I love this place! My husband and I come to the Ambassador whenever we want to get out of the city, without having to get out of the city. The food is excellent, and the atmospher...

Worst

Be afraid! Really afraid! This is one of the worst restaurants in Baltimore, especially if you are looking for good Indian food and a nice dinning experience. The food is not ...

Would never go here again. 5/29/2006

The Ambassador Dining Room was given to me as a recommendation as an upscale restaurant. I called ahead to make reservations and also mentioned we were celebrating my parents 50th anniversary. Being of Indian ethnicity, we thought this would be a nice experience for all of our guests. I confirmed the reservation on Saturday as well. When we arrived at the restaurant, we found that our party of 11 were expected to seat at a banquet table which normally comfortably seats 8 people. We asked for better seating only to have to round tables put together. When asked about the four neighboring, empty tables to be put together, we were told they were reserved. The staff did not bother to assist us in putting the seats at the table. The "manager" told us to "help" ourselves to the other chairs otherwise we could use the garden chairs. By the end of dinner, those four tables remained empty. It also put a damper on the evening having two people at our table in the middle of the two tables and having to put their backs to the people at our tables. The service staff for the most part was EXTREMELY glum. While the food was fine, it's extremely expensive. A number of the people in our party ordered the mango lassi and when we asked that it be modified because of the very sour taste, nothing was done. Frankly, I would prefer food to be mediocre to excellent service especially for this occasion. My sister and I approached the manager who was also the bartender during that evening (may in fact be the owner as well). He was very curt and showed very little remorse for our dinner. My plan is to find the owner of the restaurant and contact him/her. I would NEVER RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING and TOTALLY OVERRATED!!! They certainly made my family and friends feel like second class citizens that night. more

Unbelieveable setting for a delicious champagne brunch 2/5/2006

The Ambassador Dining Room has an astounding weekend champagne brunch. In addition to traditional breakfast items and requisite mimosas, you'll find a full selection of Indian favorites. The atmosphere, on a sunny day, is fantastic. They have patio with a ton of plants, greenery, and fountains; inside is decorated like a royal study; you sit on leather high-backed chairs with pillows. It feels like you get the royal treatment, and the wait staff is very accommodating. Give this hidden gem a try! more

Fantastic Atmosphere 2/1/2006

The Ambassador Dining Room is a fairly well-hidden Indian restaurant just north of University Parkway on Canterbury Rd, located in the Ambassador Apartment buildling. Though it's hard to find, the atmosphere is completely worth the hunt. The best time to go is in the late Spring-Summer, when you can sit outside on the Verranda. Their food is very good, although a little bit pricier than some other Indian restaurants in town. And their weekend buffet is fantastic. more

Great Indian Food 8/16/2005

If you like Indian food, this is the place to visit in Baltimore. Although the items are a bit expensive and the portions are somewhat small, the food is worth it. Make sure to make a reservation as seating is limited if you want to eat outside. And believe me, you want to eat outside. Right behind the tables is a beautiful garden. The chairs at the tables are extremely comfortable and the service is fantastic. The owner is almost always there as well so if there are any problems just ask for him. This place is highly reccommended more
