I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail that Dr. Amini took. I paid $300...(also they make you pay up front before any service)... for an exam, xrays and cleaning and did not feel that he thoroughly examined my teethe or that they were cleaned to the level that I am used to. I, too, found this dentist on citysearch after recently moving to San Francisco. The staff was friendly and helpful from the beginning, and Dr. Amini is wonderful. There is a very friendly specialist on staff to assist with billing/payment matters, and the entire office is incredibly helpful in this regard. I will continue to see Dr. Amini. more

I found the experience at this office very pleasant. The admin. staff were very friendly and got my insuance benefits prior my appointment. I was running a bit late for my first appt. and they were totally accomodating. they flossed my teeth and scraped my tongue ( never done that in a dentist office--very cool stuff), then polished my teeth before the examexam which was very comprehensive. We talked about my fillings, gums, and gaps . I had braces as a teen but now my teeth are getting out of line. Dr. amini is a certified Invisaline ( bad spelling) dentist. The staff helped me out a lot in the processing of my insurance. I just finished my appointment and replaced my yucky silver fillings with tooth colored fillings. No pain, look great. I was surprised by the ""Walk-ins Welcome"" sign that greeted me upon arriving at the office. The forms were very long, and asked more personal questions than I thought necessary. I was surprised that the Dr. Amini did not meet with me first to generally understand my current dental situtation. I had x-rays first (traditional, not digital), and an odd perfunctory cleaning (no scraping of tartar). He then looked at my teeth with the video camera, but never conducted a thorough exam (i.e. with a pick, looking at each tooth and the gums). He was perfectly pleasant and certainly knew enough about dentistry, but I left the office a bit worried about the dental treatment I had agreed to have. I chose this office to get a second opinion about my smile. I could not afford to pay 15000 to get ten veneers and gum surgery. When I called to make an appointment the receptionist was very caring. My cosmetic examination with Dr. Amini was very comprehensive and he gave my several options including Invisilign. Without shaving my teeth as other dentists I went to recommended, Dr. aminni started me with Invisilign and I am currently wearing my seventh set and am very happy with the results so far. My teeth have actually moved and rotated so much they are not crooked any more. I still have six more months to go. My appointments are only once a month and twenty minutes at most. I have been going to Dr. Amini's practice since 1998. I love the new office on Battery st. He has the same great staff over the years. Great bedside manner and he gives great shots--no pain at all. I searched for a dentist from CitySearch and Dr. Amini was highly recommended. The office is simply a state of the art. They had already obtained my insurance information and all my benefits ahead of time. Very efficient. I had one cavity, not bad for not seeing a dentist for four years. They accomodated me by giving me a choice to come back or finish it that day. I chose to do do the filling. The assistant gave me a selectionn of CDs to choose from. From vivaldi to Metallica. Once I was numbed up, they started the cleaning followed by the filling . I didn't feel a thing and everything went very smoothly. I was recommended to Dr. Amini by my co-worker who had her veneers done by him a few months ago, her smile was amazing. I went into my consultation and was greeted by a very professional staff. During the consultation Dr. Amini placed some temporary bonding on my teeth so I could get an idea if veneers were right for me. I was instantly sold. I was then explained all the costs up front and when the procedure was done I did not get hit with any ""hidden costs"". I now have my Hollywood smile but they look so natural no one could point out what I did; I am very impressed by the whole process. Bad experience. The cleaning was done in 5 minutes. Very rush. The dark spots on my teeth surface was not cleaned at all. They didn't care. No tooth brush, or floss was given away at the end as most other dental office normally did. Overall: Strongly Not Recommended. I'll never go there in the future. Never. more

After being without dental insurance for almost 2 years, I finally decided to take care of my mouth the moment I was enrolled in this elusive benefit program. I was referred to Dr. Amini by a co-worker after my previous dentist butchered my mouth, and filled a cavity (down to the nerve). Me being a dentists nightmare (read: moneymaker) with all my unfilled cavities, Dr. Amini and his staff have always been able to give me same day or next day appointments, I've been there about 5 times total. The facility is very modern, and the receptionists are very understanding yet highly professional. Heres the best part - the mouth camera. a tiny camera is used during diagnosing problems (or lack off, for the lucky). So thats what a exposed nerve looks like. Just kidding, sorta.
