Meaghan is so enthusiastic with every client and she really listens to what you want in a hairstyle and color along with giving great, honest advise on what you need to look your best. Meaghan has been highlighting and cutting my hair for years and is so talented when it comes to color that I refuse to go else where. So, so sad...used to love it here. I feel really confused and upset. A multitude of issues during my last visit...including, but not limited to, bangs so short I cannot currently leave the house without crying:(), left me feeling very surprised, as this is my biggest fear...and one fully known by my stylist. After a couple of happy years at Altitude, I will definitely be looking for another salon. I actually have never left an online review of any sort before in my life...but felt compelled to share. Just tried Altitude out for the first time-- I was looking for a new stylist because my old one kept jacking up her prices and was in an inconvenient location. I took a couple of risks: it was my first time having my hair professionally colored and as for the cut, I just told Laura to do pretty much what she wanted with it. And I have to say, I'm VERY pleased. I wanted my hair pretty much black (whereas I am normally a dark brunette), and she did the color really well so that it looks substantially darker but not unnatural. And the cut is fantastic. It's sleek and trendy, but she didn't use a crap-ton of products that would make it unreasonable to style in the morning. Finally, I didn't feel pressured to buy any kind of products or services, and they honored the online coupon. (I even felt a little bad because it was SUCH a good deal on a cut and color). I would definitely recommend Altitude. more

I just moved to the area and found Altitude Salon through others recommendations on this site and others. I saw Laura today, she was not only down to earth and easy to talk to, but she did an amazing job on my hair. I really love my hair, my highlights and lowlights blend great together and I got the more natural look I was going for! I would highly recommend Laura and Altitude to you!! Fun, great value, and great service! This suburban salon has a very urban attitude. Altitude is easily one of the best values in the west Denver area. I was introduced to this salon by my sweetheart 3 years ago and have enjoyed coming for men's haircuts ever since. And the crazy thing is, you will pay much less here than in one of Denver's pricier neighborhood, for the same or better service. Wow! more

My family has been a client of Altitude Salon for 4 years now and we couldn't be happier with the salon and the service provided. The atmosphere at Altitude is comfortable and friendly and has a hip vibe. I love the fact I can make appointments for any of my family members online and change them easily if needed without even contacting the salon. The stylists always listen to what our needs are and make changes accordingly to how we like our hair cut. They are open to suggestions and treat us with respect. They are knowledgeable about their profession, and it shows in our haircuts. Hmmmmm? I am not at all sure what CATF738 saw at this salon...or where she's been before but I was there a week ago for the first time and saw Laura. The salon is clean (must not have noticed the tears in the chair) and was offended by nothing! I am not tall and did not have to climb up anything to get washed! Laura did all over color and highlights and of course I walked out with a few stains on my hairline.....doesn't that ALWAYS happen? And she cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it!! I will be back! This is not a cherry creek salon (thank God)...nor are the prices (thank God).....pretty sure snobs don't belong! Maybe a box is more appropriate for some people.....careful about those stains tho CAT! more

I'm virtually spitting in the wind with a review below 5-stars, but don't you wonder about tons of 5-star recommendations and how they are gathered? I bought into them and I should have been wiser. I was asked to sit on a styling chair with splits in the seat larger than a turkey platter. I had to get my own plastic cover while the stylist mixed up the color. She used no product around my face to keep my skin from staining and, of course, I left with brown stains on my face and neck. Instead of lowering the water line in the wall for each shampoo bowl, you climb up on a stool to get in the chair and then use that stool to rest your feet. Not so good if you're handicapped or short. And, I left with one side of my hair roots a lighter color and patches of gray still showing on the back. Plus, I was charged for an all-over hair color when she did nothing but the roots and then put the rest of the color through to the roots as the water was running in the shampoo bowl. All this while I'm staring in the mirror at a cardboard sign soliciting 5-star reviews for this site. I truly felt as if I'd paid salon prices for Cost Cutter service, and I was furious when I checked the website and discovered the overbilling. more

I looked up ""Wheat Ridge"" salons on my search engine and Altitude came up with great ratings. I looks up pricing also, and was very happy that everything seemed reasonable. I made an appointment (online, which was very easy) and my experience was very good! Laura did my cut and color and it turned out amazing. She was nice and friendly. I love the atmosphere and the other stylists seem very nice. more

Meaghan has done my hair 3 or 4 times, each time AMAZING. She is the best person that has ever done my hair. I have told a couple of my friends about her, they both loved it as much as i do and keep going back. Each time the color came out perfectly how I wanted it and the cut was fantastic, I am trying to grow my hair long and she understands that, where most people would cut off a ton she only cuts what is needed to cut to help the growing process. I am making another appointment with her beginning of March. Plus, her salon is so cozy she offers you wine or tea when you come in and the decor is great! more

I am 22, and I moved to Wheat Ridge about 6 months ago. I have always had thick, coarse hair that I was afraid to have cut and styled because it is too much for most people. I was so hesitant and busy with preparing for graduation that I had not gotten it cut in about 6 months. I had headaches galore with that amount of hair on my head. I scheduled a consultation with Meaghan, and she knew what I was going through and was confident that she could relieve me. I also asked how she would recommend that I wear it; and even with all of my excitement built up, she more than exceeded my expectations. She is not afraid to tell me what is good or bad, what to avoid, etc. I have had her cut and thin my hair twice now, and I am going back this week for a full highlight (my first) and a waxing! more

Laura was my hairstylist for 2 years in Baton Rouge, LA. She was the only one I trusted my color and cuts too, she is great to take to and knew exactly what I wanted even when I didn't know what I wanted. When I got engaged she help me fine the right color and hair style I should have for my very special day. Laura was my hair stylist when I lived in Baton Rouge, LA. I can't say enough positive things about her. She has a great eye for what looks good on you. As other reviews have stated, she is very trustworthy and will not do something that wasn't discussed in the initial consultation. She is very good about directing you to a decision that will ultimately look the best for your hair type/face shape. She also did my highlights for several years. I wanted very subtle highlights that would lighten my hair overall without looking streaky. She gave me exactly what I wanted every time. I only went to Laura until she moved to Colorado. She is the BEST! I used to have REALLY long hair and then decided for a change. She made me feel comfortable in doing so.
