Seriously, have the people that wrote reviews below ever eaten there?\r
I swear they haven't, or they're employees/owners that have written those reviews.\r
I've been 20 or so times over the years. I know the place well.\r
\r
I'm the only person out of my group of friends that will still go, and that's only because the food is good, and it's close to my house (and I love indian food)\r
\r
They are complete and utter jerks. The service is horrible! They're all pompous, except for the smaller female. She's a nice waittress. But the several men I'd had waiting on me act like my money is barely worth being in there. You'll be lucky to get a single drink refill the entire time...which you'll have to ask for, and they'll snicker about complying.\r
\r
I could write several stories about friends have horrible experiences in there. Objectively speaking...I'd side with them, and account the employees to being ridiculous jerks (to be nice)\r
\r
Admittedly - the food is incredible. But I'd counter that any and most indian is good. My dad will drive 30 minutes away to Ajanta to eat indian before he'll eat at Amar.\r
\r
So, to wrap up. Great food. No complaints. Nice atmosphere. But you're going to wait forever to get it. Treated like you're not good enough to be in there. No drink refills or modifications to your order.\r
My advice is to go to the buffet where you don't have to have service....and conserve the single glass of water they put on your table, because that might be all you get!
Pros: great food, nice atmosphere
Cons: Worst possible, consistently horrible service I've ever had at any private establishment
