First time, they will probably give u appt right away. As they dont want to loose a customer. and they know for sure that nobody returns, so they try to do as much as they can on the first visit ...may be ven spend 3-4 hrs.
My case, I never had even a tooth ache before. I went for genral check up and to get scaling done. I am a physician and I had so many dentist friends, who did scaling for me over the yrs and never mentioned anything about a cavity.
So, one dentist comes, checks up and says , u might have a cavity, so lets do x-rays. They do X ray, comes back and says ...there is a 2 mm cavity ( which is well above the cut off to call it a cavity). Convincec me, saying that if I dont have it filled at this stage it will become a cavity. Since its a preventive procedure, they said it ill be paid for by my insurance.
As I didnt feel the need, I told them that I would only get it done if its completely covered, otherwise i will go to my dental friend. They cjhecked with my insurance, says its covered and did it. The procedure was done so horribly I have pain now all the time. I later found out that they over filled the cavity and the pain is form non alignment.
Worst part comes, they decided to charge me 600 more after my insurance paid 1500 and never contacted me to pay the bill. They passed it debt collection , without even contacting me. tHE debt collection, sent a letter out to my old address and since there was no response, put itup on my credit report.
Well, what can I say...pls dont go there, even for scaling.
