not increibly memorable for an ""ethnic"" place but high quality. The service is EXCELLENT, and I always feel like I am in a much more expensive place. Everything has been good, nothing bad, but only occasionally great. It's worth checking out if you like trying new places but not a MUST SEE. Pros: service, ambiance more

Wonderful! 1/6/2004

This is a great place to dine and relax. The small quiet enviroment, excellent and attentive staff, and wonderful food puts this restaurant at the top of my list. Not sure what to order? Don't worry Alli will tell you what is the best pick of the day. Enjoy some tea, wine, or any of their excellent deserts. This dinning experience needs not to be rushed so expect to take your time and munch on some excellent pita bread and imported Turkish olive oil. Anatolia has definitly made me feel like a friend when I come in so try it out! Pros: Excellent Service, Great Food, Quiet Dinning more

awesome food 9/14/2003

This place offers better Mediterranean food than Mediterranean Cuisine (which I used to think was pretty good). I don't care for the hummus, but the stuffed grape leaves are good (and I don't even like stuffed grape leaves), and so is the feta-in-phyllo-dough appetizer. The kofta is pretty darn rare in the middle (though they'll cook it further if you're squeamish) and pretty gristly to boot, so I wouldn't recommend that, though the rice pilaf that comes with it is great. The Turkish ravioli dish is rich and unique. The sour cherry juice is another unusual treat, and the chilled rice pudding was thick and homemade, and one portion served two generously. In fact, that's true of the food generally--order one appetizer and one entree to share between two, and you'll have plenty of food! The wait staff are attentive. Overall, this place is a real treat. Pros: truly unique food, plenty of parking, attentive wait staff Cons: avoid the kofta more
