Well, if you are not from Maine, chances are you are not aware that a sub/ grinder is called an Italian around here. Amatos has the best in the business. Most of the locations are very clean. Their "Italian" consists of ham, cheese, veggies (no lettuce), and oil/ salt and pepper. They are usually packed during lunch time. They do serve other foods, including pasta, pizza, and salads. One note about the pizza: the veggies are cut very large. If you don't like chunks of veggies on your pizza, don't order it. They also have a yummy steak and pepper sub. There is always a good seleciton of chips and soda to compliment your meal.
