The Vet is personable and nice, however after care services apparently non existent. Usually owners are given a list of things to watch for after their pets surgery, a number to call if problem occur. Nothing. There website states they offer a senior discount, not true. "That's from our old website" . Really, I think they should update the site and not deceive seniors. Seemed like they were not concerned or were unaware as to how to best serve their clients and pets. Not what I expected nor used to regarding animal care. more

I've been coming to American Pet Hospital for the last 5 years and Dr. Sandhu seems very knowledgeable about his job. The whole staff is very loving and attentive to my needs. I refuse to take my pets anywhere else. I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this place. Maybe they just can't afford the services here so they leave bad reviews. Some people don't understand that having a pet costs money and if you're willing to make the commitment to raise an animal you should be willing to pay whatever you need to to keep them healthy. All these low reviews really shock me. Dr Sandhu is an awesome vet. I'm not the one that usually goes on and right reviews but seeing these bad reviews really made me compelled to redeem the credibility of this hospital. I think when people have a bad experience here they are more likely to write a review than people that have good experiences. more

I am a person who will take in strays. So I was looking for a vet when I moved to the Modesto area. I stumbled upon Doc and I am extremely grateful. His whole staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease. And Dr. Sandhu will do what it takes. If he doesn't have the answers, he will research or find it even if it is calling someone. I will always be a client of American Pet Hospital. more

I drive from Fresno for the last 4 1/2 years to have Dr. Sandhu see my pets. Its the only vet I will take my pets to. He has seen all of my pets for the last 17 years. more

I had my dogs ears cropped here and they didn't stand up after so many wraps. He told me we should do a second surgery and told me that will work. They did not stand up at all. I regret even doing it cheap or not. My dog has also been sick for the past 8 months and he prescribed some antibiotics like always and never worked so he told me I need to take him to a specialist because its a rare condition. Anyways another vet has helped me more and seems more concerned than him. He wont stay in the room with you no longer than 2 minutes when he is already walking out and doesn't let you get a word in. Some Vet Assistants there are pretty good except for one who always has an adittude and smells like cigarettes all the time. yuck!\r more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS VET!!!!! I took my cat to this vet to have her eye looked at 2 months ago. I have warned them numerous times that she is a stray and is not friendly and skittish, a female vet put her under and checked her eye gave me some ointment and charged $318. Needless to say the ointment didn't work. I took her back for a follow up once again warning them that she is a stray and NOT friendly. A male doctor walked through the front door went to the back put on a white coat came in the small room and stuck his hand in her cage (didn't look at her chart) needless to say she tried to scratch him. He then goes to the back gets a towel and lets her out of the cage and she goes crazy in the small room. He then gets livid with me and states that I never told him she was ""wild"" (if he would have read her chart, I have told the office numerous times and she has been there before). He was a tall Indian doctor and for the record he is the doctor and why would he stick his hand in a cage without gloves or protection (I also stated to him as he was sticking his unprotected hands in the cage that it wasn't a good idea to do that)! Front staff was very nice but this is the worst place to send a pet. I was passing on the word to my friend NOT to ever take your pets there and I found that other people have had horrible experiences. This doctor should be ashamed of his behavior and gives great vets a horrible reputation. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE VET!!!!!!!! more

So far so good...Just finished reading some of the claims here...\r the neighbors dog dislodged a part of the fencing between our properties, our dog Jake went through and fell into their pool which is only about two feet from the fence... We didn't even know...one of our other neighbors came to the door, with Jake soaking wet and blood all around him.. he was outside and heard the dogs barking and saw Jake through the fence trying to claw his way out of the pool..he went to the neighbors door and they said they didn't know the dog so didn't try to rescue him, Mark didn't care! He went in after him, THANK GOD! His toes on the hind legs were completely worn down and bloody, blood spurting out one toe..we rushed him to APH because it was close to us. I called, they said they would take him. When we first arrived there were some customers waiting in the waiting area, but no one at the desk.. I called out, "is anyone there? I'm the one who called about my dog falling in the pool.. my dog more

Affordable service, and they have extended hours to accomodate. Open 7 days and Dr Sandhu is very knowledgable. more

My partner and I took in a stray about a month ago. We were referred to APH by a friend of ours. We had looked and felt for a scar to see if she had already been fixed and didn't see or feel one. We took our puppy there today to have her fixed. A couple of hours later I get a call stating she had previously been fixed and could be picked up tonight. When I went to pick her up I asked is there was any way they could cut part of the cost since they didn't actually do the spay there in their office and they told me no. They hadn't checked for scarring, or done x-rays her. Needless to say, I had to pay full price for them to cut my puppy open for no reason!!! more

The vet didnt do a urine test for urinating in my house just gave him a shot & sent him home. When he didnt get better i took him to another vet that got urine from him to find out he had a serious condition where his body was producing crystals that could keep him from urinating causing death if not found in time. more

I've never had a problem with APH. They took care of my beloved dog for several years, peformed surgery without any problems, treated him through the horrible pet food recall and then put him to rest. I have 2 cats now and i take them to APH as well. Once I tried another facility and was horribly overcharged, i wish i would have just waited 1/2 hr for APH to open. Anyway they have always been great about working with u financially as well. I've been going to APH for 7-8 years now and have never had a problem and do recommend them to my friends. more

THIS PLACE IS JUST AWEFUL!!! I took my beagle to them when he was a pup to get him neutered and when I went to pick him up, he was bleeding. I asked about it and they told me it would stop. They told me he could stay for the night and I asked if they had staff that was there 24 hrs and they said NO. I asked what would happen if he got worse in the middle of the night and no one was there for him and they had no answer. I took my dog home and the bleeding didn't stop, he was actually bleeding out and would have died if I didn't contact another vet for emergency services. I took him to Maze Animal Hospital and they had to do something to stop the bleeding and had to wrap his whole lower half so tight with his little peepee sticking out so he could potty. My pup was a mess. Luckily, he made it through this. \r \r Also, the office was a mess. They had people working there that looked like they were at a party or something. DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!!!Never will I take any of my pets here. My poor cat suffered after being treated there. No pain meds were given. Please who ever reads this find another place. research where ever you go. I wish i would have. Our experience here was a complete horror.This place should be shut down. I almost lost my best friend do to there negligence! more
