Amc Theatres

Two stars because the sound system was great. Everything else aweful. 17 theaters upstairs and two down. Most of the workers were downstairs. Hallway garbages overflowing. Bathroom garbages overflowing with paper towels all over the floor. Hand dryers broken. Paper towels empty. The movie previews start and simultaneously the trivia loop is showing. Took multiple visits to John the manager to get the previews fixed and it was quite obvious he was satisfied with their operation. The movie started and the lights stayed on requiring additional visits to the young manager. The concession stand workers were all standing around talking and it took a couple of minutes for one to come to the register for an order at which time they said they were out of Milk Duds as well as two other candies. The theater said now seating yet we walked in and were booted out rudely so they could clean but the theater was anything but clean when we got in there. At least it was expensive! more

I have been watching movies at AMC (formerly Loews) Boston Common since its opening. In the past it was great, but has seen a steep decline over the past two years. The floors of the common areas are always filthy, the seats in the theaters are sticky and gross. Great theater, but it is almost always jam packed on weekend evenings. You have to get tickets for the popular showings a couple hours beforehand. I needn't go on about the Boston Common theatre. The facility speaks for itself. As simply the best movie theatre I have ever been to, a trip there comes with the highest of guarantees. Pros: Variety of Films, Right off T, Great Atmosphere Cons: Expensive more

Finaly, Boston has a movie theatre that lives up to the rest of the world. The place is huge and features stadium seating with VERY comfy seats. I'm slowly getting used to the outrageous prices but its the same everywhere so I won't hold it against them. Try smuggling in your own food. I can't wait to go again. Not a place for Families but for the college crowd it can't be beat. They have a bar inside lus it is close to all the great Boston hot spots. more

WHAT A THEATER! I WAS AT THE LOEWS THEATER LOCATED AT THE BOSTON COMMOMS TODAY. I SEEN DIE ANOTHER DAY! THE SOUND EFFECT WAS INCREDIBLE. MY HEART WAS BEATING FROM THE SOUNDS EFFECTS. Having been brought up in the country, it's nice to see how much a city theather can be. This place is very nice and provides a nice park in fron of it for a romantic walk afterwards. Pros: very nice Cons: parking! more

I love the Boston Common Theatre. Being directly acrooss from ""The Commons"" gives this theatre a relaxing and romantic atmosphere. Especially at night time. The theater is very nice except the glow that the red lights that line the isles give to the screen. All the blacks in the movie are a washed out red which is very distracting to me. After paying top dollar ($10) for a movie ticket, you'd like to be able to lose yourself in the plot. Both times I've been to this theater, I've been distracted by appalling audience behavior -- the most recent was the presence of a two-year old in a PG13-rated film. The real kicker was when the mother of the child swore (the f word) at a full theater of viewers when they asked her to quiet her child. Where are the movie attendants when this type of activity occurs? Who makes people accountable for bad theater-viewing behavior? That was the last time I'll go to this theater.
