I really wanted to take a moment and let you know my experience at Amoskeag Urgent Dental Care. I had a root canal 10 yrs ago when I lived in PA. It never was ""quite right"" over the years it would flare up and cause a crazy amount of pain. I would live on Aleve and Oragel for a few weeks and it would go away, but it was kind of always there aching. Finally enough was enough and called my local dentist. After finding out that I would have to wait a week for an appointment I came across Amoskeag Urgent's phone number online and called. They were super nice and offered a morning appointment. (I called at closing time!) \r \r Now let me be honest here for a minute. I almost canceled. One because I am a big ole chicken! And two because I came on here and read some reviews and since I was already chicken about going, the few negative reviews just added to my panicking. But after another night of pain I decided just to go, ignoring the negative reviews. I am so glad I did. \r \r From the time I walked into the door everyone was amazing. I was there for minutes before being taken back for xrays by the sweetest girl you could imagine. She answered all my questions and concerns. I asked about billing and she went over everything my insurance would cover and what needed to be done. I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved!) at the reasonable pricing. She brought up my xrays and showed me and great detail what was going on and where the pain was coming from and why. I have never had someone be so thorough and informative at a dentist office. \r \r I was treated by both doctors because I had both an extraction and a root canal. Both showed me great compassion and care. My comfort was without a doubt their number one priority. Even better, as a busy mom who does not have a lot of time for appointments I was in and out in less then 2 hrs for BOTH the root canal and extraction! Last root canal I had else where I had to go back 2 times to have it completed. What a relief I did not have to do that here. \r \r I really must stress to you that I am a worrywart who would normally be sitting in the chair freaking out!! But there I was making jokes with this lovely group of people and laughing! My visit was so positive that I will be switching to them permanently for both me and my children. \r \r Thank you so much Amoskeag Urgent Dental Care! I appreciate the wonderful care I received. more

Was up all night 5/7/13 with excruciating pain coming from my bottom tooth to the point I could've chopped off a leg and not even felt it. Found Amoskeag Urgent Dental online first thing in the morning of 5/8/13 and was enticed by their website which said I could be seen immediately and work could be done the same day if needed, and also if needed payment plans were available. I called and got an appt for noon, receptionist was nice over the phone so I was very positive...until I walked in. This same receptionist who handled my phone called was there to greet me at the door only she didn't greet me all I got was an annoyed sounding ""do you have an appointment"". Without even acknowledging my pain or why I was even there the next question was about insurance, I didn't have my card but I had my husband text me the ID number which I read off to her. I have a very good plan through Harvard Pilgrim, but to the receptionist she acted as if I had insurance I bought off a cereal box. No respect for patient privacy either she spoke extremely loudly and almost had a juvenile ""valley girl"" attitude with her voice as she practically announced to the whole waiting room she would need to call and verify my plan, and when she got off the phone CALLED to me from my seat that they were not part of my network and my plan would only cover my bill there if it was accidental, and I could still be seen but it would be out of pocket. Still being in the agony I was in I said I need to at least find out what's going on so she said I can put you down for an xray and examination for $103. I said fine and was seen almost immediately where they discovered my problem was a filling I had about 12 years ago had gotten loose and fallen out and the exposed root had gotten infected. He immediately said that I could either have it pulled for $265 or root canal and crown for $1200. What kind of dentist talks like they are selling you a suit in a department store? I told him well I don't have $1200 to be spending on dental care today so I asked about the payment plans I read about on the website. Come to find out their ""payment plan"" is a credit card you have to apply for, so I said I guess I could do that although the last thing I wanted was another credit card. They bring the application right in while I'm laying on the dentist chair and it's asking about income so I told them I am a stay at home mom my husband is the income of the family, and all I got was a simple ""then I guess you won't qualify for financing"" At this point I had yet to be shown any compassion for my pain or given any other option other than pay up or get the hell out. Since I couldn't pay I was sent out the door with a narcotic prescription after I payed my bill of course. Went home and called Harvard Pilgrim and asked some questions about my plan and was asked straight out ""do you grind your teeth at night"" I was honest and told the guy on the phone that I did very badly and I have to get a new bite guard soon to which his response was ""if that was a legitimate dentist that you just went to, when he examined your teeth he would've seen the evidence of you grinding your teeth, which is considered ACCIDENTAL and the cause of your filling falling out. "" So the procedure I needed should've been covered but that's ok I have found ways to provide temporary relief until I get to a different office and I will get the care I need there. I also find it strange that as I read all the reviews so many people mentioned the same exact line I was given by both the dental assistant and the actual dentist "" we really want to save the tooth with a root canal and crown"". I was also given the option of extraction but when I would say yes, I was immediately talked out of it and given this line again. Next time I need to go anywhere in a rush I will take the time to read reviews first, unfortunately I let my pain do the thinking for me. more

Wonderful experience for what should have been an unpleasant one.  Dr. Salem was very down to earth and gentle while giving me a root canal and crown.  I love that they are open Saturdays to accommodate for working families with children. As a person terrified of dental procedures the people of Amoskeag Dental made me feel relaxed and in good care. I will continue to use them for my dental needs.\r more

Great experience! 5/24/2012

I am in Manchester from Oregon on business. Tonight I experienced a dental emergency and went to a local urgent care not knowing where to turn at 8 p.m. The urgent care receptionist made some calls for me for the specialized dental care they could not provide. I was walking into my hotel lobby when I received a return phone call from Dr. Adam Salem offering to see me immediately. He drove to the hotel and I followed him to his office. He solved my problem and did not charge me at all! He suggested this review which I am very happy to do. There are GOOD people in this world and Dr. Salem is one of them. I am so pleased with my pain relief and now I can enjoy the Memorial Day weekend here in beautiful New England without worrying about my teeth until I return to Oreon in 5 days! Thank you, Dr. Salem. You are the best! more

