A++ 11/10 I recently had my wedding reception at this post and it was amazing! I had about 150 guests in the pavilion. Mike Myers (commander) went over every detail with me so I had nothing to worry about when the big day came. He was very flexible, easy going, and made my day stress free. If I had a question about anything he got back to me immediately and had answers without hesitation. When I got there, everything was set up and ready to go! The cost of everything was extremely reasonable. At dinner service, the food came out steaming hot and right on time. If one dish ran out the servers already had the new dish waiting and out. All of my guests complimented how good the food was several times. The bartenders made delicious drinks that my guests are still raving about! For a thirsty crowd of 150 people, there was no wait time for a drink. They were quick and efficient. Through out the reception, the bathrooms had no wait time and were kept up/clean as well at the outside area. Overall, I would recommend this venue again without a doubt. The staff, food, drinks, venue ect. was outstanding. Guests are still talking about it weeks later and asking for the commander's number to book their parties!\r \r more

Had a great party for my Mom's 100th in the Pavillion. The food, staff, set-up, and bartenders were all top notch! Mike, the Commander, was so helpful and easy to deal with. It made the process of the party planning a breeze! I expected the guests to cut-out before the party's end, but all were having such a good time that they didn't want to leave. We got lots of wonderful compliments on the day, which was beautiful, fun and delicious to boot! Thanks to the American Legion, Mike and his staff for making our event such a success! more

I had a surprise 40th Birthday Party for my husband and had about 125 people. The party was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! We had the party in the Pavillion and what a great setup they have here, we had a bomb fire, guests were able to plan bean bags in the back and we had music all the doors open and we had a great breeze. The bartender was a blast she was funny and had all guests laughing. The Commander, Mike kept checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly and what a great guy. The CHICKEN was so good and we had baked mostaccoli an assortment of salads and beef or should i say the BEST beef i have ever tasted. Since last fall we have booked a baby shower for my sister for this spring. more

We recently had our wedding reception in the Hall at the American Legion in January 2012. From the start meeting the Commander, Mike Meyers he assured me that my wedding at the American Legion was going to run smoothly, he promised to provide great service and the food would be to die for. Mike was correct my wedding was PERFECT... the staff was so helpful, friendly and accomodating to our every need. The service was top notch and the food OH MY GOODNESS was so delicious and hot and soooooo good, I had several of my family members and friends call me after the wedding to rave about the food, the chicken especially was soooo good! I was so impressed with everything Mike and the AMerican Legion had to offer we will be having many more parties here and the catering was defintely by far the best i have ever had. Great job !!!!!!!!! more

The commander Mike Meyers did everything he could to make my son's Eagle Court of Honor a wonderful experience for all that attended. The guests all complemented the food. The cost to hold such an event is more than reasonable. Mike Meyer's support of the Boy Scouts is outstanding. more

I hate hearing people bash this place and its commander when its the nicest, well run american legion ive ever seen. if you could of seen this place 10 years ago it was a hole in the wall. you couldnt even tell it was there. until the present commander(mike meyers) took control. now its all remodeled, beautifully landscaped and you can tell its there now with the lit up sign out front and it even got its own stop light and turning lane! the bartenders are very nice the staff very helpful but the food is the sh""t !!! fish fry is awsome, prime rib is the best, but nothing beats the fried chicken! id put it up against any other chicken any day! ive been coming here for events a long time and its the best its ever been! so stop in and try it for your self and make your own opinion! i think youll find out these other people are nuts!! and dont forget how much post 18 does for the veterans, scouts and the community! more

Staff always willing to help.Beautiful hall and bar.very clean and bartenders are polite.Low prices for hall rental and the food is the best for party,weddings etc.I've read old reviews and fine them untrue. Commander treats you with respect if you do so also.Having wedding in June inhall for 250+.Will follow up with more reviews more

I cant even give this place any stars due to the ignorance of The COMMANDER. But since i have to rate it in order to write a review it gets 1 star for the nice man i did speak to prior to speaking with MIKE MEYERS. i tried to give this man the benefit of the doubt even after reading all these bad reviews about him! You were rude and ignorant and I am ashamed to have u listed and known to be an American Vet. I have never been so insulted in my life!!! He claims that my husbands schedule of working Mon-Fri and only being available to do community service on weekends was to complicated for him....whats so complicated about a work schedule being Mon-Fri??? Thought its pretty normal to me!!! After he hollered at ME about speaking with my husband 5 times and not needing any of this, he hung up on me!!! First off, u spoke with him one time; i know beacuse i was there when he spoke with u. Secondly, what in God's right mind made u feel u can speak to people any way that u would like to speak to them!!! Because u have a title of being a Commander!!! I'm sorry my husband called u @6 am and left a message before he went to work informing u that he would not be able to meet with u because it was Monday and he had to work. I'm sorry he was being human and informing u rather than having stood u up. When i called back with what i had to say, this man had the nerve to say to me ""Lady r u calling me, talking to me this way?"" NO MR. COMMANDER!!!!! u called me talking to me that way!!! A man that would talk to any woman the way that this man did...is no man!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone, and i am pretty sure not everyone there is like this because i spoke with someone before him and had very much respect and was very helpful with information. I am ashamed that this place has such a bad name due to one person's lack of respect towards another human being. and as u can see i didnt wait 49 days to write a review about u, i spoke with u approx. 1hr. ago. This place really needs to take a second look at who they have running this place for them. more

how do you condem a Legion hall you have never been in? any one can write a bad rating . or An out right LIE, or half truth.After our 4th noncohaerant phone conversation I got hot when you stood me up for an appointment , AND I WOULD NEVER LET ANY ONE WALK IN ON SOMEONE ELSES Party to look at a hall... ALL our vollenteers work hard to support our local veterans,children, AND TROOPS OVERSEAS. I was ignorarnt to you . no one else but me. AS A VETERAN or civilian I WAS HOLDING MY MANNERS 2 RAMBLING PHONE CALLS LONGER THAN SHOULD BE EXPECTED...dont waist peoples time and they might be more pleasant. and if it was'nt conveint to meet , you should not make appointment. more

I was inquiring about having a large party at the American Legion POst 18 in Lockport. I was never met with such disrespect or unprofessionalism in my life. I spoke with MIKE MEYERS. It was the most offensive conversations that I have ever experienced. He started to get very disrespectful, especially to someone who would be a paying client. He told me to call the VFW because they had a bigger room anyway and then finally called me the absolute most vulgar obscenity that I have ever heard. I cannot believe that this man is a member of our country's Veterans. In my entire life I have never been treated so poorly. more

Rented the Hall for a Wedding and was told the hours were one thing and then the day of the wedding the Commander changed them at the last minute. I felt we were overcharged for the drinks. $1100 for 2/15 hours of open bar for 125 people (not all drinking) seams to be pretty expensive to me. The floor was so dirty that the brides dress can't be cleaned. I was embarrassed because I thought they would have mopped the floors before a wedding was booked. Would not recommend this hall to anyone. Contract changes at the commanders word and you have no say so about it. more

IF YOU BOOK THIS PLACE, GET IT IN WRITING FROM THE COMMANDER - MIKE. Called him in November 2009 and discussed booking for a wedding reception on March 20. Went and looked at the place and Mike said to mail the deposit. Mailed the deposit check (which was not cashed). Called a couple weeks later and he said no problem, got you in the book. I figured he was just holding the check. A week before the reception, he said he never heard of me, said he wouldn't have told me to mail the check and accused me of pranking, cussed at me and hung up. I think he got offered more money and bumped us. 6 days to the wedding and no place to go!! Pros: Inexpensive, decent looking place Cons: lost bookings, no contract more
