Acupuncture for Auto Accident Injuries 4/20/2011

I recently got clipped by a car on my morning bike commute. My bike recked and my body damaged I decided to try acupuncture. Its really cool because the acupuncture helped in the healing process and all the costs were paid for by the car accident insurance. I liked working with the people at An Sen and would definitely recommend going there for injury rehabilitation. more

Don't be skeptical acupunture really helps 9/15/2010

It's like Magic!!!! 8/30/2010

3 months after hurting my shoulder I decided to go the Dr. as I could no longer deal with the pain. I was diagnosed by a very reputable Orthopedic Dr. with tendinitis in my rotator cuff. I was unable to sleep on my hurt side or even reach up to get anything out of my kitchen cabinets. He prescribed Physical Therapy twice a week for 2 months. After completing my very expensive prescription, I was almost in the same amount of pain as I was when I started, and still unable to sleep on my side or reach up to the cabinets. I discontinued the therapy. Knowing the awful pain I was in, my awesome husband surprised me with a gift certificate to An Sen thinking I should try some acupuncture treatments to see if it would help. After my very FIRST acupuncture treatment, I was able to sleep on my side that very night!!!!!!!! I was truly amazed! I was paired up with Liza, one of the newest additions to An-Sen. She is AWESOME! Every time I come in she tells me about a new article she read dealing with shoulder pain and that we are going to add something else to my treatment. She's actually thinking about me when I'm not there...how cool is that? A Dr. who really wants to heal her patients?? What a concept!!! I have seen her 6 times and cannot believe the difference she has made. My shoulder is pretty messed up and I was told (by the Orthopedist) that it could take up to a year for it to completely heal. Anyway, I'm not totally healed yet, but I am well on my way and am able to do pretty much everything without any pain at all...and that's after 6 treatments folks....NOT A YEAR! So, for those of you who have any joint pain like me and aren't sure what to do...THIS IS IT! And, I would ask for Liza...she is a true healer! more

Best $90 spent for treatment 8/2/2010

I've been having a shoulder problem lately and I was convinced it was going to take weeks for the pain to subside or for the issue to even go away. My gut told me getting acupuncture was the way to go versus seeing a chiropractor even though I've never had acupuncture before. Pros: Everything I experienced was great!! more

Absolutely An Sen 4/14/2010

I have never had anything but the best experiences at An Sen. Their acupuncurists (I have worked with Alysia once, and Tanya many times) are knowledgeable, patient, and skilled. Both are true healers. The receptionist is very friendly and calm, and always willing to work with my schedule and get me an appointment ASAP. I always feel comfortable and relaxed in the beautiful environment at An Sen, which is cozy without feeling cramped, and decorated with a down-to-earth yet GORGEOUS fusion of antique and modern pieces (most with an Asian flair). The walls are also beautifully painted to add mood and aid in relaxation. I always walk out feeling healed and renewed. Thank you <3 Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Acupuncture and more 11/5/2009

I really love this place, the care and style of the docs is second to none. Now that they have a chiropractor it makes this place complete. Karen really spends time with you, which is so rare in a chiropractor. I love that she includes cranial sacral. Pros: Acupuncture, Chiropractics and Massage Cons: None to think of more

An Sen Acupuncture and Massage is amazing. 7/30/2009

Tanya Zhu is an amazing and gifted acupuncturist and Michael Grawcock is one of the best massage therapists I've ever been treated by. I have found healing from 2 car accidents in this clinic and am grateful. more

Wouldn't go anywhere else! 3/4/2009

I've been seeing Alysia for acupuncture for a few years now and would highly recommend her along with anyone else currently working at An Sen. I've also had a massage from both Michael and Ashley and would recommend them both. Michael gives a mean hot stone massage and Ashley is great at getting in deep to my aching muscles. My next treatment will be a combo acupuncture/deep tissue massage treatment with Tanya and Ashley. I can't wait! Pros: plenty of parking, saturday appointments, newly expanded clinic space Cons: none at all more

