American School-Dog Grooming

I take my dog Jingles to get his hair and nails done and they are wonderful . I don't know how they do it because he is a brat and will not let me cut his nails , but they do not seem to have a problem . The staff are all sweet as can be and really seen to love all the dogs they care for . My jingles is always happy to go there and never seems scared of anyone there so that shows me how nice they are. Best place I have ever been too ! more

My name is Deanna & I have brought my dog to American Dog Grooming School since my dog Bailey was 6 yrs old. The owner and all of her help are the kindess and sweetest people you will ever meet. They will treat your animal as if it was their own. They always did a wonderful job on Bailey and Bailey loved going there too! She was the best dog you could ever ask for. Bailey died June 28, She would of been 14 yrs old August 29. I want to thank all of you at ASODG for always taking such great care of Bailey and most of all for your kindness. more

It was the worst experience ever, for me and my dog!\r \r I had to wait for my dog, the lady was rude to me when I dropped my dog off and pick him up...and it was my first time. I felt as if I was interupting her day by bringing my dog in.\r \r And when they thought I had left, but I had forgotten my purse in the sitting area. The lady was screaming and swearing at her student, she was very rude, and I stood there to hear her ranting and raving about the dog on her table, calling it names and horrible language calling. That explained all the bells on the door, so they know to behave when someone walks in the place. \r I dont recommend this place at all, this lady is not for real.\r \r I now go to Catherines Pet Parlor on Woodward and 12 1/2 mile,\r the ladies are great there! Nice as could be and your pup comes out looking like a million! And they have all the animals where you can see them! No bells on the door to hide any bad behavior. Never had such a great place till now for my pup! more

My dogs love the place and always come home looking and smelling like a million bucks,plus there cheaper then the rest. They use room temp air dryers and special shampoo for my dogs dry skin which really helps. You can tell they love my babys almost as much as me. more

I have done business with this place for about 10 years. I remember when it was at another location and owned by someone else. Therese has done wonders with this place and the people she teaches. She also does community work. They are are great and the prices can't be beat! more

We've been taking our dogs to American School of Dog Grooming since the late 80s. We have had three Chows over the years and they have done amazing work on them. If you know Chows you know they have tons of hair and require a great deal of work to clean and groom. Chrissy does an amazing job! Our most recent baby loves going there... actually rushes in to get cleaned up. Therese and her staff are professional and thorough. more

I take my dog in monthly and it works out just fine. What you didn't say in your posting was that the reason they keep the dog all day is because they don't use blow dryers or machines to dry the dog. That has to be better for their coats and stress levels. I have had one incident where the dog had a minor cut, but its a school and they made sure to show me and let me know what to look for. They really are a good group and I am always pleased with the the little scarfs that they thread through his collar. You cant beat the price either. more

My dog was there all day, ridiculous!\r Dropped of at nine am and picked it up after 5 pm on a saturday.\r They said they couldn't get him dry, he still shed a lot after.\r \r I wont be back. more

We take both of our dogs here for grooming and they are great with the animals. They are a bit cheaper than other groomers and take pride with what they do. They play with the dogs and spend time with them, not just trim them up and put them in a cage till someone comes to get them. I would highly recommend them. more
