When I broke down on the I-20 I got in contact with a local towing company and they said I should have them take it to American Transmissions even though the issue was with the motor. I don't know the area very well so I was skeptical at first, but I'm really glad things worked out. The shop was busy but they were able to get me back on the road in just a few hours and it didn't even cost $300. What a deal. Amazing shop! more

I was in visiting family from out of town, when my truck began to have problems. My family member is the one who referred me to American Transmissions, and I don;t know what I would have done without that recommendation. They did a wonderful job with my truck - were able to have it done for me the same day so I could leave town the next morning. I made it home just fine! Thanks!!! more

No Mistake 2/22/2012

In the past 10 years I had the unfortunate opportunity to use American Transmissions on 3 different occasions for transmission issues on 3 different vehicles. Each time Joe and his crew did an outstanding job. Their prices are competitive and they are always professional. I have never had to come back for the same car or problem at that. I found out that they also do general repairs and I have needed a regular mechanic desperately. more

I recently bought a discount card for American and came in to use it. I expected there to be some kind of catch but only ended up being greeted by a nice young man and top notch service. I will be bringing my business back there. more

I had a great experience at American. Mike is great to work with. I got the number on recomendation from a friend and called over to Mike, he was gone for the day but called from his cell a little later to help me out. He got me right back on the road! 2 thumbs UP!!! more

I highly recommend this company for their transmission work. I went to a dealership with a transmission leak and was quoted $750 for a transmission seal. I then took the car to American and they charged me $119 to repair the same leak. Very reputable company. more

They saved me a ton of $$$ 6/8/2011

I was quoted $3500 from the dealer to do my transmission on my Accord. Mr. King assured me that he could save me more than $1000. After inspecting my transmission, they determined that it failed from overheating. They rebuilt my transmission and replaced my cooling system for $2100. Thus keeping his word and then some. I recommend this shop to all of my friends. more

I had my 2006 Lincoln towed to American. These guys are phenomenal! I could not figure out what was wrong with my car. Mike is a really cool professional. They quickly diagnosed and repaired it. The charges were reasonable. more

After purchasing a free oil change card from this company I was very leery about a Transmission shop doing regular repairs. But after taking my car to them for the oil change, I am very impressed. They do a great job at regular repairs too. I will take my car back each and every time I need a repair. more

The service here is great. Joe is really honest with you about your cars condition. He explains why the problem could be occurring and the proper way to fix it. He makes it easy to understand especially when someone is clueless when it comes to cars. more