Great Chinese Medicine 9/3/2008

What a wonderful clinic Alysia has in the SE industrial district. Her Spa/Clinic is just the best kept secret in portland. My treatments are really special. Thanks Pros: The Vibe, the docs Cons: can't think of any more

Great Acupuncture, Some Great Advice 6/21/2008

I went to see Alysia at An Sen acupuncture in Portland Oregon. I have had acupuncture done in Boston, but never got the same results. Alysia quickly made me feel better with a schedule of treatments. Her Clinic is just an amazing space and feels more like a spa. Pros: Treatments that work Cons: Not having acupuncture everyday more

Simplicity in Healing, an urban sanctuary 6/7/2008

If you ever feel up to an experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine. You should go and see Alysia Anderson. Her clinic An Sen, meaning "Peaceful Heart" in Chinese is exactly that and a true blend of east meets west. From the antique chinese furniture to brightly colored walls, their retro asian vibe is simply amazing. I really like my time there, it is perhaps the only hour of relaxation I get in a week. Pros: Simple and Relaxing , powerful treatments Cons: none more

Best Massage Ever 3/30/2008

I have chronic back trouble. I have never been into massage treatments. I was given gift certificates and I always went, but I never had a satisfying massage experience until I had one from Ashley Brown. She has the aura of a healer, and I felt worlds better after I left the treatment room. (In fact, I slept for several hours after I got home and I've never felt so rested!) She is so strong, even though she doesn't look it!! I was so relaxed..... I will definitely be going back. Pros: Amazing massage therapist! Cons: none more

Stellar Treatment 3/26/2008

After cutting my hand badly on a glass sliding door, my doctor told me to try acupuncture for my scar tissue. It was really painful and I was getting worried that this pain might be with me for a long time. I went to An Sen Clinic to get the acupuncture for my scar. I had many needles put along the scar and after a couple of treatments, I noticed far less pain. I am going regularly and it only gets better. An Sen is a really nice clinic, and the care is very personal. Pros: A great Acupuncturist Cons: None more

An end to my Sinus Problems 3/14/2008

I have been going to AnSen Clinic to see Alysia for 2 months. I have had chronic sinus problems every winter for years. Alysia started with acupuncture and followed up with a herbal formula. At first the acupuncture really cleared up my sinus passages, then the combination of herbs really helped them stay clear. I am so happy I found acupuncture. Her clinic is really awesome. Be sure to check out the earth and fire treatment room, It is so relaxing and beautiful. Thanks for all the help. Pros: Getting Results, Treatment Rooms are Amazing Cons: None more

acupuncture covered by my insurance 3/5/2008

When I started my new Job, I was so happy to find out that my insurance carrier now covered acupuncture. I found AnSen Clinic in my providers guide and booked in to see Alysia. Her treatments are very thorough and the results I am getting are great. I like that she is open late on Fridays, that way I get a good start to my weekends. I would highly recommend Alysia to anyone seeking a competent and caring practitioner. Pros: Late Friday appointments, Clinic space is great Cons: None more

Really Works 2/25/2008

Alysia is so kind and gentle and made acupuncture not at all scary. I am now going regularly and have found that my stomach problems are getting better. Highly recommended. more

Zen Space For My Soul 2/25/2008

Wow what an amazing space, the colors and furniture alone are enough to heal, well maybe not heal but close enough. I leave the real healing to Alysia. She is an amazing acupuncturist and really helps me with my lower back and shoulder pain. Her massage therapists are truly deep tissue workers, especially Michael. Check this place out, you won't ever want to leave. Pros: space, music, long treatments Cons: none more

More Than I Expected! 9/4/2007

I initially went to AnSen Clinic last spring for some chronic ailments I have developed because of sports related mishaps. My typical experience with acupuncture treatments have left me feeling fine for a short while but not since seeing Alysia at AnSen. She treats the whole me. Not just my sore neck or knees. She has a way of getting to the deeper me. there are acupuncturists, then there is AnSen Clinic. WOW!! Pros: results, great atmosphere, treats you like a king (or queen), easy to find parking. Cons: needs more locations throughout the city. more