Lacking professionalism 4/11/2012

Not very professional. When I asked the assistant a question about the procedure I was going to have she couldn't be bothered to get off her cell phone. Just like how I was greated when I came in, everyone was texting on their cell phones and made me wait. I didn't feel very welcome and felt like I was intruding on their routine. Normally I would have walked out but I was in pain, after I saw the doctor and was leaving I noticed the same girls still on their phones. If you go there get ready to sit down, pay the bill, get out. No one is in charge. Is there any personal care anymore? more

Get out your wallet and keep it out! 11/30/2011

I went to this dental practive with a tooth ache, left with a root canal and a wallet about $900 lighter...for a front tooth. \r The average for a front tooth root canal from my searches online is well under this amount! \r You are given no pricing over the phone, lured in by a quick response to be seen. In the end, after $900 spent, my tooth still hurts and I don't want to go back. \r I have never seen a dentist office that comes in and grabs your credit card for payment while your in the chair. I like getting paid too but this was just too much.\r The dental hygenist was complaining about strept throat and a feeling of glass in her throat ,""for the last two weeks"". Was the facility nice, yes. Was the staff cordial, yes. Was my dentist decent, yes. I should have known about the pricing when I arrived and the office had nobody in the waiting room! more

Tooth extraction 8/20/2011

To Dr Yadani and Staff,\r Thank You for seeing me so quickly. Had it not been for you I would have gone to the ER and paid a rediculous amount of money to relieve me of the pain I was in. You made me feel comfortable and I couldn't imagine a tooth extraction going any smoother from the greeting by the receptionist, xray and application of local I was very comfortable. I did not feel rushed and was grateful that you explained everything that was going to happen. I have followed the postop instructions and have only minor discomfort. You and your staff are very courteous and professional and I feel fortunate that I discovered your business!\r Sincerely,\r Mike Corcoran more

Treated Me Like a Jerk 4/21/2011

I experienced excruciating dental pain yesterday and went to Amoskeag Urgent Dental Care for for help. In short, I was treated like a jerk. After explaining that I was in pain and needed help, I received little more than a blank stare from their brunette receptionist. She did not acknowledge my pain and asked if I had an appointment. When I explained I had neither an appointment nor insurance, the message quickly became clear- cash paying customers, even those excruciating pain, are an unwelcome nuisance. My painful condition was ignored and I was offered no help and no services whatsoever. I was left to walk out of their office without even the pretense that they tried to help me. more

Quick, affordable and effective. 9/19/2010

Last Tuesday I awoke with severe pain and inflamation on the left side of my mouth. Needing to work all day, I suffered through the next twenty four hours planning to find a dentist to address the issue the next morning. A coworker suggested Amoskeag Urgent Dental Care to me. I called the next morning and they set up an appointment for me just a few hours later on the same day. When I arrived I was seen immediately, Dr. Foud Yadani and his helpful assistants could tell I had an abscess before even looking in my mouth due to the swelling. In less than 30 minutes I was diagnosed, given a prescription for antibiotics and presented with several options as to how to remedy the situation. Though I didn't have time to have the tooth pulled that day, they were prepared to do so the same day that I had called for the first time. I was amazed, and even more delighted at how affordable my appointment had been without dental insurance. I highly recommend Dr. Yadani to anyone in need of immediate dental attention, especially if time, comfort and/or money are an issue. more

Dr. Salem, thank you so much for repairing Herman's front teeth. When we were told there was no charge, we stood in disbelief. You are very generous! We will give a donation to a charity and keep the generosity going. Thank You! \r more

It was great! 7/8/2010

Normally I am very stressed out going to a dental office. From the 30 mins I spent with Dr. Salem discussing treatment and going over the financial aspects of everything, I was put right at ease, no anxiety whatsoever. It was great! \r more

OUTSTANDING!!!!! 8/27/2008

Is it even possible to put fantastic experience and dentist in the same sentence?? Yes it is if you are talking about Dr. Salem!! I was in agony with a wisdom tooth gone bad. I really think I would rather go through child birth 5 times in a row than experience that kind of tooth pain ever again! I actually emailed Dr.Salem's office the night before just to make sure they could deal with my situation and not only did I receive and email back, but 2 emails, one from the Dr. himself and one from a staff member. I called first thing the next morning and was seen a few hours later and I was pain free!! Dr. Salem's staff is seriously among the nicest, most professional, nonjudgmental group I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. My hygienist was incredible, knowledgeable, funny, and made me completely comfortable. They use state of the art equipment and Dr. Salem is so fast he's done before you even knew he began. I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled and I'm 33, so its no small feat. It took what seemed like seconds, and I felt absolutely nothing. I was in and out in less than a half hour. I don't have insurance either, and Dr.Salem's prices can't be beat, It's painless on your wallet as well. Dr. Salem and his staff are professional, down to earth and easy going. I haven't been to the dentist in so long I won't even say but not once did I get lectured or talked down to about my dental neglect. In fact, I'm excited now to actually start going back to the dentist and fixing the rest of my problems!! I highly recommend Amoskeag Urgent Dental Care and I will be a returning customer for a long time, even though I have to drive over an hour to get there, it's worth every bit of gas. Not only will I return, but the rest of my family as well. The only thing scary about going to Dr.Salem is that you will quickly realize how horrible and untalented your old dentist was!!!! Pros: Super fast, friendly, state of the art equipment, knowledgeable, professional, great prices for uninsured. more

Excellent !!! 11/2/2006

He completed my root canal in 30 minutes with all this high tech gizmos all the while explaining what he was doing and reassuring me. \r You need a dentist ? This is the guy.
